Kamen Rider Zi-O Episode 6 "555-913 2003!" Discussion
After defeating the powerful Another Fourze, Sougo is stunned when ANOTHER AnotherRider emerges from the battle! What is the secret behind this strange new creature?
Watch SuperHeroTime Via Livestream!! Check out episodes as they air on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block now start at 8PM EST on Saturdays! |
So would this be they have to respond double time, or are they in overtime? xD
Can't wait to watch the episode! |
I like the fact that this episode's name is a phone number. I hope this fix that the filling that something is off/missing from the show. Thankfully this feeling seems to be getting smaller with the last two episode. I think Woz is what is helping me since I love him.
|
I liked this episode. It was enjoyable. :D
Nice fights and the show seems to be getting better. |
Nice mari cameo. Beast is getting a ride watch too. Too bad it's one episode, which doesn't explain the messy faiz timeline across all movies specials + no real current 555 action.
|
An alright episode. It definitely felt rushed, with the continuity being pretty inconsistent, unlike last week's fairly well edited episode.
I really feel like Faiz needed a two-parter. Last week's Fourze tribute was fantastic because it captured the feel of the show even without the lead actors present. With this episode they had both Takumi and Kusaka and they got sizable roles, so it sucks that it was only for one episode. I did like the little character callbacks, like Kusaka being a total creep and Takumi being a nekojita and talking about his dream while presenting a business card for Keitaro's laundromat. But like, so much missed opportunity. I wish we could have seen the Kaixa suit, and more of Faiz. The short flashback to episode 02 of Faiz with Mari was welcome but it was so obvious that it was old footage. And using Over, Quartzer as the insert instead of Justifaiz is so disappointing. I did like how the twist was that the two kids who were essentially repeating the last 15 years were Ryuseiji like Kusaka, which was a red herring from Woz's cryptic advice from the previous episode. And it's a nice reference to Faiz as well, subtly respecting its history. But the plot has so many issues. I think it stems from the whole 15 years repeating. What was Takumi doing during this time? If she was the one who asked Kusaka to help her, why did she seem so defensive both times? Not to mention the randomness of Another Faiz giving Sakuma the ability to steal life energy of extremely specific girls. The whole thing is convoluted and falls apart as you think about it. But at the end of the day, you do get a sappy love story with bad communication between characters who like to sacrifice their lives to protect others, so I guess it really was a Faiz tribute through and through. Faiz Armour was pretty cool, I really liked the use of the Faiz Phone X and the return of some of the original gadgets. If there is one thing I liked about this episode, it was the fight scenes. The acting is still bad though. Geiz is probably the best actor in the main cast, but Sougo is just.... ugh. Lastly, the .5 episode was excellent, as usual. They mention how they failed to get Fukushi and Yoshizawa back because of their schedules and you get some fun references to Faiz and it's characters and how they relate to Fourze (though they could all just be false at the end of the day). Plus they end it with a line blaming Shirakura for the everything, lol. And my favourite line - "Why do you make it sound like I have too much free time" -Kento Handa Next up, Wizard! And we get a little Haruto nod, though we know he won't be returning. But at least Beast is! |

Another Faiz existing erases those. But for now at least, the series only deals directly with nods to the tv shows themselves. Not the movies yet. Waiting on the subs to watch it fully still. But going off of the previous .5 episodes, do keep in mind this is re-writing time so that the other shows didn't happen, and it's also ignoring side content/sequel content too. So it's more fourth wall breaking tv shows as one united timeline but all in the same world. So there will be some slight continuity variations since they do have to keep it streamlined for average audiences and not die-hards that know every detail of every show. This is more like quilt work than it is like a solid thread. |
This was the first zi-o episode that I liked. I still think that woz is oma-zio. He's helping zi-o collect ride watches so that he can steal all of them for himself. I can't see Sougo turning into oma-zio unless something truly tragic happens to him and he becomes bitter and angry.

