Tommy Returns as the original Green Ranger in Super Megaforce - On Set Photos
May 25, 2013 - 9:59 AM - by Kickback
super_megaforce_cameos.jpg
I think the picture says enough.

Jason David Frank has confirmed via images from his official Facebook page that is has indeed returned for a cameo role in Power Ranger Super Megaforce with two totally awesome (they are awesome) pictures.

The first photo is an on-set scene that looks to take place during the Legandary War (a scene where ALL the Power Rangers are fighting). He is standing with Hector David Jr, Brittany Pirtle, Patricia Ja Lee, Selwyn Ward, and Danny Slavin. It's interesting to note that he is holding the Green Ranger helmet used in Power Rangers Dino Thunder (20 years and they STILL can't get the suit right, haha!).

In the second image, which looks to be just for fun, he's given his Dragon Shield to the Green Samurai Ranger.

Check out these awesome pictures! Let the hype begin!!

New Super Megaforce Pictures - Patricia Ja Lee? Koichi Sakamoto?
May 24, 2013 - 10:19 AM - by Kickback
patricia_ja_lee.jpg
As we reported the other day, the 10 Power Rangers Super Megaforce cameos had flown out to New Zealand and were sharing pictures from their trip. Thanks to many of their Facebook accounts and Instagram photos, we have some new pictures to share with everyone!

We finally see Selwyn Ward (TJ, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers In Space) as well as Melody Perkins (Astronema/Karone, Power Rangers In Space, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), as well as Danny Slavin (Leo, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy).

A bit surprising to see however is Patricia Ja Lee (Cassie, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers In Space) who was NOT listed as one of the 10 returning cameos. And just as fitting we see Koichi Sakamoto, who served as everything from stunt director to executive producer over the years for Power Rangers.

Our cameo actors should be returning home in the next couple of days. In the meantime, we'll continue to bring you any new and exciting photos that they decide to share of their Power Rangers reunion adventure!

NOTE: Where exactly is Jason David Frank? He has yet to be seen with any of the other cameo actors. Is he involved in something bigger? Or is he purposely avoiding photography so he can make a big announcement about his return (as he's stated that there is no confirmation about him in Super Megaforce unless he says it). Soon as we know (or see), we'll let you know!

S.H. MonsterArts MechaGodzilla Kiryu Revealed!
May 23, 2013 - 2:48 AM - by Baltan II
SH MonsterArts MFS-3 MechaGodzilla Kiryu.jpg
UPDATE:We now have a new image, this time from Figure-Oh magazine. Kiryu will include a red-eyed berserk head, chest flaps that open to reveal the Absolute Zero Cannon, leg thrusters, and what looks to be an incredibly articulated tail! Thanks to our friends at The Daytime Ninja for the heads-up!

Did you think Bandai had really forgotten about the King of the Monsters, Godzilla? Worried about the state of the S.H. MonsterArts toyline? Not anymore!

Among this month's crop of leaked Hobby Japan scans is this single image depicting the Millenium incarnation of MechaGodzilla, also known as Kiryu!

Kiryu is in his first appearance from the 2002 film Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla and will be a standard release for September. This Godzilla-powered cyborg retails for 10,290 yen, standing 15.5 cm or just over six inches tall. We have no details on accessories and alternate pieces yet, but fans will be happy to know that unlike the Heisei MechaGodzilla and Garuda, Kiryu's weapons/jetpack is already included!

More details and a confirmation of release from North American licensed importer Bluefin are inevitable, so stay tuned!

Super Megaforce Cameos Confirmed, Pictures From Their Flight
May 23, 2013 - 12:50 AM - by Kickback
alison_macinis.jpg
Let the Super Megaforce cameo speculation finally be put to rest! Earlier tonight, Alison MacInnis, or Dana the Pink Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, confirmed that she was the 10th and final cameo Power Ranger returning for a reunion in Power Rangers Super Megaforce.

The following list was revealed by Fury Diamond of RangerCrew.com some time ago, with Alison MacInnis being the final addition to the list tonight.

Jason David Frank ("Tommy", MMPR, PRZ, PRT, PRDT)
Danny Slavin ("Leo", PRLG)
Melody Perkins ("Astronema", "Karone", PRiS, PRLG)
Reggie Rolle ("Damon", PRLG)
Selwyn Ward ("TJ", PRT, PRiS)
Sean Johnson ("Carter", PRLR)
Alison MacInnis ("Dana", PRLR)
Jason Faunt ("Wes", PRTF)
Hector David Jr ("Mike", PRS)
Brittany Pirtle ("Emily", PRS)

We've included images that these former Power Rangers have posted on their flight to New Zealand. Apparently the entire first class was filled with Power Rangers! What a Power Rangers fan wouldn't give to be on that flight right now...

Special thanks to Fury Diamond for all the glorious inside information on the upcoming reunion. No matter how small their roles may be, the fans are rejoicing to see some of their childhood heroes reunited, if even for a few seconds.

NOTE: Jason David Frank actually flew out on Monday, a couple of days prior to the rest of the cast. He is most likely already on set. Could he be there longer to film something closer to a tribute than a cameo for Tommy Oliver? Stay tuned...

Kyoryugray Appears in Brave 17
May 22, 2013 - 11:17 PM - by Den-O
Kyoryu Gray.jpg
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger has been fun, wacky, crazy, fast paced, and entertaining. It's also been working towards having more in universe heroes than any other sentai. Currently the title holder is Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger with 10. Thanks to the latest issue of Figure-oh we have the upcoming titles and descriptions for Kyoryuger Brave 16-19.

