Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes
A new miniseries streaming exclusively on the Ultraman Official YouTube channel that serves as an intermediate between Ultraman R/B The Movie and Ultraman Taiga. Interestingly, the show will be broadcast in both English and Japanese at the same time.

My guess it'll be an excuse plot to get all the New Generation Ultras in one place in order to explain the beginning of Taiga's series. Though personally I was ready to just accept 'there is some trouble in space and they all happened to know about it'.

My body is ready. No such thing as too much Ultraman content.
Here's a short intro from Sakamato-san for added context: Here's a short intro from Sakamoto-san for added context. |
Ah gotta love it when they turn Pachinko Exclusive villains into Stage Show Villains and then finally giving them true love by giving them an actual physical appearance in a series/mini-series.
UltraDarkKiller was too good a design to just be relegated to pachinko and stage shows. |
Also the concept of a Dark Geed is inherently funny because Geed himself is already an 'Anti-Belial'.

Obviously the best thing about a new series like this, is more evil repaints. And in this case Tamashii is making Figuarts! No release details yet, but they have confirmed that Ultraman X Darkness & Ultraman Geed Darkness will see release!
|
These two look mighty fine, the red & black deco with the purple accents is beautiful.
If they are retail I could see myself picking them up, if they are exclusive I'll pass. A worldwide release mini-series is super cool, but please let it be subtitled. If they are dubbed I will lose interest instantly. I have seen a few officially dubbed Ultraman things and they are horrible. |

While we're at it, let's fancast Ultramen if they were to receive english voice actors. |
I'd also prefer subs, but I'll tolerate the dubs because official release on Youtube is pretty good. I assume they think there will be more audience for dubs than subs?
|
Wait a minute... black repaints, shown in July... those guys are the Tamashii Nations 2019 Ultraman Exclusives, aren't they?

I suppose it helps that Ultraman is also insanely culturally popular in other English-speaking parts of the world, e.g. Southeast Asia. |
-New Ultra Fight show
-All the New Generation Ultras including Zero and Grigio -X Darkness and Geed Darkness -Ultra Dark Killer -Worldwide release Man this was such a bombshell of an announcement. |
These Ultra Fight things have consistently been loads of fun, especially with Sakamoto on board, so this is definitely something I'm looking forward to. Major props to Tsuburaya for explicitly making this a worldwide thing. And also not region-locking the episodes of The Ultraman they've been uploading lately. That's only kind of related, but, you know, I genuinely appreciate it.
I also have no idea why we're even considering the possibility of this getting a dub... is what I was going to say, before I had the sense to go and check if I was correctly remembering that Ultra Fight Victory was available with subtitles back when it aired. It was, but apparently it also got a dub at some point, so... who knows? It's also not impossible for them to do both, obviously. |
I'm looking forward to this, the past Ultra Fight series have been really fun. I hope an English dub isn't the only way I can watch it though. The Ultra Fight Victory dub is the worst mid-90's-video-game-voice-acting kind of shit I've heard in quite a while.
Geed and X Darkness look rad. |
I just realized if it's dubbed, this might be the first time we've ever heard an English-speaking Ultraman Zero (to my knowledge).
I don't know how I feel about that. |
