Uchu Sentai KyuRanger Episode 48- "Throughout The Universe! Yossha Lucky!" Discussion
The final battle- Don Armage has built himself a "perfect" body & has absorbed power from across the universe. All that stands in his way are the 12 Legendary Heroes. All their skills will be needed to fight- but a little luck might go a long way...

Tokunmecha moved to cytu.be. I just missed it. Now I have to wait till KissAsian subs it. Dirty schmucks.

This was very nice ending to a very nice series. I got a little worried for a second when the giant robot showed up that they would just be going through the motions (after a great group speech, mind you), but fortunately enough, they did something a bit more special for the ending. I'm a sucker for a good bookend too, so Lucky riding into battle on a meteor and walking away from crashing a bike shouting his catchphrase made me really happy.
Overall, on its own it's not one of the best finales I've seen in a Sentai (it sure ain't no Go-Busters), but I was still left quite satisfied, and as a whole, I loved Kyuranger. It was an extremely entertaining series from start to finish and above all else it always made me smile. I know that's sort of a shallow point to make, and I can't exactly qualify it to anyone who were to, say, fundamentally disagree with me on just about every aspect of this show (hi Kiwami!), but Kyuranger had an energy and a heart to it that kept me anxiously awaiting the next episode even when it was going up against Kamen Rider Build and freakin' Ultraman Geed for my affections, and with how utterly amazing both those shows are, I think that says a lot. Needless to say, I'm gonna miss my weekly fix of all-star action, but I guess it's not so bad. After all, the show that's replacing it looks to be at least as fun and even more fresh. Talk about lucky! |

This was an excellent final episode. The group speech, the final fight, the epilogue, it was all fantastic.
|
This was a fun ride from start to finish. Beginning was rough and characters needed some work to their personalities but it was enjoyable.

I'm mad. There was no Hammy Lucky moment. Instead I got the bromance of Garu and Lucky. Grrr.
Also, the only thing that pains me more than Yossha Lucky is Grazie!. I wanted to throw up in my mouth a little. Spada just sucks. And no Spada, nine stars is not a thing. Don Armage was one of the worst final bosses. I don't know why, other than the repetitiveness of hitting him again and again. I think if they just screamed Yossha Lucky enough times it would have done the trick. Overall, I liked the series for some elements (theme music, powerups, mecha), but this was not my favorite Sentai season. The plot was plodding, the villains and the characters were kind of bland. A lot more could have been done with less characters. For example, if it had been just Stinger, Kotaru, Balance, Naga, Tsurugi, and Hammy, it would have worked just as well. Without all the Yossha Lucky. Oh well, at least it was a ride. Now onto GoKaiger versus DekaRanger.... |
I was so on the edge of my seat during this episode. This was a great final battle. Perhaps it went on a little too long, but personally I think it would’ve been a bit anticlimactic if it was any shorter. The call back to the first episode was really cool. The epilogue was great as well and a fitting conclusion to the series.
As for Kyuranger as a whole, it definitely has some glaring issues. The biggest being the unevenness in its focus of characters. Certain characters clearly get more focus than others and some of the plot points in the show I think could’ve been done better or outright scraped so that we can give focus to other characters. With that being said though, there’s a reason Kyuranger is the first Sentai in recent years that I’ve not only watched to completion, but also managed to keep up on a weekly basis. While it does have uneven focus on its characters, I still like most of the characters and the advantage of having so many distinct personalities is that you get a lot of neat interactions and clash of characters throughout the show. Aesthetic wise, the suit are probably the most universally praised aspect of Kyuranger and yeah, there’re pretty good. The action scenes remain consistently top notch throughout the show; they were really exciting to watch with all the different abilities each member has and each episode had some really cool cinematography. The comedy hits 9 times out of 10 with the occasional dud every now and then. I also really like the music especially during this final episode; it gave this feeling of grandeur and this sense of “Yeah, We’re going to save the universe”. If nothing else, there’s just something about the shows tone that made it a joy to watch. It’s the show that I’ll pop in when I know I have free time and want to sit back and relax. That sort of morning show vibe that I’ve been kind of missing for a while. But alas, nothing last forever. So farewell space saviours, and hello cops and robbers. |

and garu x lucky bromance makes more sense kyuranger is a okay series and they have a lot of problem(looking at you lucky and don) and yeah most of what they do are honestly a waste potential if they can make a better decision the series would been good but still it is still a fun ride and have a few good things i like the suit in this season overall this season gets 2,5/5 from me |
goodbye Yoshaa Lucky hello Persona 5 sentai

Not the best finale.
However, it hit everything accordingly for me to still be a good one. This was a great year and a great Sentai, and I enjoyed nearly every episode. From the Scorpio episodes in the beginning, to Orion and Lucky's father towards the middle, and of course, everything with Don Armage in the end ... great closure. Did it set a high bar for Lupinranger vs Patranger? Not especially, to be honest. However, it will be interesting to see if it can capture the same magic bouncing between two teams. Either way - will miss me my Star Saviors until their VS movie with Space Squad. |
Please let this be our next Power Rangers adaptation!
POWER RANGERS STAR CORPS IN 2019!!! |
Man i hope this is next seasons team. Somthing needs to make up for just how Bad Ninja Steel is.

10/10, would Yossha Lucky again.

It was a dumb show and I hated it. They had like one or two arcs that were good, the rest was garbage. The story was bad, the characters never worked IMO and it all went nowhere. The suit designs and mechs were okay and the action was good but it just wasn't enough to make the whole package even remotely enjoyable.
The finale was rather terrible as well - "Don Armage isn't dead, let's all do one big finisher! ... Still not dead? Again! ... Okay, this time for sure!" and the ending was just boring. Hey look, all those guys are doing what they said they would do, how exciting! Zyuohger got shit because it was too predictable and had a rather weak set of villains, but Kuyranger is just so much worse for me on all levels. Glad it's finally over, I hope the next season is better... |

I finally gave in to watch it on KissAsian and well minus the scenes that involved Don Armage, I kinda like the episode. Now if you added the Don Armage scenes then this was meh because Don Armage is just so fucking boring.
So we got Raptor x Spada and Lucky x Garu. I did like the passing of the torch scene where Lucky was used as a shield. Overall I would not recommend unless you REALLY liked the designs and idea. Otherwise this show was crap. |
Sigh, I was hoping Madako would be part of what Don Armage was, in the end they kinda made him even more boring then I could imagine.
Been a while since we had a really good villain in Sentai, the most interesting in the last years was the Emperor of Darkness, but in the end he was less a villain and more someone grasping desperately for the light and the warmth, his reasons ended up being more due to despair and want then actual villainy. The previous ones have been, kinda dull overall.... I had hopes for Ginis, the episode where he first just stood up made me SQUEEEEEE ! Aaaaand.....He ended up as a really flat....Boring.....Urgh..... I really liked Zyuohgerm but dear lord Ginis felt so rushed at the end it felt like they gave up completely..... Ninninger never existed btw......"cough"...."shifty eyes"..... Edit: Not saying Kyuranger was all bad, liked quite a few of the characters, it felt like they had no budget left for the show though so most of it was kinda, okay, not bad or horrible but not what I would call great or enough for me to recommend the show like Zyuohger, but the show did have moments I would call worth it, but this is more for the sentai viewer who has nothing to watch to binge when done with other series or waiting for new episodes of the current season. |
