Not cool how the female rangers all must hit the red ranger.
|
Really? No Megazord? Really?!
|
I like it's morphin time is in there. But Ninja spin.. Not so much.
I all so like how the yellow & white rangers are boyfriend & girlfriend. It's been a Very Long time from when rangers were a boyfriend girlfriend thing. The zords are ok. Red bot is not a zord. hmmmm ok.. I still call B.S. on how they still act as if know one knows who & what power rangers are. Human's of earth know. With all of this said. This looks like a grate season. I like all 5 rangers. |
This got a 5/5 although there was plenty that could have caused me to give it less.
Cons - - After all this speculation on if the Rangers and their zords and whether or not it would be a Ninja Storm like transformation (ie: Kody the dog becomes Kodiak the Zord) ... we discover that no, no they do not. Not even close. They aren't even created, they just appear. That's very very weak. - Brody. Continues to not showcase his acting capabilities. I mean, the whole "omg my brother" scene felt so forced and so wrong. I hope he improves as the season goes on. Pros? Caleb and Hayley are pro's. The fact we have our first "start the series as a couple" couple is great. Sarah and Brody will probably get together and that leaves poor Preston as the loner. Poor Preston. |
Also it's pretty interesting that they're already starting the "Search for the Sixth (Gold) Ranger" arc THIS early.

Overall the acting seems to have taken a step back since Dino Charge, but it's not the worst thing ever. I LOVE the Galaxy Warriors show concept, it's like Hero TV from Tiger & Bunny but run by villainous slapsticky aliens. I feel like the characters are, for the most part, gonna be great for development-centric episodes, so far I like Preston and Sara the best. Heck, even Mick is starting to grow on me!
It probably won't be as good as Dino Charge but it's still gonna end up being lightyears better than Samurai and Megaforce. |
So Brody isn't a Space Human like Heckyl or Andros huh? Neat.
|
An attempt with a few decent points that make it just passable. Brody is not memorable at this point, but most feel like they haven't been fleshed-out enough. Honestly, Mick and the villains are far better to listen to! Mick is designed to be funny, and Galvanax has gotten more screen time than anyone outside of Brody! Despite the lack of explanation as to how the Zords come into play, this did show that certain details will not be ignored. We see the Prism and the sixth Power Star is inexplicably missing, which receives the earliest, indirect Sixth Ranger reference in PR history (save for Robo Knight). Also, Mick "creates" the Zord Stars when mentioning the legends behind the Prism, which he explains later. I'm also not surprised that the Megazord wasn't formed because of the Dino Charge copying. The DC first was PR-exclusive and the second used footage from Kyoryuger Ep. 1 which didn't involve combination. They probably wanted to introduce the Zords before they combine them, which is mildly redeeming because that means the battles might not be straight-up Sentai footage. Not perfect, but some potential remains.

This definitely felt more polished than the first episode. And it also felt UNIQUE, not just copying key parts from Dino Charge.
So Kelson Henderson is basically the mentor for this season? he's come up in the world since Boom days... also, Brody's actor remains the weakest of the cast. I really hope he doesn't drag down this season. |
I echo how cool I thought it was to see a boyfriend - girlfriend relationship established from the get go.
Zords were pretty cool, I'm looking forward to seeing more as I've not seen any of the Sentai footage on them. Sarah is so far my favorite of the Rangers. |
Brody continues to be the worst actor. Still not as bad as Troy though, since he can actually enunciated words correctly.
I appreciate them trying to make the Zords make more sense, but the puns are really bad. Also, the edit with them beating Ripperrat with the blasters was awful. Plot wise, there's some interesting things going on, mostly for the villains. Reiterating this, but Odius is definitely our real main villain. The motivation for the monsters is basically the same as Dino Charge, which sucks, but the premise of it is a lot more amusing. Also, Cosmo Royale is still the best. |
heres my rant about ninja steel, i feel like they should doing something different like ninja training, ninja lair, ninja suits, everything about ninja steel is screaming more mmpr than the theme itself, it would make more sense for the footage because how they know how the gear works?
it's like the saban way of just giving out the toys and let the footage handle the rest, that's not good writing, at least give a backstory of their powers or something. speaking of the gear, they summon the zords with the swords, not the morpher, they do spin and not on the toy, ugh, why cant bandai they just follow through from what's being used in the japanese footage instead doing things a different way? everything is so inaccurate with the show. another thing using the guns instead of the megazord to finish the monster was stupid, they could have just cut the individual zord fights and just go right to the megazord since the individual zord toys dont do anything anyway. |

I think the series will mellow with time. So will the actors. The gameshow concept wasn't terrible, but the overproduced lines and some of the glitzing of the toys...I mean weapons will go away. It's interesting. I used to be way harsher of the Sabanized versions of these shows at first run. Now I've learned to wait it out. Dino Charge I think helped a lot with that.
My biggest complaint? Nickelodeons scheduling. Always has, always will be terrible. |
