NO SPOILERS - Power Rangers Movie Reviews
Use this thread to post non-spoiler reviews of the Power Rangers Movie.

Would saying it sucks be considered spoiler?
|
Just saw it. Pretty good. Nothing ground breaking but a fun time in theater nonetheless. Just lower your bar and you'll enjoy it.

Nope not yet. I will decide if I will go watch it based on the reviews I see here.

ALSO! There's a post credit scene apparently, don't miss out on it! |
Been checking rotten tomato all week. Currently stands at 49% so this is very hit or miss. Most reviews seem to love the cast and find most of the movies faults lie with it's direction. Me think Loinsgate/Saban brands may consider putting someone else in the director's chair for the sequel.

Ok well if I hear good things from full on Power Ranger fans I will see it most likely during spring break.
|
Honestly, I expected full on PR fans to be the most scathing, regardless of quality :lol

Overall, yeah, I am quite pleaed to have been wrong about it. It was great. It's not going to win any Oscars, but it was indeed Power Rangers. |

I completely loved the movie. It was fun as hell.

If someone's already made up their mind though, I can't blame them for it. However, if someone is still open to seeing it, I think they should go for it. |

Anyways, I won't be seeing this movie till Thursday with a friend of mine so I'll hold judgement till then. |
Well I guess I have to tie up my brother to drag him with me to see this.
|
Absolutely loved it! I thought it was faithful to the original while modernizing it. Loved how it didn't take itself too seriously.
|
Y'know, with the amount of positive reviews from people I didn't think would like the movie at all, I'm willing to give it a chance when I can, but some of the fans (read: SOME, and no, not anyone here) are pretty annoying. Dismissing critical negative reviews and telling people to see the film is just... hypocritical and small. Why should we disregard critical reviews, but follow your recommendations? Bruno did this and it kind of discredits him IMO. He's always been kind of a blind PR supporter, not really critical to anything PR or Saban or BOA, and sometimes that's refreshing when people are irrationally harsh on PR, but comments like that just sort of... rub me the wrong way.
But I still actually want to see it now because, again, certain people who I thought for sure would laugh this film off are saying they really liked it. That has me interested. |

Hey i went to the hobbyshop today and they had like 5 kits i wanted, and i managed to exercise self control and buy none.
|
Legitimately shocked by the praise I'm seeing. I mean, I was one of the people defending the movie before, but even I was expecting it to be a throwaway, forgettable movie.

Loved it. Could have done with a bit more suit action and I won't deny there were a few questionable choices here and there, but all in all it was a solid, enjoyable film. In two hours this cast had tons more character and personality than most of the original did in 100+ episodes.
|
From what I've read here I'll probably enjoy it if I treat it as a new Power Rangers thing and not an adaption of MMPR.

But when someone known to be a blind PR supporter says to disregard any negative reviews, I can't help but roll my eyes. Quote:

Basically I mean I'll just try to enjoy it as a Power Rangers product instead of wondering why they didn't just straight do a completely from scratch PR movie if these are already mostly original characters. |
The movie was a lot of fun. I like it better than the original show. Sorry, but the original MMPR show is hot garbage when you take off the nostalgia glasses. This movie had better main characters and made Rita feel more evil. I grew up with MMPR too and saw the original movie in theaters. This movie was a lot of fun and the final battle was worth it.
Is it a great movie? No, but the movie is good for what it is. My whole theater clap and yell out "YEAH!!!" when the Mega Zord show up. I say this movie is better than the Transformers movies because at least they don't try to add crude humor that not even a four year old would find funny. I give this movie a 7/10. |

...You know, maybe it's just me being weird again, but I'm going to need to see the context of this to determine that. Just because I can't separate this idea from farm work and animal husbandry in my mind.

Loved the movie. Like... way more than I expected to, even. Biggest disappointment for me was that a lot of the mecha action didn't feel... physically impactful enough? Is that the right way to say it? Let's just say it left me wanting more from the Zords, both collectively and apart. I loved the Rangers as characters though. All of them were likable and had great chemistry IMO. |
Just saw the movie. I thought it was actually pretty fantastic for what it is. Not a cinematic masterpiece even by superhero movie standards, but I had a blast watching it. I love the 5 actors they got to play the Rangers.
|
This is one of the times where I'm glad I'm wrong. I was very skeptical of this movie, but the benefit of that low expectation makes me love the movie. Although I admit, I love the first two acts more than the third, which is weird.
