Kamen Rider Zi-O Episode 30: "Trinity Has Begun 2019!" Discussion
The battle between Kamen Rider Blade & Kamen Rider Chalice is unlike any seen before. Woz may hold the solution- but he will need more RideWatches to make it work...

Hmm..If I am find a new link, I will post here.... |
Yeah Miomio stream is def stuck.

Wtf ohma zio telling sougo collect remaining 6 ride watches, so deno is still in. Kuuga and w made it in the movie, so it's canon. Wizard and foruzen appeared offscreen, but gain them as well. Drive might be back like ghost despite geiz stole the original from ohma. I doubt they can get takeru, so there will be another momotaros episode then.

I find low quality raw in Youtube

Woz : Be rejoice! Kamen Rider Zi-O has sealed Blade's undead power and Chalice undead power into two separate watches and turn them back to human! There is no more undead left in the world! A happy ending for Blade series!

White Woz: "Black Woz I don't feel so good"

Some of these episodes have so much potential like the Blade story line of what will happen if Kenzaki and Hajime meet plus we got the 2 main blade actors back (it's so much better when the main actors come back for these zi-o reunion arcs) and while the ending was predictable, I am not a fan of zio- trinity. It just looks and is dumb.

You know I was wondering how Zi-O Trinity was going to turn out, better than expected. A very final form ride/climax form transformation sequence.
And while Seiji Takaiwa isn't exactly prime for action and stunts anymore, his character suit acting is absolutely superb. Just the little things, like how even as a chest decoration, Sougo still does his little head tilt while talking, that stuff is the stuff I like. |

From the scene recreating the eye-catch from Blade in episode 29, to Kenzaki and Hajime finally reuniting, this was one amazing tribute to Blade. And not only that, but an excellent Zi-O episode in its own right.
Kenzaki didn't get much of an opportunity to interact with the Zi-O cast, but his brief explanation of the battle fight and the result of the two Joker's meeting helps cement this as a thoughtful continuation of the original series. And White Woz's plan in that regard is quite dastardly: Forcibly bring the two together using Amane as the bait. On the Zi-O side of the story, we got a great send-off for White Woz, who accepts his flaws thanks to Sougo and disappears, his timeline being erased. Black Woz takes over full-time as KR Woz, and we find out that Kaito was working for Oma Zi-O this whole time and that his goal was to steal White Woz's tablet. This means this isn't that last we've seen of Diend, at least I hope not. For Blade, I loved seeing all the flashbacks to Amane as a kid with Hajime, and the roaches from the final episode. I also enjoyed the effects they used when the monolith appeared again and had an abundance of Joker's lurking within. Another Blade stealing the powers of Chalice and Blade to become the last Joker was a good way to introduce Trinity as a direct parallel (and a good excuse for Kenzaki and Hajime to revert back to being human). Now that they no longer possess the power of the Undead, Kenzaki and Hajime are free to live as they want. The scene where they reunite with Amane is touching. 15 years later, we finally get resolution and it's very satisfying. And for once, the creation of the RideWatch's is beneficial to the situation the original Rider's were in. It seems like history no longer changes when RideWatch's are created so Kenzaki and Hajime get their conclusion without sacrificing the struggle they went through. Wish Zi-O's rules were like this from the start. And honestly, the premise too - continue the story of the original Rider's, not erase them. At least they realized how unpopular the original plan was though, so better late than never. Trinity was hilarious! Geiz and Woz turning into actual watch straps was silly and the giant room with the clock where they all reside makes for some good comedy, especially when the clock hand doesn't manage to turn all the way (I wonder if that was intentional?). I also loved Woz's "iwae" speech this time, full of "maybe's" and "probably's" because it's not foretold in his book. The finisher was pretty sweet too. Oma Zi-O appearing at the end to remind them about the RideWatch's they have yet to obtain felt like confirmation that yes, we will see the remaining Rider's get their tribute. Surprised that Den-O is there since Gen Forever seemed to be primarily a Den-O tribute, but I do realize they never obtained the RideWatch in the film itself. Maybe we'll see Zeronos return? The Agito preview was HYPE. I love the simplicity of Agito's henshin and I'm glad they are putting it to use in Zi-O! |
Wait hold on, I thought Geiz took the Ghost & Drive Ridewatches from Oma Zi-O, so how does he have the Drive one back then?

