Sakura's debut was the as-expected-of-Sugihara cool.
Very interested in Hiromi, obviously. He says quickly that he was once bullied and longed for a hero. Now he wants to be somebody's hero. (He's already my hero) And now he's having trouble trying to use the MORE function of the belt. So my guesses: 1. He dies protecting someone, spamming the MORE function. 2. He survives the show and gets a training arc Necrom style to surpass the MORE function and use more than two. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FFPhFh8V...jpg&name=small |
You know that moment where you always wonder why the villain never attacks the hero during their Henshin Sequence?
I think Jeanne has an asnwer to that... |
I waited so long for this hoohoo!!!!! (genm laugh)
iwae! Kamen rider jeanne! |
Japan's got a weird thing for being stepped on by women - at least for Reiwa. Valkyrie and Sabela also pinned someone to the ground when they debuted.
I do love that the Igarashi family thus far has very distinctive suit designs from one another, but the henshin sequence is basically the same. I personally prefer a uniform henshin sequence in a series rather than something like Build. |
Man, I hope they don't kill off Hiromi by Christmas. I mean, they have learned from Lazer, right?.............Right?
Loving the KR Jeanne suit. Can't wait for the SHF where they have to put a bendy wire for her tail attack. |

I was going to swear off getting any of the Revice SHFs so I could focus on getting the Saber SHFs, but goddamn I want to get Demons and Jeanne. |
How rare, a gag in this show actually landed. I loved seeing Sakura's demon getting bullied by the mooks. It was hilarious and adorable :lol
Now we just need Kagerou to make a comeback and we can have a full demon squad going on! Episode was fine, overall. Sakura's debut as Jeanne was pretty cool. Not sure why her transformation had a water theme considering her belt and stamp is supposed to be a caged cobra, but whatever. I do wish she wasn't a "Speed" style character. She trains in Karate, which mostly uses strong stances and hard, direct hits, but oh well. Was fun. Wonder if Sakura will get an upgrade that'll let her demon be more than a literal punching bag. |
Dang i don't remember Female KR debut that this bombastic..
I remember seeing Valkyrie and Sabela but i don't think their energy same as KR jeane debut.. that was something As for Hiromi i think its perfect segway to explain whatever his belt is because ironicly his name is KR demons yet we haven't see his demon yet(unless you count that little spider 5hingy) also i like Daiji just give WTF face when hiromi explain his childhood :D |

Sabela's isn't as bombastic because she's not supposed to be like that, she did well in showing off her acrobatics though, props to the suit actress and whoever directed action to show how Sabela used her small frame to her advantage. |
Great episode, I'm really happy with how they handled Sakura's character and introduced Kamen Rider Jeanne.
Her demon Lovekov is perfect. Really fun and the design reminds me of the old Metal Heroes SD robots. Had a good laugh too when she dissed Vise at the end :lol Quote:

A small touch that I like about Revice is that all of our Riders thus far have some sort of background for their distinctive fighting styles. You can tell Revi was a soccer player and Live has a military background(don't really need to explain Jeanne). It's a really small detail that goes a long way.

Water Cobra, Ice Lion, Lightning Hornet.
Yep, sounds like Tokusatsu. |
I liked this episode very much. I don’t know why they haven’t mentioned it yet, but I definitely saw Genie from "Aladdin" in Jeanne design. I wonder what secondary stamps she will get? So far, it seems to me that Hiromi is getting Shova Riders (well, except for Dubble, but this is probably because Ikki has Faiz to fly), and Daiji is getting Riders with dark counterparts. Maybe Sakura will get Reiwa?
According to Lovekov: Still, I guessed that her demon would be kawaii. True, I did not assume childishness, but this is logical for the youngest in the family. But now we really have daemons of all types: Revi - kaijin; Demons - toy; Live - human; Jeanne - maskot. As for Hiromi, I think he needs to talk to his demon to become stronger. It's just that all the other Riders transformed, pacifying their demons (and each in a different way), and Hiromi skipped this part. Even if the spider is just a substitute device, it can still have some kind of personality. It is also strange that the villain with the Planaria was not detained. I wonder what are the plans for him in the future? However, it is obvious that Gifu should awaken, which means that the Dead will slowly expand their ranks. |
Found a drawing of a trio of demons from Revice:

Basically, FENIX ship goes down to resupply and its troops are on leave, including Hiromi. Which is why he's on casual clothes. Both he and Ikki's belts are taken by George to get fixed up and prepared for Barid, leaving Daiji and Sakura to defend the base as the Deadman make theri assault. |
Ikki = Vice, an actual devil.
Dajii = Kagero, a devil in the shape of a human. Sakura = Loveko, a devil in the shape of a toy. Hiromi = The Rex Deadman. Out of all them, Vice is the one that truly unique, because even when Ikki use the Rex Vistamp to bring him out he stayed the way he looked, unlike the other inner devil that took the form of the animal that the Vistamp has on it. |

In terms of bombastic female riders, we've always had Nadeshiko.

