Everyone gangsta until Aruto whips out Metal Cluster Hopper. Also, I feel like there was a few minutes between EP 22 and 23 seem missing. Aruto already knows he can't use any other Progrise keys and the contest is nowhere to be found.
Hilarious too that Match's Best Match for the woman was Gai. Aruto's reaction was mine as well. |
Gai: I am eternally Twenty-fou...
Izu: YOU'RE FORTY-FIVE YEARS OLD, DEAL WITH IT. :lolol |
OMG this episode :lol
I didn't understand a word and it was already hilarious :lol Plus - Metal Cluster Hopper is still badass. Really cool looking form with an amazing concept that they work with perfectly. Splitting the armor into two copies of himself for the finisher was great. The overall action was fantastic too - Valkyrie finally got to fight again and the way Vulcan snagged the Authorise Buster from Zero-One was sweet. It seems next week is our "heroic" transformation for Metal Cluster Hopper and the HumaGear that Aruto met so far will play a role in this. I'm down for it, but I do hope he retains some of the abilities he had prior and won’t just resort to hitting people with his new sword. |
Wait, last week had Fuwa putting in all his strength to rip off Zero-One's driver when he actually could have just pulled out the Metal Cluster key really easily like Yaiba does in this episode? ...Actually that's completely in-character, isn't it.

Fun episode. Humour was on-point, I laughed out loud at a lot of parts. Match was a great character and the guest of the week plot was brilliant.
Only thing is, maybe this wasn't the right time to be elaborating on Aruto's loss of control with Metal Cluster? The two sides of the plot felt at odds. At times it didn't really feel consistent with Aruto's character giving into his anger from the last arc, considering how he interacts with Gai this time around especially. Him gaining control of the form so soon without really exploring that character trait seems like a wasted opportunity. But next week could change my mind. Seems to be an all-around plot episode with no special guest (though we appear to get a lot of familiar faces). Good excuse for why Aruto HAD to use Metal Cluster Hopper. Both fight scenes were incredibly well-choreographed and it was nice to see Valkyrie again. Stand-out moment for me was Fuwa's sick AuthoriseBuster disarm. That was brilliant. |
Subs for this one are out and it's funny as hell. The swearing scene is too good.
I do agree that I wish there was some more significance being routed towards Aruto's current state with Meta Cluster Hopper, but at the same time, it isn’t treated lightly either. I'm honestly quite surprised how much I enjoy this. I feel like other shows can’t get away with a concept quite like this one. Because if you write down on paper what happened this week with the subplot and all – "WTF" comes to mind. |
Aruto'd grandfather must have sworn like a sailor for Izu to learn all those words.
Nice to see Eiji back as well. |
Wow so all the previous Humagear will be featured a bit? Excellent call back?
One thing missing from KR series were call backs like this. These Humagear characters aren't just one shots! Lovely, looking forward to next week! |
I don't know how they managed to combine this goofy comedic episode with the horrifying stuff around MetalCluster, but somehow they pulled it off. I was especially happy to see Valkyrie fight again, and using Lightning Hornet's drones to counter the swarming grasshoppers was a really cool move even if it didn't work.

Yua's robotic delivery of Gai's dating bio is just...on point :D
Well, Valkyrie finally henshins again, and using Lightning Hornet is just good too. But who gave Raid Riser to our misunderstood lover? And why gave it to him instead of her former fiancee? |
Yua made a face when Aruto suggested that Gai made her recite it.
And yes, totally believable that Gai would make his staff recite his own written basic introduction. |

The ex-fiance probably just wanted to move on from life. This sort of getting sued shit does tend to kill romance and thoughts of marriage. |

Okay yeah this episode is clearly padding for Metal Cluster Hopper's true debut.
But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this episode. This episode was great! -A nice quick scene that gives us all we need to know on the Metal Cluster problem. -Fun little cameo from the VP and his assistant. -Yua's robotic and clearly bored delivery of Gai's resume, only for her to have to stifle a laugh when Match points out all of Gai's terrible aspects. That entire matchmaking scene with Gai in general was just great. -Yua actually fairing well against the Penguin Raider to where I don't really see why we needed Metal Cluster in the first fight aside from letting the Raider get away. -Bringing back the Actor Humagear from the Movie Two-Parter as the priest was a nice callback. -Also that swearing scene and how Izu looks like she regretted all of the choices that lead up to that moment. Her expression really sells it. -Not to mention the little touch of Match still having some of his protocol intact while he was a Magia. Putting himself in the way of Metal Clusters Finisher just to keep the Raider's damage to a minimum so he and his childhood friend could get closer together as a result. |
Quite a fun episode. Yua snickering when Match was practically insulting Gai was great. And the swearing... that was awesome!

I felt like watching a completely different show this week except for the fight scenes.
Very humor packed. But I don't know why, I both found it very fun but also "meh" to watch. Maybe that's the girl of the week behavior. I didn't like her. On the other hand, while it's many weeks I'm unhappy about the "no real character development" this arc had so far, this episode proved that you can do it even without exposing backgrounds or making long dialogues and stuff. Every Yua and Aruto scenes did tell you something somehow. The "are you held hostage" reaction, then few seconds later the laugh when Gai is mocked, and finally the look she gives at the very key she created after the first fight scene are enough to characterize her. Please do that kind of stuff more. |

Not gonna lie though, that lovestruck girl is pretty cute.

Wait, did Match purposely accepted becoming a magia? Didn't the other Humagears have at least a second of resisting before changing. Match on the other hand went with it just to help girl and her friend to get together. Or maybe I missed something in my sleepy daze.

Good episode, had humor, character development, and good fight scenes.
Glad we're away from "The Contest", I really think that was dragging me down and making the show not enjoyable. |
