Original Shows
Why don't have have original american henshin hero show ?
|
Well they have Batman and Spiderman. Except they have to henshin manually.
|
Because there's no real demand for it.
|
Too expensive. Saban tried it back when Power Rangers was at peak popularity and found that it was more cost effective to just keep adapting Japanese shows instead. It's a genre that never really maintained popularity, too; Power Rangers has stuck around, but no other, similar series ever managed to match its popularity and companies moved on to cartoons based on collecting monsters, children's card games, and so on.

What about MECH X4 ?

Or Capcom could release X9 |
When Disney announced a PR-esque show i was expecting a henshin heroteam.
|
Not a big enough market for it. American has it's own superheroes, so I don't think any TV network would like to see a American superhero similar to ones from Japan.

I just hope that new Captain Power show don't be a comedy sitcom.
|
Honestly the DC Comics shows are pretty much Tokusatsu shows. I watch Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow and they all remind me of like hour long Kamen Rider Shows. Hell, the Flash has as much Drama or more than Faiz did.
Though I think with Power Rangers not being as successful as it used to be is probably why. Though maybe if the movie is successful there might be more of reason to try to get more here. |

I do agree that American superhero TV shows and movies are the closet thing that we have Toku shows and movies. Not to mention Tokusatsu just means "Special Effects" in Japan. Any movie and TV show in Japan with large use of special effects are consider to be Tokusatsu (Sci-Fi movies that are not Henshin heroes like The H-Man, Battle in Outer Space and Prophecies of Nostradamus are consider to be Toku films). |
Captain Power could be also considered a toku too ?

Captain Power is a Canadian-American TV show. I would not call it Toku since I think Toku should be used for Japanese movies and TV shows (Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Masked Rider and Dragon Knight get a free pass for being adaptions).
From what I seen of Captain Power (The show is before my time), it does remind me a bit of Japanese toku heroes. |
Because of the armors, right ?
|
Despite the dodgy CG, I loved Captain Power (and the Soldiers of the Future). It was an ambitious show that had a lot of potential and, at least as I recall, took its story pretty seriously. I need to dig up the DVDs and marathon it sometime soon.

Why is take too long to make the new show ?

Who knows, it's possible (if unlikely) they're just too busy making the darn thing to talk about it. :D |

D you guys think the new show will be a sitcom comedy show ?
|
No. The first series, while it had it's comedic moments like any other show, was pretty serious, particularly for an American kid's show.

Could Saban Brands make a original show someday ?
|
They already tried back in the day, Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog. Given the cost at the time (creating the suits, all new footage, medieval setting and such) I don't think they're trying again anytime soon.
|
Not Saban Brands but, perhaps another company.
