Wow another great ep of Ryusoulger.
Towa focus really shows how much he improves in the show. With the team disappearing and he fighting back against Minusaur attacks was really great. He used his head to come up with a plan to save the team it also, help what Ryusoul Gold told him. Then the battle against Gaisorg was short but he finally in the show. Towa didn't know that back in Saikyo Battle that what he call. This is why I like Ryusoulger first a mecha ep where he fit in with everyone and now a ranger focus ep relate to the plot a very well written ep for Towa and next week we get the raptors. |
Excuse me Towa ? Who is Gaisorg !? YOU ALREADY MET IT GOD DAMN YOU !
It is the same god damn armor you and your brother helped destroy once already ! Even if you did not know the name, you fricking saw the armor ! WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE YOU NEVER SAW IT BEFORE !? " flips table " "cough" Overall really enjoyed the episode though, camera work, humor, and our current general and oozing mushroom are just the best, they could always pull a dumb " oh, that green and black in the specials where totally not the current green and black " in regards to Gaisorg, sure, but that is stretching things considering their attitude and movements are the same, not to mention voices..... |
Really good focus episode for Towa. It got to show his specialty in speed in dodging all those cages. But as the episode was trying to point out that isn't enough and he needs to improve.
The one on one fight with Gaisorg was nice though a bit short. I take that the crossover special that aired before the show was non-canonical, like a vs movie since Towa doesn't recognize Gaisorg. The comedy bits are still pretty good. "The Minusaur is right in front of your eyes" Canalo and Towa proceeds to look everywhere, heh. Right now Bamba and Towa's story line is more interesting to me. What happened to their master? How is Gaisorg connected to Bamba? Plus all these people whom Bamba seems to know, like the Prime Minister or the old teacher. Their progression is just more enjoyable to watch. And Towa just went up in my character hierarchy, next to Bamba, Kreon and Wyzul and just above Tyramigo. |

They're not even trying to hide how obvious it is that gaisorg is towa and banba' master are they?

I would not be surprised if suddenly we get scenes from the specials during this run, as that has happened before in both sentai and rider shows, even if said events are not treated as canon before that. It is silly, but eh, not the first time and it will not be the last. |
This was a very strong episode, and once again, there are a lot of great bits of detail at work. I like how Asuna's accidental luck came into play during the opening, for one. The central moral of the story was also handled very well. Melto makes a compelling case for why Towa needs to improve, and crucially, we actually see Towa improve. The fact that he legitimately was completely alone especially added a lot of tension. It's really easy to sympathize with him, and despite this being a great showing for Wyzul, too, I was actually rooting against him for once. Just barely though.
This was also directed by Kamihoriuchi again, in case the extremely lavish giant robot fight didn't tip you all off. So that's another point in its favor. |
I don't comment much because the show has been thoroughly underwhelming, but this was pretty good. The look Towa gave Bamba at the end was chilling.
I liked how they established why Towa needed to improve. Rather than having Melto overwhelm or overpower him, he proved the advantage of critical thinking by having Towa play himself and corner himself. I also liked the moment with Gaisorg and showing how he plays down the middle. He's a lot more interesting than the "You strong? Fight me" Gaisorg we got in the special. Creative way to use the monster's power against itself, and Wyzul is just fun as ever to watch. |

I'm really hopeful and looking forward to the continuing character skill and relationship development :) |
