So.... Misora's powers are more than just "purifying bottles"... she can also heal people's injuries too? I guess that bracelet is going to be useful for more than we thought.
Hazard Trigger debuts next week, honestly a bit sooner than I thought it would. I thought we'd see Kamen Rider Rogue before the Hazard Trigger and then HT would debut in episode 23, seeing as how many major powerups in Kamen Rider debut in episode 23 in recent years. Then again, this is the first season in a while that has started in September as opposed to October so maybe Bandai want to keep the "Super Form" debut until March and as such this is when the RabbitRabbit and TankTank forms will debut, with the final form then coming around June or sometime. |

Watching the subbed version and I noticed a nice littlel Easter Egg
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DUEl4EdX0AAOAiV.jpg The poster looks like it could be referencing something familiar... |
That Barbershop scene was definitely something else.
Not only did we get that Black RX reference poster, but the fact that of all things, they chose to bring in Barber Kiryu, that one guy Soichi mentioned in an opening monologue when talking about why he named Sento the way he did, showed up in this episode was great. Also the fact that the Hard Smash Trio and Grease all got recommended there by Soichi himself is hilarious. That being said I love the quirky miniboss squad but it looks like their on a time limit now, not literally but the fact that if they lose, that's it for them, means it's only a matter of time till the heroes finish them off after managing to overpower the Hazard Smash Forms. |
This show. THIS SHOW. I love this show.
Things are starting to look pretty bleak for a lot of characters though. I don't think the Hazard Smashes are going to be getting a happy ending since they will die upon defeat now, and both Ryuuga and Sento are getting power-ups that are physically and/or mentally hazardous to them. I'm so ready to see RabbitTank Hazard even if it might be a bit soul-crushing. |
You know, since the main conflict at this point is collecting bottles from different groups, they should really have some kind of "Count the Bottles!" section at the end of these. It would help anal-retentive people like me keep track of what bottles are where without extensive research. Aside from that though, loving what they're doing with Build. I mean, they're making us care about the well being of the quirky mook squad! That's not something you usually see in these kind of shows.

Watched this and thought "man...those poor subordinate farmers." Thanks for making me care Build.
The title is misleading. I mean, you really didn't get the Hazard Trigger this episode. Unless the forbidden item is the concept of loyalty. Banjo's in particular was surprising. And he's right, Sento hasn't smiled in the last three episodes, not for real anyway. I really like that they're treating every character with importance. |
One somewhat minor thing really confusing me about the episode. How was Sento able to hid the Pheonix bottle? Wasn't it taken back by Grease and his group last episode?
|
It's seriously shocking how consistently amazing Build is. At this rate I'm going to hit that point I did with Ultraman Geed where I can't even think of anything to say besides variations on "it's really good" every week. Heck, that's basically what this post is.

I like that fact that instead of just going good guys and bad guys, they are going with the war theme to show that good people can be stuck on both sides. After this episode especially, it's pretty obvious now the Grease is a good person himself who loves his three followers and they in turn love and respect him. Whatever happens is bound to be pretty sad there. They could have just made them all evil, but they went a much more complex rout. There are bad people on both sides and good people on both sides and we even saw that the now HAZARD SMASHES basically just want to win the war so they can go home. There's not way not to feel for these guys.
Also, I got the impression from this episode that the Sclash Driver requires Hazard 4.0 or higher. That would explain why Sento can't use it anyway. |
Misora's healing power is unexpected. I think her new ability will be useful.
Can't wait to see Blood Stalk's next plan after he give Hazard Trigger to Sento. I has bad feeling about Trio Smash from Hokuto. I feel death flag from them because probably Hazard Smash Forms has some of side effects. |

A thought occurred to me. When Misora uses her powers without Sento's machine she gets knocked out for days, even weeks. She just used her powers without the machine and went unconscious. I think she's going ot be out of commission for a few episodes and unless Sento can create a machine to help her use her latest power, it won't be something she'll be able to use very often. It's like with the powerups, in this show great power seems to always come with a huge setback.

