Concerning Shodo future, those figure are beautiful but also really expensive, like all premium explusive stuff... I wouls have expected that Shodo will cover show raider and let SoDo-Chronicle covers heisei riders, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I began SoDo-Chronicle (W, DenO, Kuuga), and I wonder if they will do all riders that came in the shodo line into the sodo chronicle line... Figures are a bit different between SHODO and SoDo Chronicle (SHODO are a bit smaller), and I would rather have all rider in the same line and not have to but them twice. Neoxul |
I posted my speculation for the remaining waves a bit ago. Maybe replace the summer movie villain in AI9 with Ark-Zero and it still should work out so far

The real thing I've just realised is that there's totally going to be a PB Chronicle Aqua and Poseidon set coming soon and I'm gonna have to sell a kidney to buy it, aren't I? Quote:

You’d have to shift Rampage into Wave 7 since it says that he’s the next figure to be revealed.

Let's not forget that Zero-One's getting a Dynamaiting Lion form!

(Also, image broken, sad times). Today was going to be just a photo dump (of photos I took days ago but didn't post because life got busy with problem work, whomps), but it got me thinking about a phenomena in Rider that no-one thinks about. It's not as notable as the final forms, as argument-inducing as the secondary Riders, nowhere near as frustrating as "Do movie forms count?" I am talking, of course, about the early-gimmick-promo form. I swear this is relevant I promise. These are what Toei shows off in all the initial merchandising rush (and often pre-show cameo) to showcase the gimmick of the year to the children and us, with the hopes we'll think "Wow, cool!" and buy the stuff, before it's never used again after episode 5. However, this initial push means they usually maintain a little more permanence in the fandom memory than other forms in the inital rush, since they're all we have to go on at first, and may be revisited later. I thought this was a pretty recent thing, and then I thought about it and I can trace it back to OOO at a stretch, but definitely Fourze. In order, we have: OOO - TaKiriBa is used in the first episode (or maybe second, I watched the initial 10 episodes to OOO years ago, Kurona will know) to showcase the Combo Change. Fourze - Here we go! It's not a form, but the Magic Hand switch is used in the OOO Summer movie, and it got released as part of a Core Medal/Switch set to entice existing OOO collectors to buy it. Wizard - The ring powers all blend together, I'm not gonna lie, none of them actually stick in the memory enough for me to assign it here. Gaim - Here we see a counterbalance to the "Show off multiple forms" argument. You could make a case for Pine or Ichigo, but Gaim gets around the problem of needing to make multiple Gimmick items memorable by having 5 Riders at the start, thereby spreading the load. Drive - Max Flare, for certain. You could maybe make a case for Midnight Shadow and Funky Spike, given they get to be in the OP too... except they didn't get a HBV exclusive upgrade. Type High Speed, you never disappoint. Ghost - Musashi gets to show up in episode 1, gets to be Takeru's main advisor, and is obviously the big Japanese spirit of the first few gained, of course he's the most important. Ex-Aid - Here's a weird one. Ex-Aid is another that mostly gets around this by having multiple riders again, but the form and Gashat that got shown off the most prior to the series, and thus the focus of this list... is Genm's Shakiriki Sports. Dan Kuroto, you've done it again. Build - Gorilla and Diamond get to debut in Ex-Aid, used by Takumi, and even have to be specially written out of the plot for that to happen, so they count here. Zero-One - Flying Falcon got the most pre-show push, and the Key itself obviously gets used by Jin for a while. A combo of having many secondaries, and the gimmick-push form. That leaves Zi-O, and the focus of my latest build. Zi-O Build Armor, who even got a Figuart, the only basic Rider armor to get one! Except Genm, yet again. To be honest, the whole thought vomit above happened because I was posing him, and my brain went "I know he did nothing in show, but why do I remember him as being so important?" Because the merch bash made me *think* he was important! Still, even remembering how little he actally does, he's pretty cool! The armor look makes him seem more metallic and bulky, and the Build colours really pop. Even the drill weapon and bottle shoulders, which is a little tacky in show, works nicely here in scaled down form. https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net...ad&oe=5ECB0BB2 Plus, if you buy the full RIDE1, you have the parts to make Geiz's Build form, something I forgot existed until I looked at the box. It's not an idea they repeated with many of the armors (this, Ghost and Ex-Aid), but it's nice little thing that's fun to mess around with. The original action body is a little dodgy, given it's molded in black and not red, with a couple of red stickers (so much so they did a redo in Wave 5), but hey, the form still looks good. https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net...14&oe=5ECC801F And here's a group shot of all of Wave 1! I think they all look pretty good... even if I now have a spare Geiz body I need armor for. Toei, you've done it again. https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net...28&oe=5ECB8A5D |

