Kami no Kiba - Jinga
Found a link of the raw episode 00 : https://oload.cc/f/hDGFj1vaTd8/God%2...Jinga_-_00.mp4
EDIT : aaaand it's subbed by TV Nihon transcription of the very few first seconds (it's in English in the show anyway but still) SPOILERS : "Once, the most evil being known to mankind. He took on Messiah, source of all horrors that plagued the Earth, but, was defeated. For a long time, his soul floated without aim in the darkness, but he was finally reborn as the one thing he hated the most : Light Of his past, he knows nothing, but he will know hope... and despair..." So that's it guys. It's a sequel to the post-credit scene of the movie. Episode 0 is basically 80% of the trailer, while the remaining 20% seems to be Ep1. Meaning the trailer didn't spoil the show, which is very good news to me. I thought the Mikage family plot would be like the first 1/3 or half of the show. I'm glad it's not. |

Weak episode 1. Until the last minute plot twist that is.
Mostly the episode is too much focused on non-Jinga thing. Usually GARO shows do that but not to the point you dismiss the plot much. I don't remember ZERO - Dragon Blood to b far from Rei or Alice for too long. Whiel this ep was too much focused on the 2 schoolgirls. But the plot twist at the end though. First time this situation appears in the franchise. So definitely interesting. |
Kinda have to agree with Omnikaiser on this, episode 1 focuses too much on the non-Jinga thing but the plot twist at the end is definitely interesting. Luckily it had an episode 0 because this would've been a poor way to start the series. And it looks like it has no ending theme. Shame. I'm so use to opening and ending themes in tokusatsu that it feels odd not to see one.

I don’t know, maybe it’s because I remember Makai no Hana, where Raiga sometimes wouldn’t appear until the last five minutes, but this episode didn’t bother me too much. It actually reminded me a bit of Karen Rider 555 with the insanely over-the-top bullying. I was fully expecting a standard dark Garo ending, which is why I think the swerve worked so well: we’ve seen these kinds of characters and this type of story before, so it’s all the more noteworthy when it goes somewhere different.
I wasn’t particularly hyped for this show before it aired, but it really has my curiosity piqued now. What happened to that Horror and what happened to Jinga when it bit him? |
Phew a quite good episode this time. I hope the last one was a mistake only.
I didn't expect the little brother plot would be solved so easily/early in the series though. I thought it would be the mid show turning point and Jinga having to fight his little bro (while fighting his inner demons) for the rest of the show |
Just got around to episode 2 (busy schedule this semester is leaving little time for watching stuff with subtitles). I should try to avoid slacking off on this because I'm really enjoying it. I feel like we got a bit of a bait-and-switch with Jinga's reflection, though - I was expecting Gold Storm Jinga to show up there, but it was just our current version without the coat. I agree that the show resolved the parents' murder plot a lot sooner than I expected, but at least this way we don't have to watch it get dragged out too long.

Ep. 3 was good. Go Maskuman !
I like that this show is more on the grey area between good and evil than others in the franchise. You can see satisfaction on Jinga face when he slash the Horror now he knows the result. And nothing prevents this won't turn on a "blessed with sucks" toward the end. |
On the one hand the episode is once again too much focused on the horror of the week like the school episode
but on the other hand I didn't feel it as boring as that one. |

