It looks like Aguilera is betrayed
|
|
I am started to think the new arc will be begun. Maybe the new villains with a new demon type.
I think if the demons without human host as a new villain is really interesting. |
Hold on, why wasn't Daiji transformed or at least transform once they found out about Yujiro?
|
Damn Revice i see you... i see you
I like how straight forward this episode is "Yes the commander is fucking dead!!" With no joke We have Nice rivalry setup and damn the Lawyer callout Ikki as ego maniac also Fire too... Not mentioned the betrayal this episode is really nice setup overall |
I hope Aguilera is saved. Despite what she’s done, she deserves a redemption road! Hope Julio remains at her side.
|
So the dead man was a Deadmans the whole time. Yujiro's actor suddenly laughing maniacally was something I wasn't expecting however. I laughed too hard at that hahaha.
Also, George must have some real bearings to replace the Gifu Stamp with a Seihou of Kamen Rider 1. I would've just took that thing instead. |

The fact that the commander has been dead since the start might have hit them hard as well, but even so I think they planned to let them take the stamp. |

Yeah, I was expecting either a kill and replace or a kidnap and replace. They are going the serious route here.
Looks like we are nearing the end of the first arc then. I don't know if the Gifu summoning thing is going to work or not, but something major is going to happen with that event that kicks off the next arc. |
So it seems Julio might opt to save Aguilera rather than completely devote himself to the Deadmans. I sense a dramatic sacrifice in the future.
Anyway, seeing the captain with a massive grin and high pitched maniacal laughter was not what I was anticipating. I was kind of hoping he'd keep his serious and stoic demeanor akin to when he was initially staring down Hiromi. Oh well. Curious about who they're going to reveal the real Chameleon Deadman is. So, Ikki has no or very little empathy for others, and that's a good thing? Um, okay. |

Vice bassically says "Well if that who you are, why you so bothered by it, there is nothing wrong helping people if you think is right" To me none of this right or wrong thats why i think Lawyer commentary is Fire toward Ikki :D |
In regards to " they are at the club according to the previews " I do not watch the previews for the next episodes, if there is anything I have learned it is not to watch the previews for this show, as Rider and Sentai both for decades have liked to spoiler pretty much every episodes major reveals in them.
Not always, but most of the time I would argue. It is also why I generally do not read the forum that much anymore as people talk abit to much about upcoming parts or leaked footage/scans, not published but actual leaks. But I do put my vote in each week, not always part of the episode discussions though. But that is a me thing either way, as for the current events it can go a few ways, Aguilera will either fall to despair at the fact that she is a sacrifice, and likely a very vital sacrifice considering she has been raised from a child into the role. Or She might get really happy about it, it depends, I could see that happening, but it is probably more likely she will be turned into a damsel in distress which I honestly am not really a fan of her becoming, especially since she has been shown easily smacking the other big boys around and other characters without even having a monster form. |

But here's the catch: before that, the lawyer entered the bathhouse with his shoes on, which was emphasized. That is, he demands respect from Ikki, but he himself does not show it. And this is already hypocrisy, conscious or not. So Weiss is right about not listening to this guy. |

I do want to give credence to the lawyer's complaints, as I think it's a more interesting take on what's happening with Ikki's character then the show's provided so far.
As for Vice's response... even though the show frames it as a heroic comeback, it's very funny to me how much 'Don't address your flaws, just stay in your comfort zone,' is Very 'Devil on your Shoulder' advice. |

When you think about it, it's a contrast to when the hero tells the villain why they lost, At least in Showa terms. It would go to show how times have changed. |
Someone please help Hiromi, the poor guy.

Basically, good(?) intentions, bad execution. Also, considering how all demons in the show (that aren't Deadmans anyway) are basically manifestations of the host's repressed emotions/desires, it could be interpreted as Ikki telling himself that it's fine to keep doing whatever he's doing. |
Also, Amahiko Haitani (Planaria Deadmans)'s actor is doing an incredible job at portraying the guy as incredibly slimy and creepy. Like, I can feel my skin crawl just looking at him. That takes some serious acting talent to pull off.

I do hope Giff ends up being a good villain either way though. |
This is my favorite sequence, I forgot to say. I really like the close moments with Ikki and Vice, these are the scenes I want more from Vice.

