So the Mighty Morphin Megazord has no knee bend and is intended for the kids.

First off I like that new Megazord; it looks like a good affordable alternative to the SOC version. Second off, I hope the rest of the details are painted in when it’s released. And third and most importantly, PLEASE let there be Dragonzord and Titanus to go with it so we get Ultrazord!

Well shit, guess I was wrong about the new Megazord. Dead wrong. Looks really, really not great. Like, worse than the 2010 one easily.
So much for that. |
It's certainly disappointing, especially with the knee joints; but it's still a lot cheaper than Legacy Megazords and ultimately looks alright and a fine option -- and at the very least, the individual zords are lovely. Many other Megazords shouldn't have the knee problem as this is specifically due to how the combination joint in the t-rex zord works.

The Megazord is made for Kids so I am not upset that it kind of sucks. I do wonder, with the MMPR stuff being released for kids, and those new 12 inch figures with the armor, are we getting some kind of MMPR reboot? As a cartoon maybe? Would they even do two shows at the same time?
Really wish there was another reveal for the lightning collection... like a monster figure... |

As far as Power Rangers is concerned...it really under-performed this year, eh? A few Lightning figures, a little Beast Morphers, and new representation of the same Megazord and Dragon Dagger we've been buying for 25+ years! Not spectacular!
I was curious about the Dino Megazord aspect, and the whole thing doesn't look bad when combined, but it's clearly made on the cheap. The Saber-tooth and Triceratops don't even have moving wheels, so Tank Mode is gonna look dinky! It's almost like Hasbro is gonna ratchet the franchise into "Super Mega Kid-Friendly" territory! From Hasbro's perspective, it comes across as a "Why spend a lot on something only small kids and nostalgia-happy adults are gonna be invested in? It's not like it's Transformers where shit can REALLY GO DOWN!!!" I feel as though the franchise is gonna get retain this level of treatment until it starts to prove itself and pay dividends for Hasbro and Entertainment One! That said, I might still look into that Dino Megazord simply to give Hasbro that incentive and see how it truly looks and feels in person. It's super-kid-friendly and that isn't necessarily a bad thing overall. Given that the Dino Megazord is getting a deluxe-size toy, it does have me curious: 1): Is this happening simply to cash in on MMPR and because the Kyoryuger VS. Go-Busters team-up had Daizyujin and therefore the return of the Dino Megazord?, and 2): Could this also mean that footage of "Daizyujin" (Gokai Change Gozyujin) from Go-Busters VS. Gokaiger will be used in Beast Morphers as well? |
That's a bit of an overreaction to a single kid-aimed figure's lack of knee joints. Both Lightning Collection and Basic lines have shown a much more fan-friendly approach than Power Rangers has ever had, so while this one Megazord might be disappointing; it's hardly a reason to throw our hands up and go "welp, Hasbro sucks and doesn't give us anything".