OMG Episode 4. what have you done.
Funny enough I love this episode while 90% of it is nothing but the new guys being : "do you think Jinga is the real thing ? yeah he is the real thing. but what if he is not ? hmmm. but what if he is ? hmmm that would be great hope for humanity. but if he is not. hmmm. I'll kill him" okay guys can we move on now we get it xD But yeah as soon as the blue butterfly appeared in the episode. instant fangasm. and this ending omg. When Jinga was silent, and suddenly clouds got in front of the moon, I thought "oh the final scene will be the camera on the face of Jinga with an evil look" Oh boy i was not ready for what happened next, and it's the first time in a loooooong time I gasped without controlling myself. |
Okay, all caught up.
Episode 3 was really nice. I do like these done-in-one episodes with the sympathetic Horror host. The wrestler's acting was a bit rough in spots, but it was a fun episode. Episode 4 definitely had some holy shit moments. It's been awhile since I watched Gold Storm Sho, so I had to pause and double-check on something when the butterfly showed up, but that just confirmed my suspicions. Even then, I did not see the ending coming. I mean, I had a hunch it would happen as that scene unfolded, but I was still surprised when Jinga actually went there. I am really curious to see where the show goes from here. |
You don’t think Jinga will go back to being fully evil again do you? Wouldn’t you all wanna see him go into the path of a hero instead?

So I thought maybe Amily would be back. and seems like it's happening and she just won't voice Alva only. About the final scene, everything happened so fast that it confused me. Until now, every episode ended with a closing scene with the opening song~instrumental version in the back. But this time it happened in the second to last one. I thought something was of. But since Shijo was a new character, it never occured to me Jinga killing him coldly would happen. I thought "oh he will simply give him a warning. Jinga saying he knows Shijo is here to watch him if he goes on the wrong path" but no. jinga stays silent and the tension is going up. Then the butterfly appeared, then the moon being covered. Jinga is still not answering Shijo. I thought "Damn so there will be a cliffhanger on his face becoming evil maybe ?" and then the sudden thrust. Huge and genuine surprised gasp from me. did not expect that. All this happened within a single minute. so many emotions. confused. surprised. shocked. It's funny how this happened so fast. so far the show has been very slow about the plot. and suddenly this. It's like you're in a old car. Going at 60 Km/h and the next second you're in a Ferrari at 300 Km/h and you're almost breaking your neck xD Quote:
I don't know what it means or how you can be both at the same time though. |

Aaaaand Episode 5 is kind of a boring episode. up and down seem to be the pattern this season.
Though it's not as bad as Ep1 or 3. There are some interesting things to note. points of interest to me : - Jinga. He appeared in like 4 scenes only. In 3 of them he was the evil Jinga (talking to Touma scene, touch Fusa lips scene, and killing the horror scene). Now I don't know if it's me seeing things or not, but the scene where he was good was the scene all the characters were outside in the middle of the day, so exposed to light, and the scene were he was Evil Jinga he was either outside at night or in his "darkish" basement/hideout. I don't know if it's just an artistic choice or if there is a plot point about it. If you think about it, Evil jinga killing Shijo happened at night when the light of the moon (well. light of the sun technically) was covered by clouds. - Touma and Jinga scene made me upset. After the shocking ending last week and Shijo death, this scene was "Scuse me, what ? :/" "Touma : Hey Jinga where is Shijo ? Jinga : He is long gone Touma : haha he chickened out and ran away" end of the conversation and no Shijo dialogue again. Scuse me but WTF ? In universe even Touma should know Shijo was a Makai Knight in training and better than at least himself. How "he got scared and ran away lol" is a credible answer to his disappearance ? Made me more upset than it should probably but still. - Fusa's weird in that episode. But I think they're trying to hint at something that happened in her past (but from really far away, probably to drag it). Not that crying over watching a rape scene and can't do anything is weird but it still felt too much. - I know they already did this before in GARO, but they seem to hint more and more at "Human and Horror ? what's the difference ? Some are good, some are bad" I admit i would like Jinga to become some kind of grey vigilente. Killing bad people (humans AND horrors) and letting good ones live. But I feel it's impossible with the kind of message GARO is usually trying to convey. Nothing else to discuss aside of these for me. That's a fanservice episode like GARO do at least once in every seasons. Main girl fanservice. Cleavage/prostitutes/bargirls everywhere. Except there was Evil Jinga fanservice as well. And once again budget is so low you don't even see a fight scene this time. and obviously not the armor. I feel it will be my main complain at the end of this show. |