As Sakura's debut becoming Jeanne, yeah, time for the other characters to bring up about Sakura's edgelord behavior, with Yukimi stating that she does like to act tough (and confirmed more by her noting that she's obviously anxious, but covers it up by acting mean and provocative to the family), and Ikki approaching her to tell her to drop her tough act (instead of holding her back again). As she's a teen, I guess the show doesn't pull its punches on showcasing teenage puberty in a rather negative light, culminating in her lashing out in bratty-like manner at the beginning (albeit Daiji was also too strict and harsh). The resolution would be, of course, for her to accept reality that she's not unbeatable, from her encounters with Aguilera before, that she's only human among the superpowered Riders and Deadmans, a normal fish in a tiny pond. This isn't an universe where training will turn you superhuman, unlike Build with Hazard Levels prominently shown in Banjou. A situation where someone is powerful but helpless, showing that one can't solve every problem just by being what they're an expert at, but there's lessons like how one can gain somehow by losing, or there's great value in expanding one's expertise. By accepting her human weakness she'd open to more improvements, like accepting the power of Kamen Rider in addition to her karate skills so she can properly fight, and gimmick-wise, getting in touch with her demon Lovekov (her name being Japanese syllables of "cobra" - コブラ rearranged backwards), literally showing her weakness to others with Sakura not having any problem for that, just asking others to take care of the literal punching bag. I guess Mesnick was right that demons aren't necessarily something morally lacking, like most of demons shown before including Vice and Kagerou, but it can be anything shameful within themselves.
Jeanne of course had to be made the hand-to-hand combatant to make full use of her karate skills, where in comparison previously Gaim had Yoko, a spy combatant, becoming a Rider that mainly relies on bow instead. I do admit that while I expected that, her fighting here does surprass my expectations to make a great debut like what others said, with neat variations of punches and kicks that she gave to the Giff Juniors like juggling one of them to the horde of enemies. Albeit it's not perfect where Matrixbeast notes that karate uses strong stances and hard, direct hits (gotta take his words as while I'm martial artist, I don't take karate). Jeanne turned the battle against bigger horde of Giff Juniors in heroes' favor as a karate master, but I hope they'd live up of the claim of Sakura having greater potential than her 2 older brothers in later scenes, though I'm speculating that she'd be similar to Leangle in Blade, the strongest among base Riders, but others particularly main can surprass by getting upgrades. I hope she'd be the tertiary instead of Hiromi though, complete family Riders as package. I guess Ikki still had some ways to go on putting faith on others, where as shown here, against his parents he tried to claim that Sakura is fine, but actually the parents would also know her better that she's even more despondent as usual that she didn't ask for Yukimi's guidance like she usually does. And now the english name of Igarashi's onsen Happy Spa is also fully canon with Ikki wearing a shirt with that name written. There's a lesson for Daiji as well that him being professional can make him too uptight or even patronizing, against Sakura here, and that he may need to loosen up and acknowledge that something outside of legal can work well, or even better, sometimes law can be on the way to accomplish good instead. Again for Daiji to Sakura, like Daiji and Ikki before, both parties have their share of blame instead of only one having full blame. Other than the rehabilitation Seiko gets, she had to learn here that there are various help you can go for, with she almost giving up on Ryou, like how here, Fenix would be the one to try taking care of Ryou. There's more about Hiromi shown in this episode, that it's revealed that his backstory had him being bullied and hoping for a hero to save him, but there were none, so he became his own hero. Reminds that you better not wait around hoping for something you want but work on it (of course, being successful or not is another matter..), and gotta see if they'd do more with Hiromi's backstory here, but the reveal is very abrupt though in my opinion, Hiromi suddenly talking about his backstory out of nowhere, and like, it's in the middle of fight before henshin, that can left them open to the Giff Junior's attacks. Otherwise, I guess Hiromi resembles Spider-Man as human too, not only as Rider. I guess I didn't see it coming for George's reaction to Jeanne, from his potential excitement of stating that Sakura had a demon inside her, but he's instead enraged here, shouting his way off to Daiji too, and he states that Libera Driver is something he scrapped. Probably another sign of his pettiness too like Kuroto and Ryoma, in this case, probably hating if someone can make use of something he treated as failure, meaning they know the device better than George. Amahiko lives up to his title as the "savior of Deadmans" where he rises their level by mass producing phase 2 Deadmans, but as usual, he didn't learn about how obsessed Aguilera is with Giff, thus making a joke about becoming Giff himself is a bad idea. That'd mean Amahiko's proper goal is still unknown despite being questioned here. Like usual, she'd ignore words coming from anyone beneath her, continuing from how she's bossy and hates being ordered. Aguilera making a decent point here that happiness can come in many forms, but that probably can be another temptation for Sakura that it's a relief she takes her brother's words instead. And a hint of her backstory as well that she was raised by Deadmans since toddler and apparently "thankful". She's also instead excited at Sakura's performance as Jeanne despite her wiping out one of the larger Deadman squad. Again, this gives me Parado vibe regarding how he interacts with Emu and is interested at seeing him come at the top. Quote:

Really, really liked the introduction of Jeanne. It feels like it's been a long time since we got a Rider who favors martial arts over weapons and/or throwing CGI effects at monsters. Jeanne's style is appreciably brutal and I'm looking forward to more of her.
Also more Lovekov. I didn't know what Sakura's demon would look like but there is literally nothing the show could have done that was better than this. |

I also really like the idea that compared to Revi fighting alongside his demon and Live using his demon's power, Jeanne is essentially a brutal one-woman army... while her demon is like the most pathetic thing in the world and has to be protected. Jeanne is the physical manifestation of an escort mission :lol |

Kamen Rider getting into Pokemon? Wouldn't be the first.

I enjoyed this one and it was nice seeing Sakura’s little arc here come to a close. Jeanne is a cool design, probably my favorite suit in the show so far, and Lovekov is unexpectedly adorable. I loved her dissing Vice. I think with this we are probably out of the prologue stretch of episodes, so hopefully the plot picks up nicely from here.
Honestly I can’t get over the weird comedy value of the scene with Hiromi and Daiji. Daiji’s baffled reaction to Hiromi trying to dump backstory on him out of nowhere made it wrap around from weird to just funny. |

You can't be Muteki! There's already Ex-Aid Hyper Muteki! Might as well be *Insert Invincible Title Screen here*
So last episode, I must confess, was probably one of the weaker episodes in Revice. Mainly because I felt like Ikki would have taken Sakura's side and tried to help the kid in need, given his personality and motivations, so having him do nothing felt... off, to say the least. But we got some cool fight scenes at least. This episode fared better (finally a two-parter), and yet the resolution sort of felt hollow, likely because Sakura was getting the most focus out of this, not that it's a bad thing, she got a pretty solid debut, and dare I say it, better than most Female Riders I've seen. Lovekabu (Is that what we're going with) was every bit entertaining I was hoping for, and Vice's reaction to her getting clobbered was priceless. Though I'm afraid "trash" is a little fitting for him given how his best moments are mostly when he's not fighting, seriously, I think he'd benefit more if he could take a Deadman solo (though him tripping on the 2 was amusing). I don't dislike him, but they are downplaying the two-as-one Rider theme, which I hope that now that the Igarashi siblings have become the Three Musketeers, there's hope. Also, either Sakura's arc is not yet complete, or she's not disappearing from the photo. Jeanne was fantastic in action (I only just now realize she has a ponytail), but gosh dang, is her standby one of those "gets old fast" kinds, ala Wizard or Live's (I can see why George scrapped it). But overall, she had a strong debut. I guess Aguilera's not into guys, or at least the doctor guy's not her type/fitting sacrifice for Gifu. Watch as Bu-San (absolute wild card by the way) becomes the unexpected villain. :lolol Next Episode: Loki's attacking the Helicarrier! Wait, wrong universe. |
So, Vice is a Stand, Kagerou is a body swapping Hyde entity, and Lovekov is a...Pokemon/familiar thing?

I was very confused how last episode ended with Revi seemingly getting knocked out while still henshined and just lying there with his toothy grin. So the immediate reveal in the cold open here that he was merely taking a time out was some unexpected comedy for me!

Sorry that I didn't mention my usual Remix and Machine parallel last week as I was hoping to. I'll do it now instead. Brachio is a Tallneck. One of the few Machines that can't be overridden and doesn't flee or attack you sight. A moving vantage point you can climb. As a bonus, I thought about Lion Remix some more and it looks similar to a Ravager. |

As I speculated in the Rumors Thread, I'm guessing this playing into Vice possibly taking control of Ikki, as some of the sequences in the opening suggest we're heading for that. Quote:
