It's time for another round of Titanium Power at TokuNation! In honor of the Titanium Ranger's inclusion in the finale of Power Rangers Super Megaforce we've got 3 galleries coming up for your viewing pleasure. And the first one is today's featuring the Super Megaforce 5" Titanium Ranger!
Packaging Card Back and bubble are the standard you've seen from the 5" line of the last year. Only difference here being the obvious Titanium related logos and images as well as cross sells for the rest of the Wave 5 figures. Nice rundown of his stats/equipment on the back too. Main Figure Titanium Ranger is a character who certainly hasn't gotten a ton of love over the years from Bandai of America. But this figure certainly helps turn the tide for him. As with most all of the newer 5" figures they share a basic body sculpt. Since Super Megaforce began almost all the 5" figures have been based around this generic sculpt but each has some unique tooling and a few paint apps to set it apart. Titanium Ranger is for the most part the same figure as many of the others. At first glance you'd assume he's just a repaint of Lightspeed Red Ranger with a new head, but that's not quite right. For some strange reason Titanium's has longer thighs resulting in a taller figure. Odd. Though this makes him look a little strange next to other figures he's still gonna fit in with 5" displays. Now his boots and hands are most certainly repaints of Red as they share the same Lightspeed Rescue logo moldings and the same can be said for the belt. While some figures in the line have gotten a fair amount of detail, Titanium seems to have been left out a little. Some blue would have been very easy to apply on his belt. And while I get that these figures are basic, cheap, and based on generic bodies, it would have been nice to get the proper molded shoulder pads for this guy. The head sculpt however is new. Accessories As with most of the rest of the 5" line Titanium Ranger's accessories are sparse. In fact he only comes with one. Titanium Laser in Axe Mode. As with the weapons included with other rangers this weapon is molded, or rather painted, in one solid color. Gold. Which is a bit jarring since the actual Titanium Laser is mostly black & silver. Gold seems an odd choice but it appears to be the same as that used for the details on Titanium Ranger's body. So it may have been a cost cutting measure in production. The details of the Axe are sculpted in nicely but the soft rubbery plastic it's made of leaves a bit to be desired. In the past Titanium Ranger figures have included actual transforming laser/axe weapons or in the case of the Super Legends figure simply included 2 versions of the weapon, 1 for each mode. So I find myself comparing this figure to an older one that seemed to have more to offer. Final Thoughts This figure is never going to be THE Titanium Ranger toy, at least not to me. I own several vintage Lightspeed Rescue Titanium figures as well as the Super Legends figure from 2008, all of which do a better job of representing the character. It's honestly a little jarring to see the regression in quality over time from BOA figures in this scale. Though production costs are always going up while quality declines in relation. But at a basic price point this Titanium Ranger can get the job done for most collectors or the younger demographic it's targeted at. If you've been collecting 5" rangers from the last years worth of the line then he's perfect for that kind of display. It's been very hard to acquire Titanium Ranger as well. Most major retailers aren't currently ordering the Wave 5 & 6 case assortments he's packed into. If you're still having trouble finding Titanium Ranger or any of his case mates then be sure to check any and all local Walgreens. Oddly enough besides snagging numerous toy exclusives in recent months from Funko & Hasbro, they are also one of the only chains currently stocking these final assortments of Super Megaforce figures. We'll be back soon with two more galleries for your viewing pleasure. The Super Legends Titanium Ranger, & the Power Morphicon 2014 Wolf/Titanium Ranger Key pack!

The figure looks amazing and I wanna pick him up but, he doesn't come with a Titanium Laser?
From what I recall, even the Super Legends Titanium Ranger figure comes with both versions of his weapon. I guess you could try and 3D-print the other version if you wanted it that much. |

I want this, but fully expect to never find it in the UK and it isn't really priority enough for me to import.
