It's 2014, I'm sure the CGI can keep up.
Hell, remember Bumblebee in the first Transformers movie? The CGI was MORE convincing than the actual full sized model. Also, the baby raptorzillas were full dudes in suits a lot of the time, and they had a big, not to scale obv., Godzilla animatronic. There was a cool video I wish I could find. Also, don't bring up Bumblebee.I didn't mind the movies,I just didnt like the robotic insect blender mix that beeped and whistled.lol

That drawing almost looks like it could be an early design sketch for the first millennium Godzilla suit.

If that's the new Godzilla's look then I will be fine with it. It looks like they took the 1998 Zilla design and blended it with all the suits from the period of Godzilla 2000 to Final Wars.

Turns out that piece of art may be concept art from Godzilla 2000 and not this new film. Darn. Well, at least it looked really cool.

First off, a full size prop or anamatronic is not really "suitmation." By that logic, King Kong 1933 was partly done with suitmation.
That having been said I would love to have a few scenes of the new G film done with suitmation. Do I think it will happen, or happen enough to really be considered a "man in a suit" movie? No, not in 2014, and not with the budget this movie has. It'll be a CGI Amerigoji, and we can only hope that he ends up in a better film than the last Amerigoji did.
