Updates on weapons I fuckin' hope.
|
I hope we see either Tor, Shogun MZ, or Serpenterra.
Oh, and Alien Rangers would be awesome or some villains. |
Interesting... I wonder if the metallic MMPR Rangers still come with the pieces to form the Megazord. I kinda hope they do, but either way I imagine this feels a bit like a middle finger to those who already got the MMPR figures released so-far and wanted the weapons.
Watched Bruno's video from earlier today, and there's quite a few things to be excited over. The big Ninja Steel lion zord absolutely dwarfs the original BoJ version. Also, the NS Gold Ranger's morpher is a blaster version of the stars that the other 5 use. I would have loved to have seen them actually use the burger morpher, but the blaster isn't a bad substitute. |
I am all over those Zeo figures. About time!
|
I mean I'm grateful that they're releasing the rangers with individual weapons, and the new metallic paint jobs look nice!
But I do feel bad for the folks who already own the rangers. I just owned Zack so it's not so bad, but still. Wonder if the original releases with silver belts and matt finishes will sell for (even) more due to this? Anyway, Zeo designs are some of my favourite and I'm super pleased to finally see them. |
I know Kickback's psyched as hell seeing Zeo Gold.
|
Wow Bandai, that's one hell of a dick move.
I mean, people have been collecting the Rangers, and they want weapons for the rangers they already have. Having to by an entire other set is not really fixing the issue there. This is some serious inexcusable bullshit I'm sure someone will try to excuse. Man Bandai sucks. Also, those metallic figures look terrible. The metallic swirl is awful and they look cheap and transparent. |
Also, I like how the Zeo figures still don't come with their weapons, either. Bandai seems really vacant on the idea that fans thought all the figures should have their individual weapons, not just MMPR.
|
Hold on a minute, you have to buy the figures all over again to get their weapons? Is Bandai being serious? :lol :lol :lol
That is truly messed up. Anything on Alien Rangers or the Megazords? That Zeo Megazord looks awful. Would it really have killed them to at least paint the eyes red on the legs? |
It seems future releases may be in jeopardy/under review since Bandai can't decide between including weapons or including "Build A Figure" parts.
How about this- Just include the weapons with the figures & release the Megazords as SEPARATE figures! I think that would be a great sales angle... |

God damn what a ripoff. So if you want the decent looking figures to have their weapons, you still have to buy two sets, because I notice there's no metallic Green or White rangers. So you still need the original releases to have a consistent team. It would've been so simple to just include the weapons with the White Ranger since he doesn't have a zord part or a personalized weapon. (Saba takes the place of his sidearm so he still only has one accessory) Quote:

I honestly don't see the Legacy line making it beyond Zeo.
BTW, did they at least address the wrong colored belts? |
Quote:
This line has been a shitshow, and it didn't need to be. The figures are good. Probably the best PR figs BOA has ever made. But they screwed this line up with the accessories. And I hate to say it, but I agree that the line is probably gonna end after the next wave or so. Nobody wants to be jerked around, and nobody's going to collect the normal releases if they think Bandai will just come out with better ones that should've been released first later on. Hell, I know I won't buy the Zeo figures if I know they can come with accessories but haven't. I forsee a lot of "metallic" rangers being returned to stores sans weapons. And I hate to say it, but I won't actually blame anyone who does that. |
Wait, so instead of doing an exchange program for the white belts, you have to buy new figures to get them? Come to think of it, how can you even change the belts on the figures?
|

This literally solves nothing. I'd rather have to buy the weapons direct from Bandai than buy anotehr, shitey-r set of rangers. |
It seems this line is crashing and burning a lot harder than I would've thought.
Did they seriously not have the foresight to think that most people would want the rangers' main weapon over stuff like the ranger stick... They're not gonna drop the build a figure since it's what Marvel and DC's figures are doing, but I don't think anyone would be losing sleep if their generic guns aren't included. |
Where's my legacy shogun megazord?!?!
|
I'm gonna hold out before ranting about this weapons mess and wait until the show is over. Who knows, Bandai might actually have some real news about the weapons for those who already own the first two legacy waves.
Look either way, it ain't over yet. There's still more to come, like where are the spoiled Legacy Dino Thunder figures at the booth? |
This... is incredibly stupid, but considering I planned on buying duplicates for customs anyways, this sort of works out for me?
But god damn this is a stupid marketing strategy. |
Looks like the weapons don't combine. Dang. Looks good, but a legacy howling cannon woulda been boss
|
The whole Legacy action figure line kind of sounds like a real shit show right now. Feel bad for its fans. :/

