I really hate these eyes. I hope it looks better once we see the whole figure displayed.
I looked forward to buying Ex-Aid so I hope it's only the image which makes it look bad. |
Now I can complete my Heisei Generation line up.
|
the kamen riders from ex aid looks more like SD Gundams

Guess SHFs have just fallen off since Drive. Ghost stuff always looked off to me - the transients are only one shade of black which messes with the look and his the faceplates are kinda too shiny. And then they actually sculpt the face mark when it's supposed to be just painted.
And then the Amazons figures turn out looking funny for various reasons, now this. Ex-Aid looks scrawny and small, and his hair looks a bit misshapen compared to the real suit. Plus nobody has the Gaim/Drive hips anymore. What happened? Gaim/Drive stuff was utterly perfect, only problem was some of the Drive figures were a bit too thin and it messed with the look. |
Aw man, I'm excited for this release! Hope we'll get to see the other Ex-Aid Riders soon!

Also, I didn't mean to imply what Ex-Aid's hips are like, I was thinking mainly about Ghost/Amazons stuff in my post. |
I just don't really see how there's enough to go on from one small, cropped, low resolution image to make any kind of determination on this figure. Good or bad. Just wait til the full reveal on Friday.

I hated the hips on the Ghost Figuart, so happy that the new hips are back.

They couldn't fully manage it since it looks like, as expected, the Gamer Driver is going to hinder range of movement for the waist and thighs. I can't tell from this photo whether the sides of the chest buttons are properly painted. Either the colors are a little off, or this photo is using an odd filter; I suspect it's the latter. We'll have a lot more information soon. |

The head looks a little off to me overall, but I'm not sure why. I'm comparing it to the image they're basing the pose off, and...the head looks kinda small compared to the suit. And by kinda I mean quite a bit. Hopefully it's just the angle and the pose making it look like that.
The eyes do look slightly too big and slightly weirdly shaped, but it may just be the picture. Rest of the figure looks good. Looks like the Gashats are removable, which is cool. The gear has a lot of places to put them in, which should be fun. I hope they have hands specifically to hold them but I'm not holding my breath. (Overall, I guess it's a good thing that none of the Ex-Aid Riders really have signature hand gestures, since at least I won't be as disappointed when they barely come with any). I hope they have the other Riders on display. Wanna see Snipe. |

As long as they do not make Doogie Howser, Black Jack, and Unknown Nickelodeon game show host a limited release I am fine.
|
Looks fantastic. Definitely gonna pick this guy up. Can't wait to see Brave and Snipe as well, those are also must haves for me. Skipping out on Genm, don't need the dark repaint.

Oh snap!
Ex-Aid, Brave, & Snipe 3-pack for 15,768 yen. Releases in March! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800...921/tgrHAi.jpg |
Wh...what???
I mean, that's great that they're all being released, Brave looks great, Snipe is harder to see but he looks good too. But a 3-pack? Is this the only way they're being released? Is this retail? It's...kinda weird. Guess I gotta start saving up too though. I want these guys. ...although. This is the third picture of Ex-Aid we have and. Eh. Yep. Not really feeling that head. The eyes really do seem misshaped and it does looks small, at least compared to Brave's. Or maybe it's the neck or...the pose or something? I don't know. I keep making these excuses for it in my head but it still just looks off. Especially next to Brave who looks pretty much perfect. edit: based off the price I would guess (and hope) this is retail, since it works out to around 5200 a figure. That's a couple hundred yen cheaper than retail Figuarts go for these days, and a whole hell of a lot cheaper than exclusive ones do. I can't really see them selling something through the webshop at these prices. Getting the main Riders in one fell swoop will be neat if this is the case, even though paying all at once may hurt. Now to pray Lazer isn't web exclusive... |
You know what? I might be okay with getting that 3-pack
|
This remind me to Genocider Set. 3 Figuarts in one box.
|
3-pack, huh? I'm all for it! Not a bad deal in the long run.
|
The 3 mains in one shot without a month between releases for a fairly good price?
Sold. |

Seriously, in love with all of them. They look perfect.

