Omg omg omg what a twist!
|
Thanks for posting the raws, dude.
He's an alien, She's an alien cos we're all aliens. Sorry I love Good Burger. But the Stark twist actually got me surprisingly |

To be honest, this makes me wonder whether Katsuragi lied about the Blood Stalk suit having a voice modulator to hide their identity. That was the reason given for Stalk having a different voice in suit but after this episode I have to question that somewhat... |

I love it because the main protagonist doesn't get the superpower lottery by being the only special person.
In terms of writing, they give almost equal billing to everyone. |
Huzzah for the BuildPhone bike's grand return.

Man, I think Banjou not being human has finally given him his first potential death flag!
Now, I haven't been really looking at leaks for this show, so don't tell me if it has been revealed in those, but I think Banjou is Evolt. This could be a really cool twist on your typical secondary Rider if it is true! Of course, Blood Stalk seems like he might be an even more likely candidate since he is so openly antagonistic and actually knows the Queen of Mars. I usually think of Build as a more dramatic show, but the humor in this episode was also spot on. I can't wait to see Cross-Z Magma in action next week though, it looks so cool! |
Maybe when Soichi touched Pandora's Box, Evolt's spirit must of possessed him, and he's trying to fight him off from within. Would explain why he knows what the Box does.

Especially as the monthly TV-kun say 'Blood Stalk gets a power up next month' or something, and Evol debuts next month. |

Banjo's supposed to be hope according to the queen, so I doubt very much he's the bad guy.
I'm thinking we have three Martians here. The queen is dead, but possessing Missora, although she only talks over when necessary and her power is can only be used so much before it runs out. Soichi is possessed by Evol and it seems like they both share control, given by that conversation we saw them have. Banjo is not possessed at all, but is an actual full Martian stripped of his memories, possibly by Stalk. No idea other than that. Given that he created a bottle himself out of the ruined Dragon Jelly, he definitely has at least some Martian powers like the other two. Some interesting new reveals for sure. Looking forward to Magma next week. |

What a tweest!
So Banjo might be a martian, and Souichi is actually possessed by who appears to be Evolt (who I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually related to Vernage in some way). Gentoku has also learned about Nanba Heavy Industries' end game and might end up defecting and forming an alliance with the other Riders. Holy shit things are heating up fast. |

Man, regular ol' Cross-Z, Build being "wanted", AND bike action for me to screencap? If the story wasn't still completely bonkers I'd say this was a very retro episode of Build! For real though, remember when he used to fight monsters? Anyway, I skipped out on the last episode's thread because at this point I genuinely have run out of things to say about how amazing this show is that I haven't already said, but I did manage to come up with one new thought: Even the things about Build I don't like, I like. Namely, Sento pretty consistently gets a bit shafted in terms of focus considering he's the title character, which should frustrate me, but between the more ensemble story they're telling being so great, the fact that they still do give him his big moments, and the inexplicable ability of the constant tongue-in-cheek dialogue about it to actually be funny, I just can't find myself caring that much. I mean, I was calling Ryuuga the real protagonist almost right away, so in a sense I guess this is what I was asking for. Speaking of things I was asking for, I wonder what the odds for more bike action are? Build's been following roughly the same pattern as Ghost when it comes to actual Masked Riding happening, and I'm pretty sure around episode 30 was the last time anyone was on a bike in that show, so... yeah. Maybe one last time around the finale if we're lucky. |
I noticed that Banjou's transformation into Cross has a brief explosion of flame. At first I wondered if it was Stalk that burned and changed the Dragon Jelly into a new bottle or whether it was Banjou himself, since I'm also wary of twists.
Doesn't seem that way. Looks like Banjou does have some hidden power as well. Anyway, good to see Cross back, preferred that costume design over Cross Charge. And loved that fiery explosion when he transforms. Also additional minor detail. I think he vented off more gas than Build's own transformation. |

I agree that if the bike doesn't appear regularly again, we'll likely see it in the movie and near the finale, as well as any more specials in the works. |
Not sure what is the big hoohah over the bike. Its not like Wizard or Fourze or OOOs where the vehicle plays a part in the Rider's powers.
I don't think the story suffers from a lack of bike. |

I do have to wonder why Riders don't use their bikes more often. I heard it's because it's expensive for them to close off city blocks in order to film them, but we got car action in almost every single episode of Drive.

