S.H. Figuarts Machine Ghostriker Gallery
26 Attachment(s)
It's been a little while since we took a look at another release from Kamen Rider Ghost. And this time instead of an actual rider we're checking out a ride! Today's subject is S.H. Figuarts Machine Ghostriker!
Packaging Fairly standard Ghost theme here. Nothing special to report, and stock photos for a bike are generally pretty boring anyway. Main Figure Rider Machine reviews are usually pretty easy, and this one is no different. Bikes rarely do much of anything new or noteworthy in execution. Transforming behemoths like Autovaijn, Darkraider, & the like being fantastic exceptions. But Machine Ghostriker is a totally by the numbers release. Keeping that in mind let's talk about the only thing we can really discuss with this piece, the details. Ghostriker has a fairly boring color scheme given it's unique design. I'd have loved to seen this bike in some more wacky colors. Using Ghost's standard black & orange with a hint of the Ghost Driver's opaque blue however is pretty unappealing. The Design itself is unique though. This horse theme is entirely new to rider machines, no previous bike I can think of uses this motif. The segmented skeletal nature of the horse comes into play only on the front end of the bike though. So the rest of it is, well, just a bike. And again, just a rather boring one. Ultimately there's not a lot to say about this machine that pictures can't express. It's a serviceable companion to any of your Ghost figuarts and will complete a display quite nicely. But if you're looking for intricacy or complexity, then you'll find it lacking. As always I welcome crisp paint apps, the working rear suspension, and a design that can (mostly) accommodate the figure of the rider it's intended for. Accessories As with almost any Rider Machine, Machine Ghostriker includes next to nothing. 1 - wheel base. Just the standard type included with most Rider Machines for stability. 1 - Tamashii Stage Adapter. This adapter clamps onto the underside of the bike pretty securely and allows you to put it in some more dyamic poses. But it's uses are limited as well That's not much, but it is very much in line with the types of accessories usually included with Figuarts bikes. Final Thoughts As with every release in the Ghost lineup, I waited for this one to hit a pretty deep clearance before buying it. I probably should have waited longer though. S.H. Figuarts Machine Ghostriker doesn't really set itself apart much from other bikes, there's no Captain Ghost for it to combine with, and it doesn't come with any meaningful accessories. This release is totally unnecessary unless you just want to go all in on Kamen Rider Ghost, otherwise, I'd say take a hard pass on it. If you must buy Machine Ghostriker though, I would advise you wait for a sub-2000 yen discount first. |
Rider Machines are meant to be a staple of the franchise, one of the things that when you mention Kamen Rider people go "Oh, it's the series where the heroes share powers with the monsters!!"
Machine Ghostriker just looks like a dollar store toy and that's sad given that you're paying SH Figuarts pricing for a mostly black bike. At least it holds the figure's weight, so it does serve its purpose as a bike. |
While Ghost was disappointing for many reasons, the designs are not one of them. This bike is neat in a stealth unicorn kind of way.
|
I never really liked this bike, Ghost only used it like 4 times. lol
|
But can it turn into an iguana??
|
Not a really big fan of the show, but the designs for mostly everything including this bike are amazing!
|
I honestly enjoyed this design very much when it first came out. But then the Machine Hoodie showed up and that's the one that I fell in love with.

