In Hand Images of Super Megaforce Wild Force Red Lion Zord
16 Attachment(s)
The always awesome Raz has gotten his hands on one of the first additional zords to be released in the Power Rangers Super Megaforce toyline, the Wild Force Red Lion Zord!
Based on the Gokai Machine Gao Lion from Gokaiger the Red Lion takes a few liberties with the design but makes full use of the zord builder system to create some interesting combos. It also includes the Wild Force Red Ranger Key! Be on the lookout for this figure at retail now! |
So much want! :D
|
This is one rare time where I'd fully take functionality over accuracy. The Samurai combo looks fantastic.
|
I'm liking what I see. It gives me more incentive to pick up the Legendary MegaZord.

That gold plastic looks pretty naff, but I stand by my statement that the samurai mode looks better than Shinken GokaiOh.

The front feet can detach, and I can't find a reason why. I've checked the instructions and the box. They don't even detach through zordbuilder ports. Gaolion's feet couldn't detach. This is strange.
|
Awe, I was hoping to see pictures of Shinken-Gokai/Samurai Mode holding the Rekka Daizantou unless it can't actually do that. I'm not sure which one I like more...I think I'm gonna wait to see the rest of the auxillary zords before deciding if I want to collect the BOA mechs or not.
|
It can. More pictures are on my twitter. @razzle1337.

I like this alot I really want it! :lol Thanks for showing us raz!
|
Love the Gaolion's seperate battle mode.BoA def has the edge here. Also made it so the lion head doesnt take up every possible inch of the chest, just enough to make it look right.
Also I think I figured out the foot thing raz.In this pic... http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1386454475 The front leg thighs have pegs on the front.Maybe those pegs fit in the hands of the Legendary Megazord and he can have Samurai blasters? |
I think they did a great job of translating GaoLion into a lower pricepoint, show accuracy aside. Where does the Rekka Daizantou blade go when combined into Super Mega Legendary Gokai Lion Megazord mode?

NO I AM NOT SAYING "BOA SUX AND TEH JAPANESE TOYZ ALWAYZ BETTER!" I'm honestly confused about how the Samurai Legendary is more streamlined when the Lion's legs are jutting off the arms and it lacks the Shinken GokaiOh's leg stripe thing. I'm still going to buy it probably. |
This looks awesome, can't wait for the other add-ons.

Yup, looks great. The Shinken GokaiOh is one of my favourite GokaiOh combos, and they do a decent alternate transformation here. Great job!

What I mean is just comparing the two toys as toys, completely divorced from their source material, the Wild Force lion looks better. |

Either way, great work mate. |

I now want to know how good their version of Kanzen GokaiOh looks.
|
Not bad! :D Even though many features were minimized,
it is understandable considering its reasonable price. |

I want it! I want all of it! Give it to me! Give it to me now! ...Yeah i really want this toy.
|
The levels of want I have for this are off the charts! Wow!

The legs sticking out the sides dont look like shoulder pads to me, they look like awkward lion legs sticking out the sides and look absolutely awful, far worse then the open doors do. The kanji all over the lion in both modes is also fairly terrible. The bigger Rekka Daizanto is nice, but the fact that its visible as a lion does a good job of making it a trade off. The JP version is definitely the better one still by miles, I honestly do not see the mindset behind saying its better when both modes are so downgraded in both looks and features; The lion is OK, but so was the Samurai line, which thus far the SMF line is comparable to.
|
It's not bad given its price.

I like the new Firesmasher. It doesn't have that hinge near the tip, and is very well painted.
|
The bigger Rekka Daizanto with no hinge is definutely nice, but it doesnt make up for the craptastic look of the Wild Force lion from any where but front view to accomodate it (ignoring the visible kanji) or the awful combined mode. Having a smaller daizanto, which the sword does start off as in the show (it grows during the finisher) is the better half of the trade off. This Lion is really the biggest downgrade barring the Legendary Megazord itself from SMF thus far. I'm interested to see if Fuuraimaru is hit as bad or if it succeeds in being a cheaper and slightly nixed, but still acceptable, toy like the Mystic Dragon and Delta Runner. Machalcon should get out unscathed though, considering the middke door is the only part used for Kanzen Gokaioh. Maybe I'm just looking at the glass half empty and should be more lenient to BOA, but this toy is a complete and ugly fail to me in all modes, both lion and Shinken.

Is it difficult to attach the lion leg onto the blue arm with its gold wing folded down? I've started to see that the front peg on the blue arm feels difficult to attach parts to. On mine it's won't fold up property without the wing getting in the way. I also noticed some of the stock photo combinations have the wing just pulled off, especially the Mystic Dragon combo.
|
Yeah, it's a little awkward. The wing just doesn't fold back enough. A lot of pieces can be detached and re-attached, anyway.
|
I gotta agree with Wonder, I don't see what makes this much better than Shinken Gokai-Oh.
In fact, dare I say it's... worse. |
