What Are You Watching? (American Toku Edition)
Why hasn't anyone done this sooner? This thread works like Sentai, and Kamen Rider, but exists solely for Power Rangers.
I've been rewatching some old episodes of Samurai since I missed a couple. Namely where they receive the Beetle, and the Swordfish. And I've been watching some Power Rangers Turbo. To remind myself why I never watch Power Rangers Turbo. |
I watched some of MMPR. Specifically, since Kaku 4-7 had been released at the time, to watch the Ninja Quest story line.
I'll hold onto my PR nostalgia dearly, and I love these characters, but I just can't do this. I Let's Watch ever does Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, we either need to livestream it so we can do it together or something, because my god, if Season 3 was this pitiful, I'm terrified of what Season 1 has to offer... Oh, and I tried out some Alien Rangers because I love the Kaku suits that much. It made me want some battleborgs. |
We need one of these for Other Toku. I always feel awkward putting my Rescue Fire analysis in the Sentai thread...

I just can't watch season 3. Ignoring the kid thing, no...
Season 1 makes me want to fall to my knees and cry. (Oh, and there was an episode in PR where Tommy was forced to constantly eat. Kaku also did that, where Seikai was forced to constantly eat and eat. I wonder how the PR episode would've gone if Tommy grew super fat and literally giant :lol) |

Kat: "Don't worry. In addition to a cat, I can also transform into a cheeseburger!" Billy: "...How do-" Kat: "NO TALK TIME!" *Cheeseburger'd* Like, as much as I love Kakuranger, that episode felt more fit to be a Power Rangers episode :lol |
Now what was wrong with Kat?

Adam's replacement of Zack wasn't as terrible because Zack's personality trait was "Black guy." |

Zack. God that first season of Power Rangers was dangerously close to racist.
"Okay, Okay. The Black Kid we got? Yea, he'll be Black Ranger. Use an Axe and Pilot an Elephant!" "And the asian girl?" "Her? Yellow Ranger. She'll use Sai, instantly know Karate, and pilot a Tiger! It's all so perfect it fits together wonderfully!" |
didnt saban or someone say they never noticed the color thing until it was pointed out to them too late?

The yellow ranger used daggers, not sai.

They're less blades and more "tiny prongs on either side", but fair enough. Both MMPR and Zyu refer to them as daggers regardless.

When I sit and paint figures I like to have some kind of noise on. In the past week I've successfully marathoned all of In Space and I'm not sure why I didn't do this sooner. I had never seen much of In Space before I think it's now probably in my top 3. I thought there was a lot the series had to offer, such as:
- Strong Mecha designs. I thought they are all pretty solid and the Astro Delta is perhaps one of the cleanest combos we've ever gotten. - The villains. I mean, anything is better than Divatox right? The generals were also pretty solid, actually having personalities and all. - Psycho Rangers. - Of course, the finale. Pretty awesome way to tie everything together and resolve all the plot lines. It was pretty satisfying. |
Just ordered my MMPR collection box so I am sure I will be watching that shortly.
Right now I want to catch the lat 4 eps of Samurai (which are onDemand currently) before the Megaforce premiere! |

Don't do that again. |

Ecliptor is a great character, no doubt. Great look and great personality. Heck even his name is cool.
But Villamax and his relationship with Trakeena and Deviot in Lost Galaxy was pretty darn cool as well. It wasn't as long a story arc as Ecliptor but Villamax was a damn fine character. |

With Villamax it's more impressive that he was made into this honorable character considering that his counterpart was a biker punk. |

And no little kid blue ranger! I hate you Justin. Hate. |

Vilamax...Was just a villain with a heart of gold. I liked him, but it just wasn't as well developed. Quote:
True Blue to the Rescue was awesome. Turbo was dumb, but Justin was a fine character. Rewatching episodes of Turbo again, for me, felt like rewatching Beast Machines. It really wasn't as bad as I used to think, and I personally like Justin. |
I'm not Justin's biggest fan, but I freely admit he's far from the worst thing about Turbo.
The series anyway, he's completely unbearable in the movie. |