Ghost horse bike for a ghost kamen rider? DONE!
I liked the idea of a ghost horse for Ghost's bike! It looks spooky and it get's the job done at that. |
I had high hopes for this when we first saw pictures of it – I saw potential for another sentient bike like Battle Hopper since, you know, the show is called "Ghost", so I expected his bike to be a regular bike possessed by a dead horse.
But hey, Ghost was a complete disappointment in every other aspect to me, so why do something different with the bike? It was another soulless toy advertisement that disappeared halfway through the show. It's not any more different than usual, and the show is not at fault for not meeting my hopes and dreams since I should’ve known better, but I still can’t find anything likable about this bike. The horse head looks stupid, it has that ugly transparent plastic I already disliked on the Driver and the orange seat to match Ghost’s color-scheme? Nah, it’s not working for me. So yeah, the toy isn’t doing it for me either. It’s a solid accessory for the people who like Ghost but I can't even bring myself to buy bikes which I actually like, so I never gave this toy a closer look ever since it was revealed. |
Motif is pretty awesome. A bike detailed as a horse has been something I've been wanting to see. 'Bout time.
Shame that it's so bland. There should've been a lot more color to it, or more detailing to make it pop. This should be a design that makes you go "WOAH!" since it's so unique and interesting. I'm rather disappointed, in all honesty... What should've been the bike of my dreams ended up being worse than a Ride Shooter...At least those were creative. |
Cool idea for a bike, totlly wasted in the show. I honestly didn't realise they had released it, so kudos for reminding me. It looks alright, but nothing special. Maybe with a different colour scheme, it would be savable.
|
I like his bike but he really didn't use it enough.
|
A horse themed bike? Ghost is trying to steal my ideas for a Rider series!
In all seriousness though, the bike is just okay. I'm not even sure I would have noticed it was a horse without looking closely. |
I like the design, if only because it's a black unicorn, and that reminds me of a Voltaire song.
Shame he didn't use it more. |
The placement of the material that echoes the Ghost Driver is interesting given what they did with Kamen Rider Lazer. It makes me wonder if an early planning stage for the Ghost toys involved the ability for Eyecons to be inserted into the bike, imbuing it with Luminary abilities. Pure speculation, of course.
I actually like the design of this bike more than a little, but it suffers because it was rarely used by Takeru post-henshin. I mean even more rarely than most Rider bikes. I suppose this would be a partial consequence of having a Rider who can fly. But even the more interesting iguana and ghost ship forms were rarely-used, and hand-waved on the occasions when they were. Why did they never do anything with the interior of the ghost ship? The show could have imbued Captain Ghost and the iguana with story, but they didn't take advantage of the opportunity. Takeru inexplicably had a motorcycle echoing his Kamen Rider form, and didn't he have it before he actually became a Rider? The shot you have of them riding out of the explosion reminds me of how much I like these designs together. |
Man. Ghosts Bike looks pretty amazing. They did well.
|
One of the few Rider series where that bike was only seen in the intro, three episodes, and nowhere else in the series.
|
I'm actually a big fan of the Ghostriker design, which makes it so disappointing that Ghost never 1. explained it 2. did anything interesting with it 3. used it. This thing disappeared very early into the show. Pretty unfortunate.
Wanted to get this one, and maybe I will at some point--I do think it looks good--but the show itself made it so hard to be interested... |
I'm not impressed. Never mind it in the show tbh, Takeru barely used it lmao.
|
They could have at least included those "prayer" hands that came with Musashi to sweeten the deal.
|
I liked the colors they look exactly like the colors from the show. Only the headlamp looks a bit funny depending on the viewing angle. Anyway good job!
|
The idea of releasing the bikes by themselves always seemed weird to me, simply because any time I was at a con, the only Kamen Rider figures that were left were the bikes. What a disappointment haha. But I definitely understand the reasoning.
That being said, this thing looks really nice. I think the only other ones I've seen are the Ichigo and V3 bikes, and neither looked as nice as this. |
I always wondered why Kamen Rider always used dirt bikes as a base for their bikes. I'm not a huge fan of the look and always preferred the look of sport bikes but now that I think of it, it's probably because of cost and what not.

Plus, I think the dirt bikes look cooler. |
I kinda like its design, too bad he barely used it in the show.
I prefer the Dairanger's horse-bikes tho :D |
Easily, easily one of my favorite ride machines ever, honestly may even be my number one.
I mean..it's a skeletal, ghost horse. That's just badass. Really makes me want to get back to finishing Ghost. Series seems like it was made for me, but I just fell behind and never got around to catching back up. Plus having stuff spoiled really brought me down and got me a bit disheartened. Have never picked up any of the ride machine figuarts. Not many I'd honestly really want. Maybe Dragrenzer would be cool for my Ryuki Survive. And this thing would like slick with Ghost. Still think the iguana mode is...odd. |
There are few bikes that screamed own me. This...is not one of them lol
|
The thing about the Ghostriker is I like that idea, but the paint job makes it look so flat. If they're wanting to make a correlation between Ghost and his bike they could've done better. Fill in the sculpted lines with orange, trim the horse head with white, add a contrasting color inside the headlights to make the eyeballs pop more, make the spines on the mane and tail silver, add orange to the handle bars.
|
I feel like this is worth getting only for a completist or at an affordable price. For a SHFig, it's very barebones.
|
It looks nice. The gallery makes it look cool. But they really could have gon all out with the skeletal horse look on it, Like make the front leg things look like legs. Have the ghost colours be more pronounced, or go full out wacky with the colours on it. Make it look more ghostly.

As far as the bike is concerned It is nice, simple, and dose work with Ghost's design. |
Man, I love the design of Ghost's bike. Just different and wild enough to fit. Love it
|
Never care for any of the ghost figuarts they were all crap.
|
I recently got the Boost version for pretty cheap, and I really enjoy the figure. While its posability isn't great due to the sleeves, it looks amazing
|
This is one of the only ghost figuarts that I want, going to have to get the bike too
|
I just wish the bike itself wasn't more on the line of a crotch rocker or speed bike. I don't like that design on a dirt bike look.
|
That's honestly one of the cheapest, most half arsed bike designs. From the cheap dirt bike frame underneath, to the terribly implemented additions, it's an unattractive design. It's neither sleak nor powerful looking, and barely evokes a horse, or anything for that matter.
Ghost flatlined in just about every regard for me. This bike does not run contrary to that reality. I miss badass ninja bikes or meaty hogs, not these dinky dirt bikes with silly plastic shells on top. |
I think the bike looks pretty good.
