Spanner is pissed off that the AU's top brasses ignored Glion's schemes and abandoned the AA members during the recent crisis, yet still have the audacity to command the AA members to keep doing their bidding. Now that Glion's been revealed as the mastermind of the incident a decade ago, the AU's top brasses simply say that they're mistaken about the AA members, but they keep commanding the AA members to collect the remaining Chemies. Don't they admit how easily they were at being duped by Glion? At the very least, they should clear Fuga's name and restore his reputation.
The top brass mentions Glion's status as the hero @ 06:37. Buuuuuutttttt... Glion's been missing for a decade after being defeated and incapacitated by Fuga in the duel right after the incident. Didn't they suspect anything about Glion? How could he (who was deemed as the hero) go missing at the same time with Fuga (who was deemed as the culprit) without being suspected by anyone in the organization? Why hasn't anybody in the AU suspected that Glion and Fuga could've been accomplices? A prominent member of a community can't just disappear without a trace without anyone noticing and becoming suspicious of. If Glion's schemes were only revealed in recent episodes, then in episode 1 Glion was still deemed as the hero by the AU and the whole organization. Gosh, the top brasses' decisions and actions are getting more and more irrational, illogical, and nonsensical. Not to mention how easily they were at being fooled by Glion. It's a sure sign of plot convenience. A very convenient one. I thought that Mr. Hoshino the yokaibuster was also an alchemist due to holding a Chemyriser, but it turns out the one he's holding is Renge's. His seemingly alchemical powers come from 4 Cosmic Chemies (Mercurin, Kinkiravina, Grandsaturn, & Jupitta). I think his character is similar to Mr. Satan from Dragon Ball Z. The meta in this episode is that Jugglus Juggler's actor from Ultraman Orb portrays a yokaibuster powered by 4 Cosmic Chemies in the form of spirit orbs. Haha. Atropos creates Malgams out of 2 thugs, but the resulting Malgams are golden ones. Aren't Malgams created from humans silver? Or perhaps it's due to the power from Glion's rubik cube? Next week: Mr. Hoshino will probably involved in a (sub)plot twist. The return of a silver Malgam. |
Takaya Aoyagi FTW.

The guest appearance is fun, not gonna lie, but I don’t get why this setup needs a two-parter.
And I wonder where this show is headed now that the big bad is seemingly disposed off. I mean the three-eyed monster behind the door is a safe bet, but who will open it? Atropos doesn’t seem like she will make that happen. I assume Geryon will just pop up again eventually. Also, I was surprised to see new Chemies appearing, so what was Geryon using as material last episode? I mean he made a big deal about snatching the ones from the heroes and collecting the level 10’s, then he had them all lined up in the sky – what was the point if that wasn’t all of them? Did he just need a random amount of regular Chemies plus the level 10’s? I assumed they got them all already. Sorry if they actually explained that somewhere, I just doze off watching this show every now and then. |
Good to see the Kitchen Ichinose Alliance back at Alchemy Academy, now with Minato joining them as well. Looks like Spanner and Kyoka are going to focus on removing the rot from Alchemy Union, so perhaps Lachesis will lend her aid once more. Since Geryon's currently out of the picture, this might be the best opportunity to persuade Clotho to the side of good, while Atropos still seems stuck in her ways.
I love how ever since Kyoto's haunted house that Rinne's consistent quirk is that she finds horror stuff totally hysterical. :lol I wonder if the hitodama that the Himeno siblings saw as kids actually had anything to do with Carery, as she assumes that form here. Granny Icho must be pretty strong for her old age to carry Renge like that. I suspect that a stunt actor may have been portraying her for that scene though. Speaking of stunts, how about Starshine falling in to the waterfall! Surely that was a humorous Showa reference with how the prop was so obvious. Quote:
This is also the second time I recall that I've seen Toei reuse Banjyou Ryuuga's jacket for some random delinquent MOTW, after one of the Brachio Deadman trio from Revice. I guess they must really like that jacket, huh. Quote:
Something similar happened in Ghost, when Adel used the Ganmaizers as a replacement for the Heroic Eyecons to access the Great Eye. He even referred to Takeru himself as a "key", in the same way as the GotcharDriver. |
A loopy guest character whose antics take up screen time? Definitely an Inoue script.
Also, focus on a side character’s home life, a fight with some strategic use of the toys, prominent flashbacks, and the villain being distantly connected to the plot? Definitely a Taguchi joint. And yet, these two mesh together into a fairly entertaining episode. I liked the ghost call back to the Kyoto arc, and that TriCatcher is the second Wild Form to receive a reappearance after “the rabbit hoodie”. I think I can guess what Chemies not-Juggler found before the episode, based on Japanese planet names and the fact he claims to have all 5 elements. |
I am always down for any episode where an obvious stunt mannequin is thrown off of a cliff for comedic effect.
