Asou got shoehorn in as a cameo to reference another kiva will live on in sougo's memories. Ginga, sougo's childhood fruends and enemies, and crush all appeared without any foreshadowing or built up to make use care or have any impact in the span of 2 episodes each respectively. Kabuto will get tsuki/decade cameos as well. If Tendou is around, then he'll kick a lot of ass and contend for being the more intelligent and skillful playr.

Wow the sub of this episode is up quick! I like it.
Well all in all I liked the episode. Yeah Ginga lost a tad to quick, could have lasted another episode really with how OP he was. Another episode would have raised his threat level better. I did like Woz Ginga though and his abridged "Iwae". I maybe in the minority but I liked Yuko's character. She was unlike any of the guest character the show had. Obviously something's wrong with her if she thought murder by manhole cover shouldn't get her jail time but she at least will be memorable. I wonder though about the cameo of Yu Takahashi. Was she supposed to be Yuri? But she should be much older if that was the case so I wonder if she was supposed to be a random woman who reminded Sougo of his first love. |

Okay, so. I thought it was funny in the previous episode when she made use of the manhole cover twice. Like once it was cool, but the second time made it almost a funny recurring thing.
I did not think the manhole cover was actually going to be her recurring thing, because that's unintentionally hilarious? Like, when she crashed that wedding holding one in her hand, she looked really silly. Also wow, not even a throwaway explanation as to what the deal with Ginga is or about his Miridewatch. I had hoped Woz's upgrade form would have a bit more significance for the character, but it really feels no more special than any of his other forms, other than just being more powerful. A shame because I think I like the new form in terms of aesthetics, though it got a really short showing for it's debut. Oh yeah, the resolution with Another Kiva's story was all... underwhelming. |

It's just a random actor cameo, probably. |
Wait, yeah, duh. Forgot she was from the 80s segment.
Ignore me, I'd just gotten up |
So Yuri's actress came back...only to not be Yuri.
Anyway, I didn't think this tribute was as good as the last several ones. Ginga was mostly tacked on, plus also the significants of it too. What I did like was the whole Yuko plot, even if it was mostly predictable, but the end reveal kind of dampens it though. |
Frankly felt a bit rushed. Maybe would have been better if Ginga had some more to do but also lasted longer than two episodes?
|
No one is bothered by the fact that Ginga has no purpose or backstory at all?Dude literally fell from the sky to be a power-up for Woz.
Thats lazy writing at it's finest. |

It appeared that Ginga was weakened when the sun was blocked out and I was hoping for sougo or geitz to get the kiva ridwatch and have the upside down finisher like kiva that brings the night out and take out ginga that way. |
What's this? Ginga came out of nowhere and just seemed to be an upgrade for Woz?
Excellent work Inoue, classic Inoue. That definitely helped sell the full Kiva experience. |
I'll say this much. From the baffling attempts to get the viewer emotional, to the abruptly arrived power-up, I was definitely reminded of the most 'memorable' parts of Kiva.
|
Well snap. I can't tell if this was a brilliant self-parody of Inoue's own work or just a bad episode. Probably a bit of both.
It's self-aware enough to use visual comedy but perhaps not enough to save it from some cringe-worthy dialogue. The use of the man-hole cover as both a murder weapon and a shield powerful enough to block a blast from Ginga made me laugh out loud. And then, just when you think it's over, she crashes the wedding with it too! Obviously the staff were very aware of how ridiculous the script was. The romance between Sougo and Yuko is soooooooo bad. Her character sure is fun though. Just completely over-the-top. Ginga had some cool moves with a great use of special effects, but man did he feel rushed and pointless. He got beaten way too easily as well. And like, it's not like they used the power of the sun to their advantage after finding out his weakness. They simply just Rider-kicked him. The only good part about Ginga's arrival was that we got to see the Time Jacker's team up with the Riders, but even that was short-lived and felt superficial. Ginga Finally looks great and the VFX used for the Rider kick looked phenomenal. But Woz really didn't have much to do in this episode, so it really doesn't feel earned or bombastic enough as a debut for his final form. Liked his abridged "Iwae" though. Kiva elements had me wanting more. Jiro's fight as Garulu was cool (as was his mentioning of being a guard of Kiva's) but too brief. Yuri wasn't even actually Yuri, and her cameo lasted less than a minute. This is the first time that the returning legends don't actually play their original role. Despite all this, Takahashi Yu and Tomokazu Sugita are credited as Yuri Aso and Kivat respectively on the website. I guess it was more of a special guest thing rather than a full-on cameo. Don't know how I feel about Jiro just up and vanishing after giving the Kiva RideWatch too, leaving Dogga and Bassha as toys. Speaking of which, that Kiva Armor tease, man. I dunno. All this stupidity actually makes me realize that this was a pretty faithful tribute to Kiva in terms of writing and concepts. But man. I think I prefer what we had going on with Agito and Hibiki instead. At least those felt exciting. Kabuto's next and thankfully, it does appear to be going back in that direction. |
Actually Since another kiva have the power of the moon/night which is weakness of ginga and she did hit the center piece of ginga before they throw their weapon at him. It seems that it weakened ginga by a lot and zi-o sword was able to pierce the center piece that was previously hit by another kiva.