Well...I wanted all 3 anyways lol. March though, that's when the Nintendo Switch releases, shit.
|
I have a mighty, mighty need. These look fantastic. Even Ex-Aid, seeing him in more poses makes him look pretty good. The other Riders also look great. Kinda wished they'd gone with fabric parts for Snipe but I knew it wasn't going to happen so I'm not too heartbroken about it.
They come with pretty much literally everything they needed, which was my one worry. All the accessories are there and they even seem to come with enough hands. This is a must buy for me. Only disappointment is the Gashacon Sword is only one blade with differently colored sides like the toy rather than two separate blades for each mode like in the show. That's lame. But that's my only gripe with it. I want them. |
Shut up and take my money. ALL OF IT!
Hope Laser is not exclusive. Genm I can see being exclusive but please not Laser. |
Hmmm this is a really good deal 3 main riders in a 3 pack and it a mass release.
Never though Bandai would go that route with a new rider show before pretty cool. |
First three Ex-Aid Riders looks very cool.
I am also really want Bandai release Level 3 Robots for armor in Figuarts version so Ex-Aid, Brave, and Snipe figuarts can reach Level 3 form. It seems their gamepad armor parts can removable. Probably for Level 3 armor. Hmm....I hope Lazer Level 2 Figuarts can transform into Level 3 Form. If Dragranzer Figuarts and Autovajin Figuarts can be transformable. Why not? :D |
Let me know when pre-orders are up for Brave. GIMME!!!!
|
They're releasing them separately too, right? Or...

If you look around on some sites they are mark down for very little money. The ghosts figuarts can be bought for as little as $20.00. I believe Bandai want to try something new so they go with the three pack. This kind of force people hand into buying this. |

THE GOOD: That it's a 3-pack is great since I want all of them. Moreover, this is a really good sign, as it's a completely new tactic for Bandai. If this sells well enough, they might be willing to dip their collective toes into the water of Sentai again to see whether the Japanese market would by a box of a complete team like the original trio of Gekirangers. Of course, that's extremely optimistic speculation on my part, and there's a case to be made that this indicates Bandai is nervous about how Rider Figuarts will sell. I generally like the sculpts. Brave and Snipe look spot-on. I thought the colors might be very slightly off on Ex-Aid, but the one shot of the three on the stage has mostly put my color fears to rest. It looks like Snipe comes with the Gashacon Magnum in both modes. Thumbs-up on that. The stage is... good, I guess? Well... it's their stage, now. Looks like it's gained some pegs for Tamashii stands. I would've happily traded it, though, for character-appropriate expressive hands or swappable blades for Brave. Retail release means it'll be drastically easier for some of us to obtain. -- THE NOT-SO-GOOD: The hand count is bare-minimum. It looks like each gets default fists, splayed hands, and holding-weapon hands. There's no indication that any of them come with holding-gashat hands. No character-appropriate expressive hands. None of the pictures indicate that the gashats can be removed, much less slotted into the kimewaza slot holder or their weapons. If the lever on the Gamer Driver can move, the pictures don't make it explicit. I know that if I didn't want all three Riders, I'd be seriously annoyed. People who only collect main Riders are kind of getting shafted here, unless there's a single release planned. It seems a little expensive per-figure for the price. These are not Shinkocchou Seihou releases. -- THE BAD: That Brave's Gashacon Blade is reversible like the retail toy is just... UGH. Figuarts should be show-accurate, not beholden to the toys, and this should have been a swappable blade for each mode. The gimmick stuff is what the retail line is for, and I expect better from S.H. Figuarts. These pictures suggest that Bandai simply didn't come up with a solution to prevent Snipe's cape from hindering articulation. The Snipe pictures appear to be carefully staged so that the cape arm doesn't have to do much more than bend at the elbow, although there might be a bicep swivel. I hope I'm wrong about this. There's one shot that suggests there might be a little back movement to the arm, so maybe there's a hinge? What I'm not seeing, though, are the clever solutions I've seen from so many other Rider Figuarts. -- Despite the complaints and my general misgivings, I know I'll be picking this up. I just wish it felt like Bandai were going that extra mile for these figures: that extra value-add that we usually get. These seem... adequate. They're drastically improved over the LVUR releases, of course, but compared to prior Rider Figuarts, I'm unimpressed. Even Ghost came with Yurusen, swappable hoods, and the ability to put the GanGan Saber into two modes. Am I being too harsh? |
