I think Orb actually would be a very good modern show to get into the franchise with. There's a present story throughout the series alongside some of the more quirky directional choices found throughout the Ultraman series. There's a very fun and unique cast of characters in there and the lead actor himself is one of the better leads in a tokusatsu of recent years.

Thanks for the thorough answers !
I checked out Nexus, Max and Orb. I think I am going to stick with Max for now, it felt nice, fit what I expected from Ultra man, plus the fights had a nice weight to them. Nexus was really neat, I like the darker approach but I feel like I might appreciate it more after Max, and Orb look way too heavy on knowing stuff about past Ultra men with its whole card system... Once again I thank you for your help getting into this series as its much more daunting and dense from the outside then other shows. NOTE I keep spelling it Ultra man because I can not post otherwise ?!?!? |
Not sure if I said this before but...
Ultraman's henshin sequences as of late are probably the worst ever. Too many cuts like its an instruction manual for the toy. I get that its product placement but showing me every button to click is just a turn off. |

So Ultraman Orb the Chronicle's last episode was a total episode 0 to Ultraman R/B. And the last few minutes they played what I assume is the theme song and I like how it is different from the current songs. It is more energetic as opposed to the more epic and grandiose theme songs of Orb and Geed.
Looking forward to it. This commercial for R/B has the song I was talking about in the background. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy1kx4lAG9Y |
I liked the last episode of Orb the Chronicle, it was a neat farewell for Gai. I'm hyped for R/B!

Anyone else planning on watching Ultraman R/B tonight when Tsuburaya uploads it to their youtube channel? I did that last year with Ultraman Geed and it was actually pretty fun, even if I couldn't understand a word that was being said.
|
Looks like no R/B on Crunchyroll. :( Youtube it is, I guess.
|
Really dissapointed that Crunchyroll doesn't seem to be airing R/B. Its cool that its being officially posted on Youtube by Tsuburaya, but without subtitles its kinda pointless for me.
I guess I just figured that with the last 3 Ultra series being picked up by Crunchyroll that R/B was a given. Ah well... |
So... no sub until someone decides to pick it up? Crap.
I was actually getting up today thinking: "You know, maybe I do go for a Crunchyroll membership now if they have Ultraman R/B", I jinxed it. Good thing is the show looks super bland and not very interesting, but I still would’ve wanted to check it out at least. And Ultraman shows have been top-notch for the past three years now; R/B is probably very good still. |

Well, this is irritating. Tsuburaya s YT channel won't let anyone outside of Asia watch the latest episode of R/B.