Quote:
Brave 16: Let's Dig! My Treasure
Brave 17: He’s Elegant! KyoryuGrey!
Brave 18: Let’s Use It! Kungfu’s Secret Technique!
Brave19: It’s Too Cute! Stolen Family!
Kyoryuger already has 8 heroes that we know of and now it's been confirmed that the 9th, Kyoryugray, will appear in Brave 17! Kyoryugray is the partner hero of the next Zyudenryu Bunpachy. Ramirez stated in his most recent appearance that he knew where Bunpachy was and was going to find him. Chances are he'll make another appearance and that Kyoryugray will likely be a spirit of sorts like him.

October Tamashii Web Exclusive Images Leaked!
May 21, 2013 - 4:14 AM - by Baltan II
SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Stronger Charge Up 1.jpg
Thanks to the recent Tamashii Web update (for the off-topic Daft Punk S.H. Figuarts), although currently not open for preorder, four upcoming exclusive releases are now known to be coming in October!

While obviously price and accessories are not entirely known to us, these images give us some idea of what to expect! First up are two S.H. Figuarts, of Kamen Rider Stronger in his Charge Up form, and the Electro-Wave Human Tackle, ally to Stronger!

Our other two reveals are both Ultra-Act figures, both of the same character. They are THE☆ULTRAMAN, also known as Ultraman Jonias! Jonias is unique in that he was first an animated Ultra, only to appear in cameos and among the live-action pantheon later. These two exclusives give Ultraman collectors the choice of the expected red-and-silver appearance, or the animated incarnation's more striking solid white in place of the metallic silver.

Not being officially revealed, please note that all information is subject to change. Look for the official confirmation of these figures, and an update from TokuNation, in the coming days or weeks!

Pacific Rim Sequel Already Greenlit - 1st Plot Details Emerge
May 21, 2013 - 12:07 AM - by Shin Densetsu
Pacific Rim Sequel.jpg
Entertainment Weekly has posted a new article about the upcoming Pacific Rim movie, due out this summer! They spoke with director Guillermo del Toro, and fortunately, while he did reveal some elements of the plot, he did so without giving everything away. We brought you news of a Pacific Rim Sequel back in January, but did you know it was already greenlit? Here's why and then some...
Quote:
Director Guillermo del Toro’s giant-robots giant-robots-versus-giant-monsters sci-fi action epic Pacific Rim won’t stomp into theaters until July 12, but the film’s backers already see its franchise potential as, well, giant—so much so that a sequel was greenlit before the movie was finished. After the first screening, Legendary Entertainment CEO Thomas Tull immediately told del Toro to start writing a follow-up. “He said, ‘Do you think you can come up with a great idea?’ ” del Toro remembers. “I said, ‘F—, yeah!’ ! Because on the way to the finished screenplay, there were entire angles and ideas that we chopped off because they were too much.”
For the sequel, del Toro doesn't want 1 on 1 matches like the old Godzilla movies. He wants to explore the Kaiju:
Quote:
Instead, del Toro and co-writer Travis Beacham plan to delve deeper into the alien forces behind the kaiju (Japanese for “giant monsters”), who in the first film invade Earth from their so-called “antiverse” through a breach at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, only to be met by a last stand of human defenders (including Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam). “They’re a race of blind consumers grabbing planets, consuming them, and moving to the next,” says del Toro. “The idea [with the sequel] is to explore a little bit of that. I won’t spoil it, but I don’t think we’ll repeat a single beat from the first movie.”
The article ends with del Toro stating to not expect the sequel so soon; it took a year and a half to finish the script of Pacific Rim and will take at least 2 years to write the next.

Update! Super Megaforce Cameo Retractions!
May 20, 2013 - 2:42 PM - by Kickback
kevin_prs.jpg
Well it would appear that some actors had jumped the gun. Well, just one in particular it would look.

Najee De-Tiege, or Kevin the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Samurai had originally tweeted that he and his cast were returning to Power Rangers Super Megaforce! But today, Najee informed Fury Diamond of RangerCrew.com that he was not attending after all.

In a bit of news that will cause many in the community to cheer, Samuell Benta who played Will the Black Ranger in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive also confirmed to Fury Diamond that he would NOT be attending Super Megaforce, after originally tweeting that he had been invited to return.

It would appear that the list of cameos that Fury Diamond got through his source are sticking to be true, and any and all other possibilities of cameos are out the window at this point. The list that Fury Diamond revealed is below:

Jason David Frank (Tommy in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers Dino Thunder)
Danny Slavin (Leo in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
Melody Perkins (Astronema/Karone in Power Rangers In Space, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
Reggie Rolle (Damon in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
Selwyn Ward (TJ in Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers In Space)
Sean Johnson (Carter in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue)
Hector David Jr (Mike in Power Rangers Samurai)
Brittany Pirtle (Emily in Power Rangers Samurai)
Jason Faunt (Wes in Power Rangers Time Force)
Alex Heartman (Jayden in Power Rangers Samurai)
Jason Smith (Casey in Power Rangers Jungle Fury)

We are now going to report those listed above as "confirmed" and assume that all other actors/actresses are no longer involved with Super Megaforce cameo appearances. If there is a confirmation at a later date of one not listed, we will go ahead and update the news. But otherwise, consider the list above as your final list of cameos for Power Rangers Super Megaforce.

Filming for the cameo is next week.

Click here to check out our list of cameos, who was rumored, and who declined to come!
