TokuSHOUTsu
New streaming service for Ultraman, Sentai & Kamen Rider.
https://www.ign.com/articles/tokusho...-power-rangers |
Fuck Yes!!!!!!
Got excited only to remember it's for the US and Canada only. Bummer.
Yeah; I'm super excited about this and seeing where it goes, but it's not in the UK yet :( What would the reason be for that, anyway? I understand physical products like DVDs due to shipping and production, but digital media should surely be very cost-effective to make available to other countries?
Well, I guess this calls for a celebration.

Wow, Pluto TV of all things. For the international crowd, that's a free internet TV streaming service. And three letters of the remedy(?) that could possibly let you watch it outside of North America: VPN

I recommend getting VPN express for people outside the US. I use it to watch movies on Amazon Prime UK because the UK has movies that are not streaming in the US.
I've never heard of Pluto TV. Guess it's not in my area (because they mention a channel number)?

Oh. Thank you.
Knowing SHOUT!, Kamen Rider could be available on three different fronts:
- http://shoutfactorytv.com/tv - Tubi - Pluto TV This link lends credence to that assumption: http://ukiyaseed.weebly.com/ukiyasee...-united-states Anything else, like the "Let's Talk Toku", will probably be exclusive to the Pluto channel! |
Any chance we get box sets like with Ultraman?
This is really great. Hope they bring over a whole variety of Toku shows with this.
Great. Gives me hope that Shout will get things settled with Hasbro so we can see more Super Sentai on DVD soon, along with possibly Kamen Rider.

"August Ragone said that there is no home video release plan right now. The show would need to do well on streaming for Shout! to release on DVD & Blu-Ray." |
Really hoping that the streaming channel gets put on Pluto TV's mobile app as well, especially since I just downloaded it, hoping that SHOUT! Factory put it back up on tubi as well to give the show more ways to be seen.
Kamen Rider is indeed back up on Tubi.
This is great. Also big props to Squall Charlson he's finally being recognised.
A show hosted by Dr. Skullavich, sweet.

So, Tokushoutsu let it slip in the comment section of their latest Youtue video that a new show will be premiering on May 1st, they won't say what it is other than its not super Sentai.

I would prefer DVDs honestly, but beggars can’t be choosers.
Has anyone figured out how to find the on-demand Tokusatsu? I only see the live channel on the app. |

- V3: It's the next logical step as it followed the OG Kamen Rider. - Black: It's considered a high mark in the world of Showa Riders, and is directly related to... - Black RX: It is the essential end of Showa Riders and the technical start of Heisei. The fact that Saban used the series is probably not lost on anyone either. - Kuuga: The "official" start of Heisei Riders. - W: The start of the second decade of Heisei Riders. However, while another Kamen Rider is an easy speculation, there is something else to consider: Metal Heroes. Since the Toei YouTube channel debuted, it has served as the first official release of many older Metal Heroes, but preexisting licenses prevent some of the uploaded series from being viewed by Western Audiences. Metalder, B-Fighter, and B-Fighter Kabuto were all adapted by Saban, and the rights to those adaptations were part of the deal that Hasbro bought from Saban. A Metal Hero Series which was previously adapted by Saban is another logical theory to consider. As far as on-demand Tokusatsu: www.shoutfactorytv.com (ROKU App Available), www.tubi.tv (ROKU App Available), and the Pluto TV Channel this thread relates to. |
Nice. Blu-Rays, please.
One of my favorite Riders finally available on streaming?! This whole tokushotsu deal has been a dream come true.

This is, on its own, very exciting news!

Still, very exciting! As I'm learning from watching MCS' subs again, Kuuga had some really complex dialogue that frequently got really butchered, too, so hopefully this puts an end to that problem, and English-speaking Rider fans can finally know what Yuusuke was saying to Mika at the end of episode 43, among other barely comprehensible conversations. The subs for the OG show were fantastic from what I watched so far, but that show is a lot easier to work with, because it doesn't require you to be paying attention to subtext, or time certain lines to match up with certain bits of body language or anything like that. On the other hand, if we can get good subs for Kuuga, we can get good subs for anything. No matter what, I'm really looking forward to this! |
How does this work
cries because I’ll never get to see it
Will this be on TubiTV like Kamen Rider and Shout's Sentai releases are?
Finally, a reason for me to rewatch Kuuga outside of FS' thread.

Well, if Kuuga's older subs were infamous for being shit, maybe this will convince me that maybe the subs were just bad, and not the show itself.
I've been meaning to give the show a rewatch with the translated Grongi, anyway. |

Still trying to figure out how to even view TokuSHOUTsu stuff. I get a ton of PlutoTV channels on my TV, and Shout Factory's channel (so Super Sentai subs all Sunday), but nothing with this name. I wondered if it's a block that airs on a general PlutoTV channel, but I don't have a channel that's just PlutoTV.
My access to any of these is a byproduct of having a newish smart TV. I didn't even know channels were coming packaged with it. EDIT: Never mind, figured it out. Streaming service. I got confused because a lot of PlutoTV content appears on my TV for free; I have no idea on what basis. |
