Shout! Factory's next Sentai releases- GaoRanger and JETMAN?!
Jetman.
It's about freaking time. I'd love to support this but I have no desire to re-watch Jetman so I really don't need to own it. Hopefully though this sells well enough that they keep going backwards too. I'd love to see Liveman released on DVD.
Pre-Zyu US releases at last!!!
Praise Zordon! |
...Damn it I have no desire to rewatch Jetman but I'm absolutely buying this to support the Pre-Zyu shows.
Absolutely two of the BEST choices possible. Jetman is by and large one of if not the best of the Pre-Zyuranger shows, though I'd admit Liveman probably beats it out.
Gaoranger is absolutely my favorite series of all time. It finally being realized in official subbed DVD form is like a dream come true for me. |
Well if they are going backwards with the Pre-Zyu Sentai, then that means the last Pre-Zyu Sentai we get on DVD is going to be Gorenger.

I almost miss read Gaoranger for Goranger. Having Goranger on DVD would be very nice. However I would imagine it would be very pricey than most Sentai DVDs due to how long the show is.
I do think Shout! should put these shows on Blu-Ray soon since most companies like Sentai Filmworks and Discotek have plans to stop using DVDs and just move on to the Blu-Ray format. |
Does anyone know if these Sentai dvds have been released in Europe? I can't find ones that are region 2

Giddy that we’re gonna get Jetman on DVD. Hopefully this means Goranger and JAKQ in the near future. :D
Oh man, I really want to see both if these shows!
Do these sets ever come with their respective movies?

Cool.
None of the Pre-Zyu Sentai really interested me, as Jetman was only alright in my book, but I am glad that it's getting an official release! I'm still waiting for them to reach Gekiranger, but still, going backwards is also a really nice surprise! |
Yes! I love Jetman! I will definitely buy this.
Jetman is a great show. I do think some people do over hype it as a high art drama show though. Still a very good show nevertheless.
That I can own Jetman to Timeranger on DVD makes me very happy.
In all seriousness as much as this is great I just hope the subtitle translation work does not burn out the people who work on them. Good stuff though.
Just wait you guys we will get Six Sentai seasons on DVD next year.
If they do this right, it should be Gorenger and Ninninger right after
Pumped to be able to have an official Gentleman DVD!
I kept pestering Shout Factory about Jetman. I'm hoping my annoyance led to this release.

Sentai Blu-ray

I talked with the producer of the Super Sentai DVDs and he said that Toei shot these shows on film and edited on Video Tape for many years. It wouldn't surprise me if they wait until Boukenger to start doing Blu-ray releases. If I recall correctly, Boukenger was when they started shooting Sentai Digitally in 720p or at least finishing them at 720p. |
If it has a Blu-Ray releases in Japan, then sure. Otherwise don't fuck with Toei. Both Funimation and Viz were screwed over by Toei for daring to ask to do Blu-Rays of DBZ and Sailor Moon before Japan got them. Toei gave them bad masters to work from because of this.
Meanwhile, Shout just wanted to add subtitles and nothing else and the releases are of equal quality (though I still hope Timeranger is of better quality. I hear the Japanese are crap). |

Depends on how much Hasbro can bring Power Rangers up to popular standing again, which would push sales of the imported satire material. Also depends on some side factors of recouping costs, like licensed to air by places like IFC or other outlets. |
