Dino Supercharge Ep 13 - Recipe for Disaster - Poll and Discussion
Lord Arcanon is here! So is Doomwing! And the Zords fall under control of the bad guys!
Oh. And Chase is trying to impress a food critic. BUT LORD ARCANON IS HERE! Vote and Discuss! |
Lord Arcanon: "I am Lord Arcanine!"
Me: "Power Rangers Go Confirmed!" Lord Arcanon: "Damn millennials...can't even mispronounce something these days..." |
Needless to say I was let down by this episode. It had so much potential to be amazing like it's Sentai counterpart and it was ruined by a sub-plot about a cake.
Also by a baddy who was SUPPOSED to be a huge threat and ended up looking like a chump. |
This episode was a miss. I appreciate the new footage, but at the same time, I found myself bored and not paying much attention. The show can be so much better than this - we've seen it.
Something had to have happened in this round of production to drop the quality of the story-telling. I mean, the whole food critic thing was so shoved in to the story that it made no sense. I mean, to have Chase figure out that they have to make the Ultrazord because of the food critic? Power Rangers is better than that. |
This was Way better then the last ep that aired. Seeing the zords over & over again was cool in a way.

So new villains show up and automatically take control of the Zords um yeah... and the cake thing something felt awkward.

It wasn't the best episode. The story line since Super Charge started, I feel, has been plot driven episodes to start, then a lull with episodes that are filler/don't drive the plot forward, and then the last batch all works well with each other as a continuing story. Plus, I don't know a lot of museum cafes that have some food as fancy as a pavlova at the same time boasting Bronto Burgers and Fossil Fries. |
poor prdc and they will get their zords back

When viewing the original clip, I felt as though this had serious potential. Some think Lord Arcanon was lackluster because he couldn't win despite the seriousness of his character, but I'm still amused. I'll admit that the Ranger scenes of their civilian lives are painful to look at, but at the same time, I've never even heard of Pavlova before this episode, so at least they didn't get bland with the dialogue and call it a "fruit-cake". The scenes with Fortress and the recycled footage aboard the ship were different and amusing. Many know that this guy has been seen numerous times before in the cells with the head of Behemoth from Mystic Force, so he serves as generic kit-bash and a specific "Monster Megazord" (which is arguably a good concept). I'm not sold on the two servants as Singe and Doomwing. Personally, I think Doomwing should've been held back awhile. Some of the good points in this episode were a planet called "Sentai 6" and the PR-exclusive cockpit with Snide (which was a wonderful touch). Surprised they were actually able to show Heckyl's mouth bound like that when they imprisoned him again.
In short: Villains good, Rangers bad. Potential remains, but they need something to assuage our fears. |
