Level-Up! A Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Toy Thread
I'm a little surprised we don't have a thread for this quite yet. Since we now have access to the toy catalog's images, perhaps now is a good time to start one?
I'm looking over my options to order one of the LVUR toys, although given my experience with the GC01 Ghost (quickly wholly replaced by the Figuarts version), I may skip straight over Ex-Aid and pick up Brave or Snipe instead. I'd kind of like to see how the level-up gimmick works in action. It looks like at least some sites are taking preorders in advance, but not all of them, and only LVUR01. Are you interested in picking up any of the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid toys? If so, which interest you? |

Wow. The Gashacon Sword is actually painted? That is unexpected.
The LVUR figures actually look pretty decent, outside of the fact that like the Ghost ones they don't appear to be able to move their heads very much at all. |
I want the Ex-Aid Eyecon. Hnnng.
|
The LUVR figures sold out quickly on AmiAmi. I went insane and ordered Brave, Snipe, and Genm/Genmu on HLJ. (I figure I'll wait on the Figuarts version of Ex-Aid, but I want someone for him to tangle with once he shows up.)
Ah, I just read that only LVUR 01 will come with the parts for the Level 1 form. That's... an interesting decision, given that if someone wanted to display the different Level 1 forms together, they have to buy Ex-Aid four times. ...come to think of it, I don't know why this annoys me, since I don't - so far - actually like the Level 1 forms. |
So what's the change gimmick that Ex-Aid will have for the figures?

There's also sort of a gimmick with Lazer since he's a bike but can transform into a humanoid with the help of the Chanbara Gamer. ..Hm. I wonder if Lazer can fit in the Level 1 shell. He should be able to since he does have one in the show, but he is a bike... |

So just to clarify, how do I go about obtaining one? I have to buy the Game Driver in those dates?

However, online sites don't always include promotional campaign items like this one, at least from what I hear. I haven't every really tried to get any of these campaign items, so I wouldn't really know, but I've heard conflicting reports about some stores and like, the panda from Zyuohger. Hard to say. |

We have some high-quality pics of the DX Taddle Quest and Bang Bang Shooting Gashats, and I love the videogame-esque box arts they rock. I didn’t realize this before, but I really like how the Riders are modeled after characters from their respective games. Yes, they obviously designed the Riders first and then their videogame counterparts, but I like it.
The knight from Taddle Quest has a similar flame & ice sword with two gems taking the place of the buttons and the Bang Bang Shooting guy has the same helmet with the green hairpiece. The mockup product numbers and rating board symbols are a nice touch also. |
The knight from Taddle Quest Gashat remind me to Black Luster Soldier from Yu-Gi-Oh! card game....
The sniper from BangBang Shooting Gashat has diamond-like body and his face remind me to some of Transformers... |

Thanks for sharing those! It's interesting to me that if they had appropriate paint apps for the Driver and weapons, you could mistake them at a glance for Figuarts due to the good articulation and great paint (for the stuff they paint at all.) I'm also amused by how much I prefer the look of every non-Ex-Aid Rider.
|
I'm actually really interested in Ex-Aid's toyline. I thought I'd stop with Ghost since I spent so much on the Eyecons, but the Gashat and Gamer Driver look pretty fun to me.
I wonder how the gashapon and candy toy versions will work with the Gashats? They look much bigger than previous Rider collectibles. |
Damn. I might have to preorder Brave and Snipe too. These are looking great.
|
I keep forgetting to mention this, but some info on what I guess are the gasha Gashats is up on dai4. They're "sound Rider" versions and appear to come in sets of two. First one has Mighty Action X and Taddle Quest, second has two mystery ones (probably Bakusou Bike and Bang Bang Shooting). The rare versions are metallic.