I had the same reaction towards Touma's scene. I mean the kid saw real shit happening until now and shouldn't be that careless. |
Personally, I kinda liked this one. It was pretty slow, but the bits with Jinga did a really good job of maintaining the tension from last week's cliffhanger. Even if the main plot wasn't that exciting, the few Jinga scenes really worked for me.
|
So with this series is that how they're going to play it? We get the back story for the Horror of the week. And did they turn Jinga into a werewolf? During the day he's normal good guy, but at night he turns into a evil monster.
I would have personally preferred them to just tell his story prior to him becoming a Horror. Which is what I thought that they were showing us with this series. |

Not bad Ep6 but. Eh. Nothing special to discuss except the inner fight was cool.
Low budget horror again. halloween mask on a dude = horror. And next ep seems not so good from the preview. Unless Touma is becomin an horror again I won't be hyped I think. |
Watched Episode 6. I'll agree with Omnikaiser, the inner fight was cool. It was definitely the best part of this episode and I can't wait to see how it'll play out in the future. The Horror of the week wasn't interesting and you can definitely tell they've exceed the budget or saving it for the later episodes as (like Omnikaiser stated), is just a halloween mask on a dude.
Next week seems like a Touma-focused episode. I hope it does better than the Fusa-focused episode. While I appreciated that they gave Fusa some attention and time in the spotlight, it felt like the writer didn't really know what to do with her or the plot. Although, Touma is the weakest link of the main 3 characters so I really shouldn't get my hopes up on next week's episode being good. We'll see. |
on a side note seems like they are not done milking Jinga's character popularity yet.
Right after this TV Show end, a theatrical play will happen named "Kami no Kiba - Jinga - Tensei (reincarnation)". Don't know where it's supposed to be placed in the timeline. the VR Trailer has Evil jinga talking to us and present bits of the play. at first I thought it's supposed to happen between the movie and the reincarnated Jinga from this TV show, but the "end" of the trailer seems to indicate it happens after the show ? VR/360° trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD9z...ature=youtu.be |
Aaaaaaand Episode 7. It's like a copy paste of the Shijo episode.
Nothing much happening. But still entertaining. And then the instrumental version of the opening that usually tells you "it's the end of the episode" happens quite early (18min mark, while the video is 24min long) => so yeah I told myself, something like the Shijo sequence will happen. And oh boy I was not disappointed. I didn't have the element of surprise like with Shijo, but still. Was he going to kill them both ? the dad only ? the kid ? 3~5min of pure tension. the fight between both kids was cool. But mostly because they filmed it in a weird way. Weird angles. Cam very close to the 2 boys. It made the scene very dynamic somehow, even if the cam was a bit too shaky at times. |
I feel like there's a few more people watching this now after decade is coming back next week for krZio.

I'm behind on this show because I've been watching other stuff. But I watched episode 4 last night and... oh my. I like where this is going.
|
Very interesting episode 8. Lot happening in it.
The horror in the garage finally didn't feel cheap. and this particular fight was cool and I didn't feel it overloaded with bad CGI. Ugai looks fishy. But the episode didn't really made it clear so I'm maybe mistaken, but he isn't really dead from my understanding right ? It was kind of a prepared move ? No mention of the slaughter from the previous episode. I don't really like when it happens, just like Shijo barely mentioned last time. Jinga is clearly not evil Jinga in this episode, but you can see he turns more and more into him. Becoming arrogant with his power. (Which is what Ugai wants ?) Quite the interesting plot twist at the end. And after seeing it I realized that the moment Fusa looked at the picture in the garage earlier was supposed to be relevant. I didn't bother to check, but the guy in the garage is probably related to the horror girl in the Fusa episode. only 4 episodes to go and I don't know what kind of ending they want to go to. My guess is Jinga fully turning in his old evil self at the end ? But I wouldn't see the point of this season if so... (except an excuse to make Jinga a protagonist) |
Episode 9. aaaaaaaaaaaand...
a clipshow ? Really -_-" In a 13 episodes show. budget must be abysmal... |

