I guess my question is: do Hasbro Comic-Con exclusives for Star Wars, Transformers, Marvel, etc usually get mass releases at some point down the line? If so, then what's the point of them being a Comic-Con exclusive? |

Same with Star Wars. The exclusives are usually just brand-new figures with a dozen (mostly irrelevant) accessories and / or special packaging. But said figures just end up at retail later anyways, but in standard packaging with fewer (relevant) accessories. This year they have Episode I figures on special, retro card backs, but the figures themselves will be released in standard Black-series boxes later. I would expect the same here, Zeo Gold will probably be released single packaged at retail, maybe with just one variant of the staff, but still. |

Roughly how long after the SDCC releases do the retail versions usually go on sale? |

That can greatly vary. The one I remember, Black Series Thrawn, was out at retail like a few months after the SDCC exclusive release. There's no stone set formula to it, I would however expect news of a single release in the next 6 months or so. The release itself should definitely be within a year after the exclusive comes out. Generally with these exclusives, if they are completely new molds of classic characters, a retail release is almost guaranteed at some point. Wacky color-variants or very niche characters (Lord Draakon or whatever that one was called) might stay exclusive but beloved characters like these are never meant to be exclusive forever. It’s just too easy to sell a unique box-set to collectors and then charge the entire customer base with single releases. |
Am I wrong for thinking these don't look up to the same quality as the wave 1 main release figures?

I hope this isn't hard to get. It's cool and I want it. Or if they announce a regular release Zeo Gold that'd cool as well.