Looks like someone got their hands on Shakariki Sports early. I gotta say I love EVERYTHING about it so far. I might be in another Lock Seed situation with these. |
Yeah these seem very lockseed-esque to me. Which is good since this means I will get a good amount of sounds ot of these without needing the belt.
|
Sorry double post...
|
Hmm...since Shakariki Gashat is Level 3-type Gashat, I am really curious if Level 3-type Gashat is inserted into Level 1-2 slot in Gamer Driver (usualy Level 1-2 slot used for basic Rider Gashat such as Might Action X, Taddle Quest, BangBang Shooting, Bakusou Bike, etc)....
Maybe Level 3-type Gashat has new Rider suit if this Gshat inserted into Level 1-2 slot ...... Hmm...anyway, k2eizo already uploaded toy video about sofubi Ex-Aid Level 1 and sofubi Ex-Aid Level 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNDhLQihuMY Hmm...since Level 1 armor only in LVUR 01 Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, I hope other Ex-Aid Riders will has Level 1 sofubi too... |
Tentatively placed an order for the DX Taddle Quest and Bang Bang Shooting Gashats from HLJ since they went back up. I don't want to get all sucked into the toyline this time around, but the Gashats look like really neat toys so I think I'd at least like to own the main Riders'. We'll see whether I can afford to commit to it or not.
Even if that's the case probably will not be picking up the Gamer Driver or Kimewaza Slot Holder in a long, long time. Well, maybe the Kimewaza Slot Holder. Those usually don't end up costing too much in the aftermarket. On the other hand this time around it actually has a main Rider's item so... The gashas could be a nice alternative, but considering they're called the "sound" versions I am guessing they just have the sounds, no lights, and the lighting up of the clear parts of the Gashat is one of my favorite things about them. We'll see. |
I am currently attempting and failing to resist the urge to buy the belt and a bunch of Gashats. I haven't had many urges to buy rider/sentai toys, even trying to limit myself to just the one belt, but Ex-Aid seems to be grabbing my full attention now. Though if I do end up getting it, I'm going to attempt to get the Proto Mighty promo thing, so that should give me time to save up money/talk myself out of it.

Dissappointed that there isnt a way to somehow remove the eyes from the Level 1 face when its on the back.

On display alongside the Super Miniplas and Gundam candy toys were Ex-Aid's upcoming 4" action figure line called SO-DO. We've seen Stage (wave) 1 before (Lvl1, Ex-Aid, and Brave), but this display includes prototypes for Stage 2 (Snipe and Genmu) as well.
http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1474666379 http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1474666379 Stage 1 will be out sometime in 11/16 and Stage 2 in 12/16. Source: http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-5/%e4%...1%95%e5%93%81/ |
Whaaat...?! So this is... what? Essentially Ex-Aid minipla, but figures rather than mecha? Those kinda look like stickered details.

Think ShodoVS or Motion Revive Series, but with less paint, more stickers, few less joints, and a useable form change gimmick. |

It looks strange when Level 1 eyes part is cannot removable after Ex-Aid transform into Level 2 Form. I am also don't like coverless Ex-Aid Level 1's back. They should be create back parts to cover Ex-Aid Level 2's body when he still inside in Level 1 armor. Quote:
I am really love Gamer Driver and all unique Riders in Ex-Aid series. The unique eyes in all Ex-Aid Riders looks fresh and their eyes remind me to some of anime superheroes eyes and Gundam eyes (in chibi version) ... |
|
|
Interesting. It's all... backwards-y.
|
Yes....I think this is first time we has backwards upper part on Kamen Rider toy box...
Anyway, here video about DX Gamer Driver with Kimewaza Slot Holder: https://web.facebook.com/JHERODOTCOM...4110068664862/ Hmm...I am really want each Level 3 Gashat has Rider suit when inserrted in Level 2 slot on Gamer Driver..... Since Genm can summon his bike when his Shakariki Sport Gashat inserted in Kimewaza Slow Holder, maybe when Ex-Aid's Level 3 Gashat inserted into Kimewaza Slot Holder, he can summon chibi robot to support Ex-Aid in battle because Ex-Aid's Level 3 armor come from chibi robot..... |
I wish they would stop with the extra lip above the box, it limits how and where you store it if you don't want to damage it.
Here's the demo of the Gamer Driver, mighty action x and shakariki Sport gashat again, sorry if this breaks any rules but I just couldn't get it to embed on my last post and I figured a random youtube link looked pretty scarry coming from someone with so few posts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh9EXeS9AJ8 |