Also, excellent photos! I've stayed clear from the Zi-O SO-DO (haven't watched the show, not crazy about a lot of the designs), but those photos sure make them look good. |
TaKiriBa was indeed Episode 1!
|
Quote:
And I'm not going all in on the Zi-O series, but the main few Riders and a couple of select armours I'm fond of enough to grab. Not that I've built any of them yet apart from Wave 1, but ya know the thought's there. |

Thank you google translate, very cool. I'm sure this was what they meant about Growing Form's leg sticker. |

GATHERING ROUND!
https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430004224.jpg The third and final figure of AI07 has been revealed -- joining Ichigata and Jin Burning Falcon, as many have predicted; it's Vulcan Rampage Gatling! A fair bit of time in the blog is given over to highlighting the detailing on this figure's 'skeleton animals', and fair enough -- it's a damn intricate job, and well done too! A lot of beautiful molded detail that while not quite unprecedented for So-Do, is still very very lovely to see. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430013846.png For accessories, it seems the only notable one he comes with is the handheld version of his Shotriser -- but then, what else does he really need? https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430004304.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0429221257.png https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430004344.jpg Buuuut surprisingly, we're not quite finished with AI reveals tonight! Starting out AI08, we're finally getting around to the rest of the Quartzers -- yup, it's Zamonas! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430043516.jpg Lovingly detailed and coming with his admittedly not much-used crossbow (I... was not even aware it existed despite having watched the movie), he looks quite stunning posed with his fellow Zi-O movie stars! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430043548.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0430043413.png To round off a particularly large So-Do blog, we also have a closer look at Kuuga's Dragon form! They really want you to know just how nicely he's painted, and I don't blame them. Far from stopping at just how nice the guy looks though, the writers of the blog also decided to highlight something particularly fun that I'm sure we all knew was possible but is still nice to see -- Kuuga wearing the Decadriver! Perfect for replicating a few Tsukasa scenes. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212145.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212250.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212508.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212530.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212626.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212755.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212816.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0428212822.jpg I haven't done this in my last few blog updates, but it... really occurs to me that I should be posting links to these, huh? Sure, I'm showing the highlights; but not only is it always good to give credit, but there's a LOT more pictures packed into these than I include. Be sure to give em a look, and tune in next week! http://bandaicandy.hateblo.jp/entry/20200503_rider |
Literally just came here to say the blog had updated and you beat me to it, I need to be faster and/or have access to a time machine : p
But Vulcan Rampage is pretty cool to see done, and I had also forgotten Zamonas had a crossbow. Is that based on anything, considering Barlckx's sword is definitely a Revolcane rip-off? |

