I never even knew the Galaxy Megazord and GingaiOh had different molds. I thought this came from the era where the molds were identical and all BoA did was change the stickers. Huh.

Someone feel free to correct me, but I'm under the impression that most of the changes back then were the removal of diecast. I've read that Gingaioh is pretty much diecast from his knees to his neck.
(They changed plastic colors fairly often too. Tor/Daimugen and the Stratoforce/Giga Phoenix come to mind.) |

As far back as MMPR diecast parts were removed, labels were "westernized", and electronics have been known to be removed on some releases over the years too. Like the black/gold Astro Galactic Megazord which had it's electronics gutted. Bandai America has made changes to a number of releases dating back to the very beginning.

I honestly didn't know the Astro Megaship had it's electronics removed. Darn.

Maybe they didn't modify the mold on the initial B/G release and only later waves have that done? I didn't buy this new, so I don't know if the box said it came with lights and sounds or anything.
https://youtu.be/J1Fw9AYZzIg Chest buttons function and the power switch is still present. Update: I had remembered someone posting in the hauls thread over at Rangerboard that they had gotten one of these a month or two ago, so I tracked down the post and sent them a message asking if theirs had electronics. His does too, so I'm going to guess that the removal of electronics was a later revision of the toy. Last edited by Shoji; 03-03-2016 at 04:44 PM.. |