Off topic knowing Build's writer wrote Densha Otoko I kinda wanna watch it again. Been almost a decade and a half but I had good memories of that show. Also Sid from Gaim is one if the bbs users that gives Densha Otoko suggestions. :lolol |
Amazing episode, as usual. I'm in the same boat as Fish Sandwich in terms that I feel like I repeat myself when I just say how good this is every week.
The one thing I would've done a bit different is the Blood Stalk scene. It felt a bit weird that he dropped in all of a sudden, just to slide around the ground and touch everyone and then do the Dragonball power-level thingy. It felt a bit clunky and out of place. Aside form that, great episode. I love the twist with the Hazard Smash guys. Although I totally knew they would repaint them sooner than later :lol Also, surprise but Grease seems like a good guy. He will end up partnering with the Touto Riders sooner than later I imagine. |
Can we go ahead and call the Trio the T-Birds? Because of the Grease reference?
|
Almost forgot to add this: The way they use the Fullbottles in the Sclash Driver is amazing and I'm really sad that the budget won't allow them to go all out.
It's such a creative and fun concept. |

you know their probably dead meat after the MASSIVE DEATH FLAG they just raise. Also consider that the 3 idiots are the only ace they have grease is strong but hes only going one on one and its obvious thats the blue advantage right now 1 kamen rider and 3 monsters with their minds intact
with out those 3 grease is up against 2 riders whos strength is growing faster than his own and will likely overtake him |

welp,...I want a SHF Grease figure now.
Is it just me or does Blood Stalk seem shorter than the shop owner? The Shop Owner seems tall and Blood Stalk always seems shorter than those around him. ..not sure why that consistently bugs me since they're supposed to be the same person. Great show though and keeps getting better. Sento and Banjo have definitely grown on me as their characters developed. And Grease and Blood Stalk are interesting characters. Night Rogue is almost an afterthought at this point. |
This season is doing pretty damn well so far, and we have a pretty solid cast of colorful and interesting characters, plus a very clear mystery building up to whatever the actual threat of this series is going to be.
It feels like Stalk is directly trying to create powerful riders, even if he has to kill and harm people doing so, so potentially something far worse is on its way, and he has become a villain in order to fight it. |
And now Stalk became the living scouter and Kamen heads will turn to DBZ nuts yelling hazard levels stats don't make sense. Or so I hope not.
----- Also Build is now doing the most annoying thing Kamen Rider does for me: stealing and retrieving power-ups. It was annoying in Ghost, it was annoying in Ex-Aid, and is certainly annoying here. Riders losing and stealing power-ups tools from each other is another form of tiring, time wasting padding. |

Here's the thing about the power ups though, no one else is using them. Hey, I got a bottle! I'm not going to try it. Only Sento has done so. In Ghost, there was a lot of swapping. Same for Ex-Aid, I would agree completely. But so far with Build, the sub characters only use their own powerups. |
the thing is that i think that the smash get a power boost simply by transforming with them on their person. or it makes them grow stronger
grease has used full bottles but hes using the ones he knows which is something i have always head scratched with some power ups that it should take longer for a character to be able to fight well with now gear. but rule of cool and drama however i also see them taking the offer of more power as a massively bad move. You have 3 hard smash that when working together can out fight build in his sparkling form (if they work together and don't do something wrong which is whats happened because their dumb) which has a power greater than your own. while cross charge is not as strong as grease yet so the obvious thing is stay together and go after the bottles if they show up grease takes on cross and the trio build they would win with out the power up. Now with the power up they will die if they are defeated instead of the transformation canceling and saving their life. Its a poor choice and the wrong one to make at this point. I can only guess why but im guessing its because blood stalk don't really need them and he realizes that their combined force is too much for build to take on right now. The other is that its an excuse to make him do something thats reckless. Consider he is going to get the hazard trigger in the next episode and use it but its dangerous but if he uses it and he will we all know this trope what does this get stalk. I suspect what he needs is someone with a much higher hazard level than we currently see. WHY? I suspect the full bottles are not all he needs -he needs the 30 sets and the 6 panels and the box but i suspect that someone with a hazard levle of xx is needed to unlock the boxs power or unleash whats inside. either way i think its clear stalk picked people who he knew he could manipulate into fighting so he can get someone strong enough to do something he needs. I also suspect that stalk is some kind of body snatcher and that the cafe owner just a body being used and he will steal the body of the highest hazard level individual to preform something its the only conclusion i can draw from his actions. also whats the deal with the bat cobra owl castle and stag beetle full bottles whats their deal exactly |
I'm still waiting for Cross-Z Charge to have an actually good fight scene. Everything we've seen of the form so far hasn't really sold me on it yet.
|
also what is with him now having overload sparks. some thing is weird about the dragon bottle and the jelly made from it as build couldn't use it for long before he overloaded and burned himself and now cross is having these sparks and i know its made form his girlfriend but this doesn't seem to be only that it has to be more i think.