Pretty appropriate. |

Not too big on the whole revelation that Ryuga has this super secret backstory. I don't think something like that was necessary for his character but we'll see how it plays. Also kinda wish Cross-Z Charge had a better send off though I doubt this is the last time we'll be seeing the form considering the original Cross-Z form returned in this episode. Aside from those nitpicks, still a good episode, good action, good humour, good interactions, and Magma Knuckle is pretty hot.

So what's gonna happen to Sento? Hope he's not banished from Touto. What? Is he gonna become an exile to all nations?

This episode was great, I chuckled at... https://i.imgur.com/YcHMD6I.png ...and then when she collapsed into his lap and he pulls out his wallet going, "ok how much is this going to cost me." I laughed out loud. The action was pretty decent as was the surprise twist. I really liked how the three riders in the Tower at the end of the episode, right as the fight started Grease did a big, flying Superman punch where he cleared the room in one jump. Looked very cool. A bunch of the camera work in that fight looked really nice. It's hard to say the same thing every week but this show is so good and really keeps me on the edge of my seat until next week wondering what's going to happen next. I may be the only person I guess who really liked Cross-Z Charge, I'm sort of bummed to see that costume over with. I really liked the translucent blue helmet. Cross-Z Charge and Grease having translucent helmets just looked so cool and unique and new. |
My problem with Charge is that Banjo gets a new belt only to now go back to his old one because his Gel happened to get burned. It's the order of appearance more than the suit itself.
Maybe if he had switched between the belts over these past few episodes as needed, like Kaito/Baron did at the end of Gaim, it wouldn't be so jarring. |

LOL at Sawa's face. 🤣🤣🤣

Man, this show just keeps getting better and better. The Banjou reveal seems a little out-of-nowhere, but that's the only real issue I'm having here.
I really liked how this show is handling the comic relief scenes like that recap bit with the dolls. |
Maybe stark gave Misora the bracelet before he scumble to the power of the pandora box in order to stop Evolt or it was just a way to purify the bottles. Besides being possess or not, the box can make everyone lust for its power, so stark is mad for a very long time. Banjo could be an artificial Martian or a human that's converted in to one through experiment like dark Kabuto.

You know, I should be angry at Banjou having a surprising, super secret backstory but I'm not. One of the things that has always made Build stand out from the rest of the Rider shows was how every element was incorporated into the story ranging from Stalk's facial manipulation power, Misora's idol status and Gentoku's presence at the Skywall Incident. The show has not even shied from using the same element twice, like Sawa's traitor status and Utsumi returning from the dead.
Which is why Banjou having nothing special excerpt for a, standard human experimentation and dead girlfriend backstory always rang hollow. As if he was only a Rider because he was a Rider, a tautological entity, if you will. Compared to Sento's very existence, the Isurugi family's past and Kazumi's tragic circumstances, Banjou came across as a bland, hot-headed idiot who just happened to be part of the story. Some might argue "But Leo Novum! That very fact makes him a hero! He shows that ordinary people can be Kamen Riders. He is the right man in the wrong place! He is Banjou!" To that I say no thank you. As I mentioned before, Build has a well executed plot which leaves nearly nothing out so it was obvious that Banjou Ryuuga, the man without a past, would eventually become more important to the plot. That is why Banjou Ryuuga being a Martian makes perfect sense. In fact, I am calling out right now. Banjou's dead girlfriend, Kasumi, is going to be important to the plot again. She either knew who he (Banjou) was or she is going to become one of Banjou's split personalities, turning Banjou into Mahou Shoujo Cross-Z. |
What about Sento stealing a dollar from PM? Is he gonna end up arrested or exiled?
