Mashin Sentai Kirameiger Q1 Listings
1 Attachment(s)
The basics-
*Five-Ranger team; Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink. *Vehicle Mechs- Dump truck, carrier (guessing aircraft carrier), tank, crane, road roller. |
And suddenly Boukenger springs to mind. Huh.
So I guess they're... not magic or demons? Or they're just, like, the really cool variety of wizards that drive trucks |
That's not very demonic at all.
|
I think you guys made a mistake, those are the names of the weapons not the mechas.
|
YES!!!! MY SPECULATIONS CAME TRUE! Those Japanese puns never let me down!

Magiranger/Mystic Force team-up or else!

As several of us pointed out when the title was originally discovered, the translation of 魔進 (mashin) as "demon summoning" or "demonic advancement" or whatever was never particularly well-grounded. When 魔進 (mashin) is translated as "magical progress," or even just "magic," both of which are acceptable readings, the mashin/machine pun kind of screams in our face that the show is about mages who drive (i.e. "progress" as a verb) magic machines. In retrospect, "magic cars" was probably something more of us should have anticipated from the beginning. Fandom was just so enamored by the idea of "demons" that we couldn't imagine anything outside that box. |
Aw damn I was hoping for the female black rumour
|
I believe it's Mashin Rolland, not Mashin Roller, presumably "roll+land."
|
I think it's interesting to note as well that these are slated for early March, not February. So they're not shortening Ryusoulger, and the start date for Sentai toylines has now been moved a month forward. Was this maybe the real intention behind Sentai Strongest?
|
The zords could still be monster themed machines. Either way I am happy because construction vehicle zords. Now give me an excavater zord and maybe make it monster themed.
Oh if they do go with magic machines then maybe a golem megazord please. |
Exactly nothing to say there won't still be some sort of monster/demon influence in the design even if the overall thing is a vehicle.
So if this all pans out we have 4 sets being released early on..., I'm expecting 2 special edition collection gimmick items. 1- DX Kiramaizin SET- if it just said Kiramaizin i'd say another standalone red mecha like CB01 Buster Ace, and Tyramigo from Ryusoulger but the use of set to me sounds like a more tranditional Combining Mecha. This would likely come with a basic version of whatever the collection gimmick is(assuming there is one of course) 2- Mashin weapon series 01/02 - Lumping these together cause again they'd be standard editions coming with standard versions. Roller is likely a steam roller and Lifton to me sounds like a Forklift... these would likely either replace or attatch onto the arms of Kiramaizin. Carry and Base were a little harder for me to guess... Carry had 2 options Aircraft carrier and Personel Carrier ( could also be a supply truck) I'm leaning towards Personel Carrier, with Base being a mobile commnad center (took be a bit to think of it) yes it doesn't fit with the construction vibe of the first 2 but I can't think of anything else for "Base" within a construction field. 3- Mashin Gattai DX Kiramaizin Mashin Armed set- this sounds like the big combo pack containing both the standard Mecha and the 4 weapon mecha allowing it to take on something akin to say Daibouken +Bouken vehicles 6-9 (name escapes me at the moment) |

I can only presume that perhaps sales pick-up in the Spring, and that maybe a new release in Spring will make the First Quarter returns that much stronger. Other than that, I don't see a good reason at present. |
Why do all of you guys think the things marked as Weapons are the Mechas?

The first listing is Robot Series Kiramaizin set(so likely a traditional 5 part combining robot) Then there is "Weapon Mashin(play on machine)series01/02, with 2 listed. Maybe its not maybe its something like the Shurikenger weapon set that had bow and spear. But Mashin Roller and Mashin LIfton- unless we are dealing with something like a paintroller weapon... it doesn't really feel very weapon like. However as an auxilary type mecha that becomes a weapon for the mecha sure. A Steamroller type thing would work perfectly. Then there is the 2nd obvious mecha set. Kiramaizin Mashin Armed set... sounds to me at least like one of those combo packs like that special edition bundle that had Tyramigo as well as Triken and Ankyloze. But there is a gun/blade type set for side arms so MAYBE the Weapon Mashin are actual DX roleplay weapons but the names sound way to odd in my opinion. Roller, Lifton (forklift or crane could both fit) Carry, and base (Unless its a baseball bat weapon base is a really odd weapon name. But something like a mobile command vehicle would fit) Its mainly the naming though I can't recall any products in the past few years that were roleplay weapons that had "weapon" in the name apart form "Kyuza weapon" from Kyuuranger which was a single item. So yeah theres a chance that Weapon Mashin DX Series 02, and Weapon Mashin DX Series 02 are personal weapons in which case are we actually getting pink's weapon? I don't think we've had a female rangers weapon in a few years, or is that just the 4 guys cause there's no way they'd not release red's weapon. Plus the listings mention DX Kiramai changer, DX Kiramai Shot, and DX Kirmai sword. as well as all 3 bundled together. so the OBVIOUS weapons are jsut DX _weapon name_, Weapon Mashin DX Series stands out. |
I kind of doubt that they'd have that many roleplay weapons. My guess is it's something similar to the likes of Toqger or Lupat; where the mechas can be attached to the weapons and/or henshin devices for certain purposes.