That's how I understood that scene. It's fine for Ikki to keep going instead of doubting himself over what lawyer dude thinks about him. Quote:

Oh, probably this episode's the real turnabout for Revice, instead of George collecting 10 ViStamps. Things really changing much for . 2 of the major human villains Kudo and Amahiko settle their grudges respectively to Ikki and Sakura. And despite being billed as Deadman savior before, this episode actually displays Amahiko as someone only big talk, revealed to be a coward that prefers to save his skin by any means possible (including manipulating which doesn't work on Sakura) like letting Deadmans fight for him, and this elevates Julio in charge to force him becoming Level 2 Deadman himself. As for Kudo, doubling as reply..

Kudo may made a point, but if it comes from someone without any redeeming qualities, and regularly doing something far worse than just Ikki being clueless at times to the surroundings, it'd be only an example of gaslighting Ikki's actions to make his own actions justifiable. Other than how what someone says make a point, the person who uttered those words should be taken into account too. If it's Kudo talking about that, it's just an example of someone hypocrite, so entitled, would never take responsibility, lacking empathy to comprehend why an action can wrong but instead feels unfairly persecuted, and constantly deflecting blames into others. He's the last one to be lecturing it for. Back to reviewing. The Deadmans gain an upper hand due to something that is just so recent including to the characters, about the current Wakabayashi being Chameleon Deadman, due to Wakabayashi being already killed since 1st episode, with the scene giving heavy Evolt vibes of him killing someone in a flashback and switching faces, and using that to induce paranoia and posing as someone's hero to traumatize them... Hiromi. His laugh from the usually super strict demeanor he copied from Wakabayashi is also really upsettling, which means good job on that scene. Apparently George would just hand over the Gifu ViStamp without much thought, wonder what's in his mind for that. Not yet shown for Aguilera's backstory, but it's shown here that humans can be turned into Giftex, which happened to both Kudo and Amahiko. I guess Deadmans aren't inherent that way, and Amahiko will continue despite his newfound joke status. And another cliffhanger for Aguilera that she's revealed to be the sacrifice for Giff. Kudo's words really get into Ikki, almost breaking him, but this time it's Vice that snaps him back to reality, and it's done in devil-ish way by convincing Ikki to keep his flaw, so Vice being helpful stays loyal to his character of being a demon. But it's also more valid if the one lecturing that is Kudo, basically telling him to ignore someone who has no right lecturing others, and that it's not even about constructive criticism to improve oneself either. Sakura's full schoolgirl outfit finally shows up.. took this long that it was her first look at the scans. I wonder why Sakura's friends stick to her like glue even before she becomes Jeanne. Hiromi is at his limits now, beneath his straight-laced persona, he's always a really emotional guy, the betrayal reduces him into nothing more than a sobbing wreck with all of his bottled up emotions surfacing. The Chameleon Deadman didn't address Hiromi's emotional self enough... as someone who lashes out at Daiji for being emotional to want to become a Rider to catch up to Ikki. Quote:

Beyond Generations movie came out today. Will there be a thread for this? Curious if there were some Vistamp transformations we have not seen yet.

Stole this from Reddit.

So, the answer to the title's question is: Yes, the "commander" is the Deadman, but no, the Deadman isn't the commander.
Daiji was surprisingly and disappointingly useless here. Hiromi was useless as well, but he was also crushed with despair by the death of his mentor so I can totally understand why he would react like that. R.I.P. Wakabayashi, who was probably a good and innocent guy based on the few seconds of screentime where he was alive. Quote:

Being a lawyer, it makes sense that he would have such good insight in to Ikki's motivation for heroism. I've always had a feeling that Ikki was trying to overcompensate for a guilty conscience, which would explain why he's so obsessed with protecting his family and Shiawase Yu. He's a control freak who wants to take responsibility for everything and when confronted with that truth, he's not sure what else he can do. This kind of motivation can turn someone in to a villain if they take it too far, like denying someone else credit, so I think it's good for Ikki to acknowledge it here and for Vice to point out that it's okay to think like that as long as it doesn't do any harm. Ikki is a much better person now than he was at the start, when he was inadvertently condescending and overbearing to his siblings, while now he's willing to accept the possibility that maybe the fate of the world doesn't rest on him alone and that other people are capable of doing important things as well.