And trust me, we feel plenty bad for ourselves as well. |
Shame they couldn't have added the swapping helmets gimmick to Zeo Mega. It would've been an easy thing to do, just have each ranger come with their respective helmet and a piece of the BaF.
|
Seems like Bandai's fucking up the Legacy line like Mattel fucked up their Classics lines back in the day.
|
Legacy Zeo and Super Zeo Zords when?
Still some of my all time favorite Megazords. |

There have been two real issues and that's weapons and the white paint job. Weapons - All they had to do was just say no. But they kept teasing and now we may have this shite show. My hope is they simply reveal white ranger get's the weapons and so the metallics are 100% optional. White Paint - Production error I feel Bandai should have fixed before shipping. Not the worst thing. I think most people don't care that much but the vocal ones will be vocal. Beyond that it seems to be fine. You have people complaining about not getting a rerelease(well that's why the runs are limited). You have people complaining about price. Well yes these aren't $5 figures and nor are they $50 either. You have people complaining about the waves. Well again most aren't going to buy the whole line at once. A lot of this is on unrealistic expectations. |

I don't even think the price is bad, but saying "well they could be $50 figures" is cold comfort when, ironically, if I wanted both a normal looking MMPR Ranger with their weapon, I'd have to buy two anyway, which is $50 Canadian. Ditto for anyone who wants the weapons. Quote:
I feel like most collectors would buy entire waves at once. Most do buy entire waves at once. This doesn't make any sense. The only people who haven't bought the entire waves are those who didn't want to play Bandai's stupid game of splitting up teams over multiple waves. Quote:
|
As much shit Bandai gets for being too focused on MMPR I can understand why they'd split the line like they did.
Still makes it a pain in the ass if you want whole teams. And he's right most people don't collect whole lines they cherry pick the characters they want and Bandai themselves have said the girl Rangers aren't selling. |

As an aside I'm glad I only got the Pink Ranger from the original wave.
Now I can just buy the metallic ones as they come out. |
I've got no beef over the whole BAWTF (Build-a-Whateverthefuq) craize. Even if they're not as model accurate to their TV counterparts, they still have quite the charm to each one. What I do have a serious issue against the series, is even the Gawd dang Megazord doesn't get a weapon.
Wasn't the Dino Megazord promised (at least) the Power Sword with the supposed weapon packs originally? So basically you're telling your fans to acquire the very limited SDCC 2016 Red Ranger set if they want the Power Sword for their BAM Megazord after all this? Yeah, real smart move there, guys. :rolleyes BTW: Where are the Legacy Dino Thunder figures? |
Those zeo ranger figures look so good. In still waiting for the possibility of the alien rangers.

Half assed would be "Throw 'em out the door and let the buyers deal with it." You don't make mistakes this big on accident. This is just them trying to play damage control after their horrible decisions. The ranger keys also fall under this category. |

How hard would it be to stick the weapons in with White? What's white gonna come with to make up for his lack of BOZ piece? |
So, all hail Bandai for so graciously listening to fans who wanted white belts and weapons because it's releasing new clear plastic versions? Basically variant re-releases? I think they would have done this anyway, because they're afraid to stray too far from Zyuranger. It's to bleed more money out of fans. Nothing special. Releasing "Poisandra" or going out of their way to get rights to a certain character or push one through that we would otherwise never have a chance to get seems more like listening to the fans to me. Taking risks.
|
Saw the DinoThunder figures at MMPRtoys youtube channel and dear lord they are looking good. But the downside though is since they are prototypes they may cheap out on some paint/parts.
Now as to a followup to SPLIT LIP comments. I do understand the issue, I very much do. What I think the situation isn't that dire unless you a collector looking for perfection. For the people who just want to own the rangers, it's not a huge problem. Missing a white belt? not a big deal. Maybe that's the Legacy Lines issue is that it's stuck between a casual collector and a serious collector. |
Quote:
Perfection would be the Figuarts in BOA packaging, but these toys aren't that. And I don't expect them to be. I just expect Bandai to not be dicks about the weapons shit. But clearly that was my error. |
