SMP DynaZenon
WITH GridKnight extra set!

Was really excited at first, but preban AND a pricetag of 11,000 yen? Wooft. Bit much for me.
Like, not necessarily saying it's not worth it; but it's absolutely not the kind of pricing that was making me excited for this in the first place. The Moderoid has all the same features, is I believe extremely similar quality and scale, and is a fairly lower price at 7500 (and in fact you can find it on sale right now), which is a lot more reasonable for a kit. If I wanted to shell out more I would probably just save up for the DX at that point |
Strange release indeed. For reference, this is the Moderoid Dynazenon kit next to SMP Gaoking.
https://i.imgur.com/LqU3wwG.png In some ways, this SMP release actually looks worse than the Moderoid. I suppose the premium price accounts for the pre-painted parts. SMP is starting to roll out a bunch of other kits from other franchises, so it's clearly aiming for collector's trying to keep everything in the same style/scale. |

From my experience SMP tends to be better quality than Moderoid plastic model kits- in terms of plastic quality, paint applications, and build process/tolerances.
I am going to guess that the upcoming Dynazenon movie will have something to coincide with the SMP release. |