This ep was alright. The whole blade tribute was a good way to give Zi-O a new form with how strong another blade is.
I don't like trinity it ugly and tacky looking. The ending was the best it good to know diend is working for Oma Zi-O make sence why he in the show. He also had the book with him I wonder what he going to do next hmmm? |

I am almost blank on my memories of Blade, except that Hajime and Kenzaki must not meet or they will be forced to kill each other until one reigns supreme and thus the world is destroyed. All I remember is that Kenzaki is a boring lead that made a very importan decision in the end, a very Kamen Rider decision when Kamen Rider series are still manly (Kuuga ends up a world killer potential, Agito erased history by killing a God's manifestation, Ryuki DIED, Faiz is losing his health), and Hajime is an embodiment of bitter sweet tragedy.
Speaking of Faiz, Orphnoch King is still alive, right? |
Diend and decade is going wtf narutaki route ...
Their memories aren't wipe and still ages, so it doesn't matter. Blade and chalice will return to exile from fighting once they regain their powers. They're temporarily human now. It's pr mess that agito and ryuki police are still working without people "knowing about riders" . We have drive recently, but not most competent. |

And he's about 51, too. But I will admit- playing 18 different characters is a well-honed skill. |

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point they forget about that though since his "death" wasn't a main event or anything. |
6 more tributes. I'm guessing each and everyone will be very different in a sense we can't have weak another riders since ultimate form, gingaman, and tsukasa/schwartz/ohma will come in to play. We will be still doing tributes by 40s until xmas eps where clip show drops every hints as well as movie tie in. I supposed the time riders will be more important.
|
I do wonder how the rest of the tributes will play out. Den-O and Drive's actors are big movie stars; Kabuto's in America; I seem to recall something about Hibiki being hard to get... Kiva's actor seems like the only one they can reach after Agito. Should be interesting to see how they play this.
Either way this has probably been the most disappointing episode in a while for me. I was lukewarm on it just seeing images before, but now I utterly dislike everything about Trinity form and can't wait for it to be replaced. The scene with the two Wozes near the end borders on beautiful, but doesn't feel earned with how quick White Woz turned on his heel. The Blade stuff felt well-communicated as someone who hasn't seen it at least; I was able to follow along with it and I especially loved how much it leaned on that series' lore. Otherwise I'm disappointed that there was such great setup in the last episode but it ended in just kinda, rubbish imo. Haven't felt something like this since Doctor Who's Doomsday. Chalice's Ridewatch being there is interesting, though; given it only just won the contest not long ago. Must have been pretty last-minute putting it in there. I believe this brings us up to four non-main Ridewatches; with Tajador, Genm and Cross-Z, but this time we get some sort of idea of why it exists in the first place! |

Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
https://i.imgur.com/BoqCErM.jpg Well, I'll tell you one thing, it's definitely long past time for me to show my appreciation for the punctual updates to the opening, but better late than never, right? Between Trinity, Revive, and Zi-O II, we've had three forms added in ON the episode they debut in, which is arguably too far in the opposite direction, but I still remember how long it took Drive's OP to figure out Chase wasn't hanging out with the bad guys anymore. Or how Infinity Style literally never showed up in Wizard's. This kind of stuff is fairly minor, but attention to detail is an easy way to win me over. And Zi-O has definitely won me over, because as someone who's always been pretty violently opposed to setting anything Blade-related after the finale, I actually loved the episode. A lot, even. Go-Rider always gave me the impression Kento Shimoyama was secretly chomping at the bit to do something like this, and with Hajime and Kenzaki both available, all he had to do was write an episode of Zi-O around it. Which should be a mess, but once again, this show's scripts are extremely tight, and manage to make all this stuff gel together. It's wall-to-wall great character interactions for the Zi-O cast, with Sougo giving a speech to White Woz that can only be described as "distinctly Sougo", Geiz further cementing his development from the Revive arc, Woz Woz showing some signs of growth, and of course, White Woz, who came off so well here I've officially retired the Lame!Woz/OG!Woz titles to differentiate the two. It's very clever of the show to get rid of him here. He's served his purpose now that he can't manipulate Geiz, he's lost his Rider powers, and his notebook shtick probably would've gotten even older real fast if he nothing else to rely on. Seeing his rather... extreme reaction to all this definitely made sense (we've seen hints of his bad temper before), and his decision at the end did as well. Mostly. I do have a feeling we'll see White Woz again at some point, even if just in a flashback or something, because there's still a lot about his origins and motivations that were never explained. It seems pretty likely that whenever we get Swartz's backstory, we'll get his too, so I'm not too worried about it. Speaking of that ending, I actually enjoyed Zi-O Trinity a lot more than I thought I would. The biggest things going against it still are the redundant nature of the gimmick (I guess if you're already stealing time travel from Den-O...), and the slightly goofy Sentai robo cockpit, but even those, I can deal with. The design is one that looks better in motion. The theme music is great. The fight scene itself was a lot of fun, and while it isn't to the extent I was hoping for, I adore the story significance it has by symbolizing the bold new future Sougo and his friends are trying to make. Even in the opening, Regulus is shining in the background to drive this home. Between that, the new narration, and the new episode title format, I actually find myself in the surprising position of wanting Zi-O II to be the form that's no longer used. Even though it's still way cooler. Looping back around to the Blade part of the episode, though, I have a bit less to say, but's it's no less positive. The characters felt totally true to themselves, and just like with stuff like the Ryuki episodes, we actually get a decent character arc with Amane and Hajime for how few scenes they have to convey it. The resolution with him and Kenzaki becoming normal humans thanks to the Ride Watches sealing away their Joker powers is questionable considering Hajime can't go "back" to be being something he was only ever pretending to be using his abilities as a Joker, but, whatever. I'll cut the episode some slack. They clearly went all out to pack this two-parter with a lot of Blade fanservice (ableit deliberately avoiding memes) and I'm sure even if it's a bit forced, a belated happy ending for these characters is just what a lot of fans want. https://i.imgur.com/kcl3MVD.jpg I mean, the Day of Oma was like the single most important event in Zi-O's entire mythology, and they made it revolve around what Blade and Chalice were up to. What more do you want? It seems like something of a new standard has been set for the last set of tribute arcs we're getting, and if they're all going to be like this from now on, I'll be real happy. |
Oh wow, I completely forgot that Hajime's human appearance comes from him using the Spirit Card, and him having his powers taken away should by right revert him to a bug monster.
I could pick out a million other nitpicks, but I liked this extended epilogue to Blade. It need not be treated as canon to the original if one doesn't want, but I like that it exists. |
Man, you can just feel the love for Blade oozing out of these episodes. Someone involved in making Zi-O is obviously a huge Blade fan, based on what we got in these last two weeks.
I feel like Zi-O has finally pulled a Drive. The last several episodes have all been really good and I feel like all of the characters have finally clicked, even Geiz. I cannot believe I'm about to type this, but I really like the character Sougo has turned into. The scene with him talking down White Woz was really well done and it shows how much he's matured as a character and as a leader since the show started. If the show can keep up this tone, it will definitely be going out on a high note. |
Smh people are forgetting that becoming Chalice isn't even Hajime's power either as the Mantis Undead is literally the Chalice suit
|
The one negative point of this episode to me was Trinity's comedic nature hurting the whole apocalyptic atmosphere they had built really well.

Episode was good like the how concluded some what blades story. Now for me I’m starting think that shawartz is Oma zi-o using the another rider rider to test him self with would let Sougo know it him. Also are they really doing the hole using another agito as another agito |
Quick and dirty headcannon to solve this - over the last 15 years Hajime's been drawing on Spirit Human's power so much it's changing him, effectively doing an anti-Kenzaki. When Another Blade sucks the Joker powers out of him through Time Jacker Time Fuckery, his biology defaults to what it's been saturated with for 15 years. Easy.
But yeah, as someone who's just started Blade again, this was a very weird experience. It was good, but Trinity might be one power up too much for me, lacking any of the emotional punch of RabbitRabbit last year, or even Cronus the year before (I think that matches up, at least). The plot itself was fine, and it sure was nice of Oma Zi-O to shill the merch for Toei on camera. |
