Worst Kamen Rider Villain...EVER
Well, we've had all our favorite told, now it's time for you to let us know who was the worst Kamen Rider Villain.
Showa: Heisei (Kuuga-Decade): "Neo-Heisei" (W-Wizard/Onwards): Just post your thoughts here. REMEMBER, THIS IS JUST TO STATE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT A KAMEN RIDER VILLAIN. DEBATING IS FAIR, JUST DON'T MAKE IT PERSONAL. THANK YOU. |
From W to Wizard I'd say Medusa just because she was so goddamn boring.
Not really sure about the others, I've only seen Amazon, Ryuki and Decade at the moment so can't really comment. |
I don't know enough Showa, unfortunately...
For Heisei, the worst villain, hands down, is Kai. Showed up during the last 5th of the series with only one line prior to alluding to him, having no real goals beyond being blatantly evil, with a lame gimmick being portrayed by an actor who clearly didn't want to be doing it. For Neo-Heisei, as much as I want to say Medusa, I have to say that, honestly, it's Sagittarius, from Fourze. He had a plan that he didn't have a clue would work, his motivations were odd, and as a whole, his character was just dull. His followers were mindlessly motivated by him, despite having no reason to be so loyal, and his defeat, while keeping in tone with Fourze, was anticlimactic to say the least. |

My vote would be Saggitarius Zodiarts. Now, there's a reason for this. Through the entire series they kept building, and building, to the moment he would press that button that reveal his Zodiart... And what we got was.. whatever the heck that is. Maybe it was my expectations that were to high but I just expected more. So much more. Now Kuuga to Decade? My vote would have to go to every villian in Decade simply because he didn't really have his own villian set. He stole them from everyone else and the show might've worked better if he had one. |
Kamen Rider Kuuga through Kamen Rider Decade: Spider Fangire. Need I say more?
Kamen Rider W through Kamen Rider Wizard: Nasca Dopant. Now let me explain. A villain is an agent of evil. Kirihiko was never really evil. He was more like a noble drug-dealer—giving out his product because that's what his higher-ups wanted. However, he had morals and guidelines—he would never give out Gaia Memories to children, and only to adults who wanted them. He was a good-hearted man doing evil things, and in the end, he repented. He wasn't a villain by nature—he was just on the villainous side. So, compared to everyone else, he is the worst villain, because he never was a villain. Although I did hate Weather. A lot. |
Being redeemable doesn't make the villainous character a bad villain.
That makes it seem like the only "Good" villains are the ones who are complete monsters with no regret towards their actions. |

Kuuga-Deacde: Ouja.
W-Wizard: probably Medusa. |
For the Showa era, I have to go with Archbishop Wing from V3. Like his predecessor, Baron Fang, he was only around for six episodes. But while Baron Fang had a great design and was highly memorable for his creepy voodoo theme (and random tuxedo), all Archbishop Wing had going for him was a bunch of episodes with recycled plots from the original series. His design was bland, his character wasn't memorable, and he really did nothing but keep the Destron general seat warm until Marshall Armor showed up.
For classic Heisei, I have to go with Kai, too. His goals are incredibly vague, he spends more time making funny faces than doing anything, and he never really felt like he actually belonged on the show. I suppose the Imagin needed a leader, but they didn't deserve this useless nutjob. For Neo-Heisei I'm actually having a hard time picking between Maki and Gamou. As I've always maintained, Doctor Maki is not a credible threat. Yes, he's sick and twisted; yes, he has very dark ambitions; but I just can't take the man seriously when any time his little doll falls over he starts rolling around on the ground and having fits. Gamou is at least more serious, but what he makes up for in demeanor he seriously lacks in motivation. Gamou spends the entire series sitting in a chair and trying to gather the Horoscopes. Why? Well, for most of the series we don't know - there's no clear endgame for him until the last couple of episodes, and that involves an incredible ass-pull that comes right out of nowhere and never really makes much sense. Compare that to Wiseman on Wizard; his true goals are cloaked for most of the show, too, but now that things are coming to a head all of his actions are starting to make sense and you can go back and see precisely what he was doing and how it affected what happened. I guess I have to go with Gamou. Maki may have been ridiculous, but at least there were some good ideas underneath the stupid exterior. |

Only Showa I have seen is Black, but I have a hard time believing there could be worse villains than Golgom, who make ridiculously elaborate plans without ever actually having goals. It is almost impossible to articulate how baffling they are if you haven't seen the show, they just do 'stuff' and you think their random actions will mean something but it never does, gaaaah.
I can't comment on Heisei yet. In terms of Neo Heisei, I've not had any good villains yet out of the shows I've watched. Gamou and his Horoscopes became less and less important as their show progressed until you realised no one actually had a plan and no one knew what they were doing and it all fell to bits. The Greeed did NOTHING until like the last five episodes of the show before they lined up to get knocked down and this was often after recently returning 'from the dead' after being written out of the show for a majority of it. And the Phantom's are kind of a blend of the two, no one seems to really know what they are doing, everyone largely lurks in the background until they step forwards to be killed off. Out of the three though I'd still say the Greeed were the worst offenders, as at least some of the Horoscopes were cool and did some cool stuff, and at least Gremlin had a cool backstory and Medusa and Phoenix had cool send offs. The Greeed were just too many, boring, pointless and ultimately pathetic and useless. |

I was positive Locke would have been in here parading around about how the Grongi were the worst Heisei villains :lol

X is a sadly underrated series. :( |
Showa: Crisis Emperor
Heisei: Undead Joker and the Imagins in general. Neo-Heisei: The Greeeds and Maki. I'll add almost every Movie-only Rider Villain save for Eternal from W. |
Heisei: Makamou, Kai & Mishima Cricket Worm

Haruto.
Yes, I know. He's Kamen Rider Wizard. He's also the greatest enemy that show has to ever being good again. |

He can't emote, Badland. It's physically impossible for him to show any emotion what-so-ever. I think that's why they made Nitou so flamboyant, to give a counterpoint to his blank stare. |

I still think he's the best Rider we've had in a long time. Wizard as a show has a lot of problems, but Haruto is the one part that just totally works. |

I'm not doubting Haruto is intended to be a reserved character, since there's things going on that would support that, but the actor is tre-fucking awful, and has zero personality. He's flat as a board, and barely manages to summon base everyday emotions in his voice. It takes a certain talent to play subdued without coing across as emotionally oblivious, and sadly he's utterely vacant in his performance, and that's what will always stop Haruto from being a good character sadly, the acting. He can't even say his dumb catchphrase without sounding like it's his first take on a morning where he slept in. |

Narutaki was a villain?
Huh. |

Narutaki became Apollo Geist at some point in a movie, didn't he? That should count for something, even if he didn't do anything there either.