Just like the Lupinrangers, who fought the Patrangers, who were the police! It's coming together > Kamen Rider Drive was also a police officer, and he drives a car > So does Black RX > Who was the basis for Kamen Rider Barlckx > Who stared in a movie with Kamen Rider... It's coming together > Zi-O has been to space > Kabuto has also been to space > Kabuto has a beetle motif, as does Blade > Blade features Riders who aren't human, which occurs to the protagonist of OOO > OOO is best friends with Fourze! > Who's also best friends with Amazon! > Amazon was later adapted into Amazonz for Amazon Prime > And you know what aired at the same time as Amazonz? > Ghost. Who also has a bow weapon. It's all coming together. > And Ghost has a crossover with Ichigou in his Spring film > This film featured a redesign for Kamen Rider Ichigou, as did Kamen Rider The First and Kamen Rider The Next > Kamen Rider Zamonas was meant to be partially based on the Kamen Riders from the First and the Next And that, friends, is why Zamonas has a crossbow. |
I'm newly excited for the Kuuga wave now that I've started watching the Shout translation. I'd already pre-ordered the wave, since I love the Kuuga suit design, but I'm even more excited for it now having an attachment to the character! Rampage Vulcan looks pretty good too. I'm not super fond of that suit, though I don't outright dislike it. It's a cool concept. The figure looks fantastically detailed!

Not to ruin your thunder Kurona, but it stayed last week at the bottom that next week is Rampage.

So I've found out that not only does something as wonderful as Shodo Tigerroid exist, but it is extremely easily available for ridiculously cheap on Mandarake; and I've decided that I love myself enough to get it, BUT, I won't be able to do any purchasing until the 19th; and I'm deciding that everyone deserves to know about this
So, like, here's the deal; I'm posting this here and making it an absolute russian roulette wild west or whatever. If it's not available to me by the 19th, then that'll have meant that I screwed myself over here; but if it's not, then I'll generally have lost faith in the idea that you all have taste Go wild Tigerroid https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EXdCh1SXYAENOXm.png |
Mr Lloyd is great, it's almost a shame they stopped doing random Kaijin in favour of bikes. Lucky for you, I'm too nice to theft this.
Although it does mean I own this dude. I may not know a single thing about Ryuki, but I do love the aesthetics of a dragon with a sword for a tail. What I don't own is a decent camera, or a non-pee coloured light. https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net...4b&oe=5ED87F3D |

It's time for Kamen Rider W's 10th anniversary celebrations! The So-Do Chronicle W line has been EXTREMELY competitionist, to the extent that the most recent set has given us CycloneAccel Xtreme and Eternal Red Flare! So... what can they possibly do at this point? Give us W again, of course! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505161124.jpg This is no simple re-issue, however -- instead, it's very much a premium do-over of the figure; even featuring mold differences! Joker's side has a lot more texturing and a lot less gloss, while Cyclone has a much more metallic colouring to it! Like recent Chronicle and Zero-One figures, a lot more paint is used in general; on the Driver, on the eyes, and many other parts featuring much more premium paint and molding in general. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505172654.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505172040.jpg Take a look at this strangely scaled comparison to see what a difference a year and a bit can make! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505181502.jpg There's a few new parts, too -- alternate mufflers for flowing in the wind, and a blank maximum slot for a more accurate Joker Extreme! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505172718.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505180056.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505181240.jpg It'll go for 1800 yen for a limited time! ... but it'd be a bit lame to just have a re-do for the anniversary, right? https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505164216.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505182541.jpg PREMIUM BANDAI BIKE TIME, BABY!!!! Forging ahead as the first bike in the Chronicle line, this set comes with all the parts you'd want to recreate any Hardboiler action straight from the show! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505185048.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505190013.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0505191040.jpg I guess time will tell if Accel can combine with em, but for now -- orders from Premium Bandai start tomorrow at 3800 yen! As for Zero-One? Well, we're promised content on both AI08 and Chronicle Kuuga next month; but for now there's a couple questions they're answering! Does Jin Burning Falcon come with a blank buckle? Yup! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0507141604.jpg And does Ichigata come with a... uh... https://i.imgur.com/PNk01VH.png ... well, yeah, he comes with whatever that is! I guess! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0507141818.jpg Link to the blog is below as (hopefully now) always, see you next week! http://bandaicandy.hateblo.jp/entry/20200510_rider |
I won't lie, first glance at the blog, that weird comparison image made me think they were doing "W, but bigger!"
Also I gotta look up all the names of the W bike parts for the wiki, that can wait for the morning, it's 2am and I should sleep. |