I do agree they could combo with the sword/gun to form some sort of weapon upgrade perhaps, but i definitely feel they are more weapons for the main mecha. |
I think I've hit upon a realisation: we're taking the 'weapon' part too literally. Is it not more likely that 'weapon' is nothing more than the name of the mecha in this season?
Furthermore, given that the two 'series' are separated to a degree by their item codes and that there's only four of them in total, I don't think these are separately sold versions of the Kirameiger's main mecha; rather, I think that like previous seasons all five will form one robo that will be the big DX Kiramaizin as in the first listing... and these two 'weapon series' will be the auxiliary mecha of the season, with 01 and 02 making up Q1. |
I really hope the mecha don't suck. I am dying for modern, decent combining robots, and Sentai has just been such a wasteland lately.

Also on the topic of why we are convinced weapon mashin dx series items are aux mecha (my assumption from moment 1) is the use of the word series i dont think that has ever applied to weapons just figures and mecha.
But yeah kiramazin set- core 5 Weapon mashin set 1- first power up kinda nice seing it be sets could be something similar to hurricaneger didnt that sell the aux mecha in sets? Weapon mashin set 2-2nd set Kiramazin and mashin armed set- tue combo pack with main mecha and either set 1 or 1+2 |

Just a heads-up folks- the list might just be "IT" for now in terms of Kirameiger reveals.
Bandai/Toei are cracking down HARD on leaks to the point where they didn't even have a catalog at this years' retailer meeting. we can still expect to see the new Super Sentai by Xmas- this is usually when the TV-Asahi site goes live with series details. |

That said, wow. Gotta imagine this is because we were really, really not supposed to know about Trinity. |
Quote:
There are any number of factors that could have led Bandai/Toei to this. Catalogues have been regularly leaked by retailers for years. At some point they were going to have to crack down on the situation. Things have been pretty blatant in recent years. And considering they have new international partners now with Hasbro as well, it would be smart to insulate themselves in this way. |

The thing about leaks is it's hard to tell if they are of malicious/hyper active fan intent or a part of a viral marketing campaign. Bandai can do whatever they wish in regards to when they want to inform the public on their products. But why would they not want anything leaking to retailers? Does it jeopardize their sales? I can't see that to be the case. It's Sentai, retailers are going to buy it regardless. And the retailers have a right to know what products they are ordering in wholesale.

Leaks to the public of future toy lines jeopardize sales of the current toy lines. When consumers see the bright, shiny, totally new and different mech system on the horizon, they're less likely to buy the 90th mecha from the current line. Leaks cannibalize sales. |

Obviously, leaks do hurt the manufacturer, otherwise the manufacturer wouldn't be making the decision to prevent them. They're making the decision to protect retailers too, because unsold merchandise is what goes on clearance, and clearance sales come at a loss for retailers. I get it, man. You're hungry for information on Kirameiger. I am too. But we need to stop rationalizing that leaks are somehow good for the company that's taking drastic measures to prevent them. They know what they're doing -- they have far more information and education on this topic than any of us -- and they don't need amateur fans telling them that leaks somehow improve their business when they have literal decades of research and sales figures that must indicate that isn't true. Unless you secretly work for Bandai Japan's marketing department, you need to trust that they know what they're doing, and you need to trust that none of this is being done maliciously. |

I also want a decent Ultrazord, where the main mecha can improve and get upgraded without swapping out parts or just getting new arms/a backpack. I've considered getting the Beast X Ultrazord for this reason, because it actually looks like an improvement over the GoBuster mecha based on proportions. |
