Zeo Blue looks to be the first figure from this line that has no missing paint apps. As far as I’ve noticed anyway. They even painted his earring, which is quite a surprise. Though paint has rubbed off of both weapons on my copy (as well as Jason’s power sword) with very little use.
The missing tonfas issue is inexcusable, in my opinion. I did not expect to see Hasbro repeating any of Bandai’s bad decisions, such as excluding signature weapons. If something had to be cut for budgetary reasons, it should have been optional accessories like the energy effect and one of the fists, rather than something specific to the character. The articulation is great, but I really dislike how the butterfly joints break up the sculpting of the chest design on the Zeo suits. The actor likeness of the head sculpt is among the worst of the line. Strange how the likenesses are so hit or miss. All that said, this is still a good figure from an awesome line. A line that could be totally perfect with a little extra effort. |
This unfortunately had the worst QC issues of any Lightning Collection figure I bought. That combined with the extended pod sword and the absent tonfas has really soured me on getting any more Zeo figures in this line - but just having blue and gold doesn't look right in my display, so we'll see.
(Seriously, though - they gave Blaze an articulated laptop but they can't give Rocky a holstered pod sword?) |
I actually gave in and bought this as my first Lightning Collection figure. I don't mind the lack of the tonfas, but I am bummed that he didn't include chopping hands since a lot of his poses has that.

https://i.imgur.com/tVMMctw.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6UFPpaO.jpg These are the Tonfas, Zeo Pod, and Adv Zeo Blaster I made. This thing really needed to come with the Tonfa's. For MMPR the lack of the holstered blade basters I didn't mind. Ignoring if you have the legacy figures. The blaster fits in the holster. It may not be screen accurate but I feel it eliminates a step. The holstered mode serves no purpose and nearly all the blasters don't have a holstered mode. It's a holster mode in a holster. That's redundant. With Zeo, it's like the Quasar Saber. It's an item that extends but it's impractical to put that long form in a holster. It limits posing to me unlike the MMPR Blaster which doesn't at all. I found that the Legacy version sorta fits but not snugly. The blaster that came with this one is really tiny. It's snug and cute but the show version is a long blaster. But the Tonfa's really annoy me. It was a major thing Bandai didn't do and more desirable then the sword(which everyone would have). When Blaze got that suitcase...........like why? It was an "articulated" suitcase with all these paint apps. This is as bad as DC Gold gold neck. Hands wise. It's great that two hands is standard now. Chopped hands and others is nice though I've accumulated a lot of excess hands. I'd like to get more open(like SPD red has) or wider open hands(like Magna Defender has). Quote:

Loved this season

Those pics of Jason and Rocky together really look nice given the context that they both started as Red Rangers in MMPR.
Nice that the delta tonfas eventually were included. |

Kinda shocked this figure came with so much, but they really should've kept the tonfa.