I'm trying to do a Faiz write-up real quick before I've got to run an errand (it's a bonkers episode, too, with some peak Inoue Hilarious Melodrama), but I'll be damned if I won't stop what I'm doing to celebrate that amazing machine. I hate me some Premium Bandai, but they got my number with this one. Thanks for the update, Kurona! |

Other than the memories, I'm not sure if the new W has any stickers. He looks incredible, I'll definitely try to find a way to pick him up. The bike looks pretty great too, though I really don't need the attachments. I never found that gimmick particularly interesting

Candy Toy Teamup!! I'm pretty sure this Gatakiriba is from the candy toy line that ran alongside OOO, but I've put him with one of my favourite So-Dos for now.
I also have Zi-O OOO Armour which would have made a lot more sense to put him with, but that would take so much time to take out of storage, maaaan... https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...749/image0.jpg |

Rider Time!
https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191313.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191818.jpg That's right friendos, we're rounding out the Quartzers with Kamen Rider Barklzklz! The self-proclaimed leader of the Quartzers, Barlxkccklckcxlk comes with both versions of his not-Revolcane -- standard and charged up! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191754.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191742.jpg Moreover, Barklzklxklcxklcxklcxkclx's Ridewatches are very nicely detai-- wait-- WHAT?! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191423.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191452.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191714.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191613.jpg UH. OKAY. SURE! Based on the final fight scene of the movie where he powers up with the J and Bio-Rider watches; here's the giant water version of Kamen Rider Barklzxklcxklcxklcxklcxklcxklcxklcxlkzklxzklxcklxcklxc!!!!!! As you can see, they replicate the Heisei Board in a very impressive fashion; using a beautifully detailed sticker to get that broken background effect. He's also the first release to use all clear joints, so you gotta give the man credit where it's due! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514202650.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514191728.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0514201019.png Against all odds, both versions of Shin or whatever he's called take up 4 boxes of AI08 -- this Zero-One wave is overflowing with Heisei Riders! You might think this would mean Tsukuyomi is naturally next, but it seems we're promised a Zero-One figure next. Moving swiftly on-- https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183430.jpg Watch where you point that thing, jeez! Time for a little focus on Chronicle Kuuga Pegasus! First of all, here's the box! Either they're only just mentioning it now or I've somehow missed it for months, but it seems that all four Kuuga figures use the same base body -- so you get four Kuuga Base Body boxes, and one of each armour set. Hopefully it'll make things easier to track down if you just want the one! For Pegasus in particular though, there's naturally replacement parts for the upper arm -- luckily, it comes straight off to make it easy! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183456.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513190326.jpg Much like last time, there's a big focus on the paintjob in this -- and with nothing else in particular to show off, I think we'll end it off with that and some gratuitous Kuuga Gun action! https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513190613.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183414.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183857.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183929.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513183950.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513184039.jpg https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0513184046.jpg That's all for today's fairly bizarre blog! When the Kuuga set comes out, someone please use pieces from all the forms to create the ultimate Kuuga fanfic mode and take a pic.

Also, can't believe I didn't guess "Liquid Transclearant TreeBark" as a release, what a fool I was. What's next, a Burning Falcon Jin that literally sets itself on fire? Also, is it bad I want Green Kuuga just because "Kuuga with a gun" is a meme now? |
Oh, and before I forget; teeeechnically this is a So-Do reveal going by the images and the fact it was revealed on the blog -- an Acrylic Nameplate stand for Kuuga!

Wet Blarckzkxz is such a weird inclusion. Possibly the first time we've got a toy of the big CGI boss though, as they're generally not that toyetic

Has anyone happened to buy from Mandarake recently? What were shipping prices like?

But I did a cheeky comparison bu putting in equivalent items there, and seeing the cost. For what I was ordering (a couple boxes of SO-DO), it was about 1200 Yen, so not that much more than SAL, but then again it was very light. DHS was 2200 or so, not for me thanks. |