Liked the episode, and the twist, as well as the callback to Faiz episode 1's car accident too.
Solid good episode overall. Also liked how the Time Jackers are getting more fleshed out, and found it interesting that in a way the Another Faiz carried Takumi's orphenoch aspects too on draining life. Though was inverted as Time Jackers do to make it grant that life energy to another. And how that carried over in the zodiac aspect to Fourze which makes sense. From the next time clip, seems they are about to speed up show pace and development too, and we're getting more on why Sougo became Oma Zi-O and how Geiz and Tsukuyomi are key pieces of that, and also maybe how that may change. Show seems to be picking up on development and it was nice to see Geiz get some character focus. Speaking of, it kind of makes sense why he has the Ghost ride watch too. In connotation of series abilities, them dealing with a rider that can't be seen would be pretty impossible. So that skip ahead rather made sense, and would make for an interesting flashback or side story later too. Also with how far back Faiz's erasure was, it explains why his movie events aren't in play, since as of right now they've been erased from the timeline as if his show never existed. Though is curious how he still has the belt, but seemingly no power in it, and no memory of how it's supposed to work. Really liked how they managed to tie everything together. Made many things more obvious, but also still assumed the audience was smart and didn't bother with heavy exposition on other things. And I take that back about quilt work over a solid thread. Because of how timelines are erased into the riders never existing, it makes the quilt work become one solid straight line thread. So everything can exist in one world because none of their material existed. Which is why various monsters that'd cause a chaotic world don't exist since the rider ceased to exist. At least from what we saw last week with the monster disappearing when Fourze did, and this week with how it's implied the Oprhenoch disappeared when Faiz did. Which we can assume Mari survived since Kusaka and Takumi still became friends through their connection through her. Because of her history at the Ryuusei school too. Though now I want to see that story in how Takumi and Mari became friends, since this changes the entire aspect of her accidentally stealing his bag. Or at least how the aftermath of that played out instead of an Orphenoch fight. Unless the erasure only takes effect at the point of another rider creation so that part is still intact only without orphenochs and a working belt. |
Is it just me or does Takumi have a deeper sounding voice here? Well its been a while since I saw Faiz so I might not be remembering his voice correctly.

Damn, takumi's voice is deep. I think he's doing it on purpose like M. His voice was entirely different back 15 years ago, but idk if he's smoking, but he started using this voice in both return in gaim and drive.Kusaka is like vegeta now. I thought he was after her powers to keep himself alive. A lot of Easter egg catch phrases and tie in to 555 like the tone of people dying and regrets. Mari was cleverly edited back there with the dehenshin. Faiz and kaiza's history are already rewritten, so that's why they're alive and can't henshin, but if takumi have the ride watch then doesn't mean it's a confirm time paradox that ohma zio can't be stopped. The same with why aura is affected or was there after schwartz. Time is too confusing to overthink and even the writers doesn't care about continuity like dragonball. I kind of wish there were more respect and acknowledgement to the toku alumni. I guess they need to develop their own characters and stories then touch on each rider lore. It's good the motw is not a generic no brain jab. Also, the uncle seems to purposely drop hints or it's unrelated to the overall story. Nice throw back to the laundry mat and ryusei hs. Inui is fully human now. |
Oh it's very reminiscent of kiva with the two timeline. If they do kiva with Grease's actor then they can utilize something similar, but we might just get a few ride watches handed in bulk. The Karin's actress look so familiar. I'm surprise her bf wasn't age up in beard after 15 years of being depress. Did they just retcon defeating fourze in present time? I guess after maybe another few plot heavy tribute, time jackers might up the motw thenselves.

I almost crying when Karin is disappeared and die again.....
Geiz Faiz Armor looks badass and very cool even he can uses Faiz Shot and Faiz Pointer. |
Not a fan of this kind of show, but a lot of main riders reacting to their respective show. Also, teenage faiz as delta. This was the show with over dramatize cliffhanger and random fight that isn't the typical motw general formula. Interesting bts with ex aid actors like rpm special. You can hear the squeal from the audiences when kabuto and deno clips were shown, which mean they're super famous after graduating toku to ever come back unless it's some major non-guest reuinon project along with better pay and on set experiences.

Something else fun about this two parter were the another Riders themselves.
Defeat Fourze and it's revealed to be Faiz. Defeat Faiz, and it's back to Fourze. It's a count up joke at the start of the two parter, and a countdown joke at the end of the two parter. |
Sad to say, Zi-O isn't really doing it for me and I might just drop it...for now. Maybe I might marathon it when the show's almost done.

I think I'm at the place with Zi-O right now that I was with Wizard: the show has some elements that I like and I really want to enjoy it, but I'm just not that into it. I still have some high hopes for the series, but I think it's suffering right now from trying to establish the main cast, establish the villains, do anniversary tributes with returning characters, and tell some kind of two-part story all at the same time. Hopefully the show will improve once we have a better handle on the characters, but for now it's pretty rough going.

Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
https://i.imgur.com/6sfzCO1.jpg Time for more understated, yet somehow even cooler behind-the-back explosions. Koichi Sakamoto knows what the people want. I utterly adored this episode. It's definitely got most of the same problems that have been hounding Zi-O since the start (namely questionable story logic and a whole lot of missed opportunities), but between my guy Takkun stealing the show even when he's just standing around, the increasingly strong characterization of the main cast, the way the plot pays off all the setup from last week, and the once again excellent action, this is my favorite episode of the show so far. They really exceeded my expectations when it came to blending the Fourze and Faiz plots together by not only having some clever twists (the shooting star thing was very smooth), but using the revelations of the Another Rider's motives to effortlessly pivot the story in a darker, more melodramatic direction that matches up perfectly with Faiz just as much as the last episode matched Fourze. I also cannot understate how much I appreciate Sougo giving Geiz the Faiz Ride Watch as a gesture of trust. That was a shockingly proactive move from him and is just one more sign that he's gradually growing into the interesting character he was meant to be. He gets more and more kingly with each passing episode. The following dual timeline fight using Over Quartzer to highlight the teamwork going on was equally nice. The whole concept of Geiz coming from the future and the ups and downs his relationship with the guy he's pretty sure is going to become an evil overlord one day has is just filled to the brim with dramatic potential, so the more focus that aspect of the show gets the happier I am. |
You know, if there's one thing I do really like about Zi-O it's that the writers have clearly done their research on the original shows. I've really enjoyed all the minor details in these last two episodes like Takumi not being able to drink the hot tea or Ohsugi still having Sonoda's photo in his desk.
Also, I friggin' love the Another Rider designs. I hope Bandai never makes figures of them because I will buy them all. |

Imagine when S.I.C does Zi-O, we get additional armor parts to swap out to make the Another Riders too? |
Something that I noticed that's a small touch but I appreciate it. Zi-O has the rider armors attach to his front while Geiz has them attach from the back similar to how the toys and the toy armors attach. Pretty neat!
|
do you think they ever gonna create another zio(im not mean oma zio) for movie maybe some special
also i think wizard will be 2 parter |
Oh hey, this is a pretty fucking messed up episode and I'm not even halfway through it as of typing this sentence. A-Fourze headbutting Kusaka was a neat callback as Genatarou would often headbutt his foes too. This is surprisingly deep for a mere monster of the week too, Kamen Rider hasn't had a good regular Motw with this depth since I want to say Drive right? I really feel terrible for Sakuma because I've had to mourn before and yeah if I were part of this show I'd probably end up doing the same. Hora's reaction to Another Fourze means Swartz is the wild card of their group. Oh, and can I just say that Faiz Armour looks fucking amazing? Using the FaizPhone to make that knuckle thing's cool too, especially with the OP playing during one of the baddest finishers I've seen
|
For a show that supposes to rely on past Riders returning, Zi-O has been pumping out decent Motw stories except for Another Build. I just wish the show will give the returning Riders more things to do, like a team up fight with Sougo and Geiz before their powers are erased

In the 6.5 Episode they went on to explain why the two were connected... and like the other 0.5 episodes they were pretty hilarious. For some reason they used a swear filter when referencing Bleach and any real names in the show... including the producer when the Faiz riders criticized the script.
6 episodes in and I don't think the show is anything too spectacular, it's OK at best and I did question the point of Sougo having to fight the Another Rider when Geiz would have stopped him... until I realised that he would have got the Fourze watch anyway so if Geiz got rid of the Faiz one first then Sougo wouldn't have to fight it. Right now, I think I like the 0.5 episodes more than the actual show... |
The .5 are just meta net movie episodes. It seems like a lot mainstream show want to be sarcastic and meta, but not cross the line too far with the adult jokes like YouTube. Fourze being in a big movie like deno while faiz didn't make it big was alluded. Yeah, the alumni didn't get the whole senpai respect and acknowledgement. It's like ichigo looking back at the embarrassing edit of old rider while new rider cgi doesn't impress him.