Not gonna lie....this was kinda the worst episode of Zi-O for me, which I've mostly been enjoying.
Everything felt really weird and abrupt. |
I have to give props to Yuko for her commitment to a shtick. It cannot be easy to lug manhole covers around whenever she wants to murder somebody.
I didn't hate the episode, but it was definitely overstuffed with a lot more content than it could handle. Kenji Matsuda's cameo was cool, if a little nonsensical, but Yu Takahashi's appearance was the weakest cameo since the Gaim arc. |
Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
https://i.imgur.com/1LgaP6m.jpg I'd make some comment about grabbing tissues, but, come on, look at who wrote this. It's a safe bet not many of us are going to take this episode at face value. Which is to say: It's Inoue Time! Oh boy, is it ever Inoue Time. I'm not gonna lie, part of me missed seeing episodes of Rider like this, and as a weird, strange, and frankly bizarre experiment, I'd say this was really fun and totally worth the fortnight spent on it. Just... don't do this again, okay, Zi-O? I'm not sure how exactly to describe how I feel about this episode. I want to sound like I'm praising it because I legitimately really enjoyed myself (way more than the first part), but it's also a pretty crappy episode (probably more than the first part), so I don't know. I'm not crying my eyes out by the time we get to the climax, but I was weirdly impressed by it? Like, I'm definitely going to remember these episodes in the future because they have such a unique identity from the rest of the show between the manhole cover obsessed guest character and the levels of angst that could only be higher if Die Set Down started playing over the ending. Whether or not the episode is strictly "good" or not stops mattering to me at that point. Which is convenient, because the episode was also definitely NOT the epitome of quality writing. The sorta-romance between Sougo and Yuuko is so out-there it almost works (I'm sorry), but even I can't stick up for this plot when Spaceman McGee is over here wasting everybody's time with his pointless inclusion in this narrative. Literally the only thing Kamen Rider Ginga contributes to this plot is being a different bad guy running around so Another Kiva can have her little moments with Sougo, and it's not like they couldn't have accomplished the same result in a different, less inexplicable way. I don't even know if this guy is technically a Mirider or whatever because none of the other characters even seem to care who he is. Frankly, it was a more satisfying appearance by Ginga in Kamen Rider when Takuya Negishi showed up in Ex-Aid. If this actually isn't the last we'll see of him, then maybe I'll change my tune on him as a character, but even then, this is really not the way to introduce a new Rider. Or a new power-up, for that matter, but if we wanna start talking about Inoue and power-ups... At any rate, hopefully things are a lot less crazy next week. |
