What a nice episode. Just all around good stuff.
But the end - another Alien Barossa? Yeah I'm down. It was teased there would be more, and using a weapon-swiping alien to develop the Beliarok is a great idea. And I love that they are apparently building a unique trait for Barossa - classic music. The first one had the "Saber Dance", this one is introduced with "Night On Bald Mountain" :lol Quote:

Honestly, my highlight of the episode was insane Celebro. Though I wonder where he goes from here without his Belial medal.

When will STORAGE learn of Haruki's identity as Z & when will Haruki learn of his superior as Juggler?

Pre-orders for DX Sevenger are back on Tokullectibles. Shipping is now April, so this must be a second stock.

Hey question for y'all I recently bought the Z Riser and Medal Holder set off of Yahoo Auctions, but I haven't shipped it to the US yet. What I want to know though, is how big is the Z riser? because the weight on zen is 2.21 kilograms which is a full kilogram larger then my Seiken Swordriver with lion senki set (1.204 kg)

Also what's this Sevenger It doesn't look to have a spring loaded arm, so it might be different from the 9900 yen one? |

It's a new P-Bandai item, but this one's a minipla.

This week on Ultraman Z, having a living sword with the personality of the most evil guy ever turns out to be maybe more trouble than it's worth. Who would've guessed? |
A nice episode about how damn fickle Beliarok is. But I suppose that just gives him a lot of character and makes him more unique than your standard Final Form Weapon, so I dig it.
I'm also curious to see what Juggler's endgame is, he needs Celebro alive for something, so much so that he didn't mind disarming one of the soldiers so they could get taken over. Also wow, a Fate/Stay Reference last week with Z Gamma Future, and now a G Gundam reference with Windom? This show is indeed spoiling us. lol |

And also at one point the Barossa alien says IKUZE IKUZE IKUZE!, no doubt this is a Den-O reference. |
9998 Barossas left!
I don't know how much I like Beliarok, it's a bit goofy. But that Deathcium Fang finisher is pretty fuckin' Metal. Also Metal: WINDOM YOKO IMPACT Quote:

Excuse me what is this now? :lol
https://i.imgur.com/EYng4jO.gif Didn’t some Gundam do this before? :lol I love it; Delta Rise Claw does the dumbest but most awesome stuff if Beliarok isn't around. Speaking of which, I like this sword a lot. They could’ve given it 4 lines that it just cycles through and pretend it was a character but they went out of their way to bring it to life which is great. By the way, I'm really curious what Celebro is up to. |
Loved the little shout outs Tsubaraya snuck into this episode.

This week on Ultraman Z, there's a really good emotional throughline, and also, Kemur does that funny walk! I'll let you decide which of those things is more important. |
There's something borderline majestic and captivating about the way Kemur runs/walks.
Also just a really nice, atmospheric and touching episode overal. Thank you, Ultraman. Indeed! I really enjoyed the back and forth team planning between Haruki, Z, and Beliarok. Also just the shot of Haruki and Z back to back with Beliarok popping up in the middle like the puppet sword he is. |
I need to watch all 3 currently posted Episodes of Z, frick

Undeniable love letter to the Ultra Q episode "Challenge From The Year 2020"! User GrandComplete brought it up recently on the "Ultraman Discussion Thread".
Kinda curious what happens when someone is exposed to Kemur's liquid. Does it disintegrate someone or transport them? Transportation is more likely given the dialogue, but transportation where? The model work is exemplary as always. The book Kaori is reading is a nice callback to the aforementioned Ultra Q episode. Beliarok is remarkably cooperative and helpful here after an episode of deciding who to help and what to cut. What is that glass building in reality? It's appeared in tokusatsu for years, in Sentai and Rider and Zyu2 footage for Mighty Morphin'! I suspect that it's an arboretum, based on its prior usage. Next week...Ace! |

This episode was great. Very mysterious vibe, really fits the Ultra Q homage.
|
I enjoyed this. They did a pretty good job of making this seem like more of an Ultra Q episode than Ultraman Z (except for the giant fight at the end obviously).
Speaking of Ultraman fights, night fights always look cool. I liked Kemur throwing tiny boats at Z. A giant naked glowing lady. What is this, Garo? |

Ooh!
I guess this makes Z our first New Gen, ULTRAMAN suit, since the most they've done are other Showa and Heisei Ultra's through Gacha and Kits. |
That's a very cool looking suit indeed.
|
That's a custom for a contest.

That's really impressive looking. |
The scan says this Z suit was made using the Zero kit as a basis and puttying it up. The personal lore the builder made for the Z suit is that it is a suit created based on the combat data of Moroboshi, Leo, and Astra.

This week on Ultraman Z, a very special guest star with an exceptional talent for leaving on choice words shows us once again why you should respect your elders. Also I don't think that's how you translate choujuu... |

Over all a nice episode, tbh I loved the focus Z got in this, especially that bit at the end! I was honestly not expecting that revelation! |
I absolutely love the sound design once Ace enters the frey, and while I haven't watched Ultraman Ace, I can still tell this battle was meant to be a total nostalgia trip for anyone who did.

Ace is pretty cool. Loved his entrance and that conversation with Z at the end.
EDIT: Just remembered that shot of the monster killing several motorists. Somehow I doubt they'll talk about that next episode. :lol |
This was a cool episode. Backstory for Z is neat and I liked the conversation with Ace and Z ending with the big Z in the sky becoming an A. That's good stuff.
Obviously the action and direction were incredibly well done. But it always is! |
So is the reason Z wanted to be Zero's apprentice because Z's father also just ditched him to be cared for by another Ultra and figured Zero would relate? (joke)
This episode was a fun carnival ride as usual, and I held it off so I could watch Ace Episode 14 courtesy of Tsuburaya's channel first so I could understand the very immediate references. Space Z... that's so dumb but goofy in a good way. Next week... is weird not-even-a-recap much like that mecha-focused one we got way back. I guess they need a bit extra time to edit the last of their footage for the final episodes. |