Honestly....I felt this was the strongest episode of the series so far.
I'm typically not all that invested in 2-parters and prefer a more serialized approach to Kamen Rider but the story for this was damn good IMO. I think a lot of the little continuity errors I had were mostly patched up. First off, the scene where the Another Rider chokes Kusaka HAS to be reference to how Kusaka died in 555, because the angle was almost dead on. I love how Takumi still can't handle hot food, and I love how they tied in Faiz's plot with Fourze by having the Another Rider constantly transfer schools, which is how they came across Tsukasa. I don't know if Kiva did something similar, but having Zi-O and Geiz fight the same monster at the same time, but in different years (if that makes any sense) is a really cool setup for double rider action (technically). I like that how Fourze's episode matched the tone of that series perfectly, while the story and tone here feels like it came straight out of an episode of Faiz. The only thing is that at first, I was thinking that Karin was an Orphnoch, who we know have short lifespans (outside of Takumi apparently, who, despite Faiz's ending, managed to survive for at least 12 years after that). I thought the Another Rider was trying to prolong her life because of that fact. After all, it would make sense because the Faiz gear was created for the Orphnochs by the Orphnochs, so it'd fit that an "evil (eviler?) version" of the gear was able to just straight up sacrifice human lives to strengthen Orphnochs and increase their lifespan. Still don't understand the need for specifically 18-year old libras but meh, I'm not gonna nitpick too hard. Overall, great episode. I want to see where things go from here. |

Wow, I actually wasn't aware of that funny video ._.
That was nonsensical and fun x) I kinda liked the emphasis on the Faiz part for this episode and I think they got the spirit of what was Faiz, it was almost like an episode of Faiz which is great. For the moment I won't judge the series I want to know where it is heading like this. One thing for sure, I love those .5 episodes, they are funny x) |
Catching up on Zi-O 5 and 6 right now. The Another-Fourze costume is amazing. When he opens his jaw the red lens flip up and then back down when the mouth is closed. What an incredible costume.
https://i.imgur.com/3dq9S7Q.png https://i.imgur.com/NUalziI.png So far I'm loving these 'Another-Rider' costumes. Monstrous and really cool. Plus it's really neat seeing new footage of past Riders and old characters returning for a couple episodes. I imagine this season might be confusing for people who haven't seen any of the Heisei Riders because they wont recognize them. Hopefully the story and characters are enough to keep new viewers interested though. They're sure putting a ton of money into costumes. ...damn that Fourze helmet is amazing. I couldn't believe it when the mouth opened and it 'blinked'. That's awesome. |
I'm honestly hooked on this series, as there is so much I can speculate about. Did we ever learn how Another Faiz became Another Fourze? Why is someone uninteresting as Shogo become a tyrant? How come Woz didn't interfere with Geiz using the Faiz Ridewatch? Why doesn't Decade's watch show up in the opening? So many things.
Here's a few things I'm guessing at this point. Woz joins the fray at first as an ally of Zi-O with obtaining the Ridewatches, but turns once Decade appears, who isn't supposed to appear when he did at a pivotal moment of Shogo becoming Oma Zio, granting him the midseason super form. Shwartz is trying to get the Ridewatches gathered for his own plan to become the king of time himself, using his fellow Time Jackers as pawns. Oma Zio's form is actually Zi-O and Another Zi-O combined through complete exposure to the Jiku Matrix. (It explains Oma Zi-O lacking the Ziku Driver) Other thoughts are probably Narutaki actually fearing Decade meeting Zi-O, which leads to the destruction of all riders, hence all his efforts to stop Decade. Schwartz is Oma Zio in disguise, using the Time Jackers to preserve his history. The blank Ridewatches will be integral to Heisei Generations Final's plot with them restoring those who already lost their powers. For Zi-O's mid season upgrade, he gains the ability to summon autonomous Rider Armors. The Faiz references are lost on me sadly as I've never seen it, but for this two parter, things are starting to be very interesting. I'm calling it now, whenever we have a Dual Another Rider Like Faiz/Fourze, Schwartz will be involved. The series has been a bit better than I expected based on the Writer's Sentai works, Goseiger and Ninninger, for those who forgot. While showing potential improvement, things still could go bad quick, but hey, a dull protagonist actually kind of fits this series based on his future self. How could he become so dangerous as Oma Zi-O? Sorry for all that, but felt like having to share that. Here's hoping to see the return of Mayonnaise in all his full glory next episode! |