Masahiro Inoue directed ep. 9 ? Interesting...
Ep.10 : it's weird never knowing which Jinga is on screen, because he took bad decisions there, so is it because it's evil Jinga or him being stupid/under influence ? |
Finished the season with ep 11 & 12. Damn you Garo, I was not really expecting that kind of ending, but I guess you can't pull the "giant naked woman" trope every time.
To answer my previous questions: so yes, it appears "good" Jinga get blinded by his powers and took himself for the messiah, even if he was manipulated I think he went for really shitty decision and had it coming. As he is more concerned by Toma than Fusa in the end, one can guess he voluntarily sacrificed Fusa for his delusion. Maybe Touma soul become the shining particle we see in the end, and was the only one "saved" spiritually speaking. Ironicaly it's evil Jinga that released him. |
I'm kinda glad I fell behind on this show, since it allowed me to marathon the last few episodes instead of having to wait. Given the gut punch that we ended 11 with, it was nice to be able to go right into episode 12.
I've been wondering for a long time how this show was going to end. Was it going to be a redemption story for Jinga? A tragedy where he tries and fails to defeat his evil side? In any of the possible endings I'd thought of I did not consider this one. The whole final episode was basically a 24-minute extended "oh shit" sequence, with one bad plot twist following another. I have no idea what, if anything, will be done with Jinga's character after this, but if we never see him again this will be a powerful moment to end on. I really loved the final scene, with that one surviving priest gathering up the relics of all the fallen characters. I'm not sure what was up with that light at the end (part of me was expecting Ryuga to show up during that scene), but my confusion doesn't detract from the sad beauty of that moment. |
Didn't watch 10/11 and 12 on purpose to watch them all together since the clipshow was a disappointment.
I did now. I don't know what to feel about the show. I don't hate or dislike it. But there is no possibility to deny it was a veeeery weak show. Most people will enjoy Inoue's acting. but that's all. Writing. Directing. Budget. All of these were bad. Only the acting (and 90% of it is Masahiro Inoue) has to be praised. I wish the show tried more with the plot. I'm ok with Jinga becoming crazy because of his power, but it should not have been so sudden. It could have been made progressively. step by step. Jinga could have become obsessed with his power because it's the kind of power who could have saved his father, and that thought could have tortured him to the point of "I will never let this happen again" and go the dark route because of his obsession. Or when Priest Ugai appeared and seemed to make Jinga fight horrors a lot, I kinda thought he was doing it on purpose so that Jinga ends in his self loving "I'm the chosen one" state. But no. It would have been an interesting turns of event. Jinga changing should have been slower. What I don't like though, is this "I stab people with this Inga knife to make people into horror" plot point about Amili (and Jinga's father). Inga, horrors and gates opening was always something growing from humans themselves with negative thoughts. Now even a 100% pure guy can become a horror because of such a thing and horrors can basically be a zombie spread. Madou Horror was already something a bit similar in Yami o terasu mono but i think the people becoming forcibly madou horrors were still having a bit of darkness in their heart. Now about the gold sparkles, at least the story is left open for a sequel. There is no guarantee but who knows. Ultimate fanservice would be Touma survived and is this gold sparkle, and he comes back as the new GARO of this timeline to fight Evil Jinga. |
Very disappointing. I loved this show from episode 0 (kinda wished Jinga discovered the ability earlier so he can save that poor mother) but ever since that clip show, the show went downhill very quickly.
While Zero Dragon Blood is a perfect show to have 13 episodes over, this one feels like it needs the usual 25 so that it can help to develop Jinga's obsession with his power more. Him going crazy was to sudden. Budget is a huge problem this show had, even the episode 3 (technically 4th episode) which I loved, this is where the low budget starts to show, and Horrors being just makeups of their hosts are embarrassing. I hope there is a sequel since it's geared towards that, but I hope the budget is decent. At the very least they might make it a movie. |
