Pacific Rim Knifehead Gallery
15 Attachment(s)
Still counting down the days to Pacific Rim, Tokunation presents a gallery of Knifehead, one of the films many Kaiju (strange beast).
The only Kaiju in Series 1 released by NECA, Knifehead stands at approximately 7 inches tall and has 10 points of articulation, including a flexible tail and hinged jaw. The first Kaiju seen in Pacific Rim , Knifehead was designed as a tribute to the plodding kaiju of 1960s Japanese films; it's design intended to look almost like a man in a rubber suit. Knifehead's look was also influenced by nature, it's head inspired by that of a goblin shark. Check out the gallery after the jump! Want TokuNation.com updates on the go? It's definitely a cool looking figure. After seeing these in person I love what they were going for. But unfortunately the limited articulation does bug me.
And it looks like yours isn't the open mouth variant I've seen at work. Apparently Knifehead is being packed in equal numbers with a mostly closed mouth with tongue out, and a very wide open mouth with tongue out. We received 3 of each at work. |

I like it honestly. You could put him in any Godzilla movie and have it work, and I do like they pack varients equally. Might mean I can pick both up without having to sell a kidney.

I really love the water droplets on the figures, very nice!
He's such a cool figure. I got him the other day, and I'm still waiting on Gipsy Danger to come in the mail. I'm so excited to see this tomorrow! Remember to check if your local theatre is having an early 7 and 10pm showing of the movie tomorrow, mine is. |
Damn that thing looks awesome! Now my Retrofire Gosei Grand can have something to punch. He's currently playing Dice-O on Datas.

The biggest articulation issue I have with this figure is the exclusion of articulation at the neck and the two smaller arms; a simple recessed ball joint to give the head and arms some dynamic options. Regardless of what perceived shortcomings I believe the toy might have, it still works for me.

Articulation or no,it's good looking.I have a Isaac from Dead Space 2 that sucks for articulation, but I love looking at it.The only thing I have against the Pacific Rim toys is how bright they are, especially the jaegers.
