China Releases new Power Rangers Movie Posters!
5 Attachment(s)
So the Power Rangers movie will be releasing in China next week on May 12, and we got new Movie posters to go along with that.
Interestingly enough, instead of their zords these posters feature four legendary animals from Chinese mythology: Red and blue both have Dragons, Yellow-tiger, Pink-Phoenix, and Black-Tortoise. In addition, Chinese pop singer Dimash Kudaibergen performed a remix for the theme song which can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TmuI8Xqqv8 |
I really like those posters. XD
|
Considering the designs, honestly, the only one that doesn't really work is Blue's :lol
Tyranno is also a stretch, but eh. Also, I like the theme. Yeah's it's just a Chinese dude singing the English extended intro, but still, he does it well :lol |
Ok not bad with the song there. hmmm. The posters make me think of the Thunder Zords.
|
I dig it. I'd really like having those posters too, maybe all a single poster.
|
Black Turtlesnake Zord? Wow, that's exactly what the Movie Mastodon looks like. Bravo China
|
Actually Blue's animal looks more like a typical depiction of a Qilin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qilin
EDIT: For reference, here's an example of what I mean by typical depiction. http://img11.deviantart.net/2174/i/2...er-d3c43wr.jpg |
Considering this exist....i wonder why :p

Nice effort on Billy's part. Gathering the dragon balls and summoning Shenron would certainly be a way to deal with Rita.

lol
The zords are so damn ugly and convoluted looking China doesn't even know they are supposed to be dinosaurs. |
I approve of this theme.
Though that's mainly because they didn't make a new version for the American release. |

Obviously, they made these posters so that it would it appeal to people in China more. |
China seems a bit confused about what season of MMPR the new Power Rangers movie is based on :lol.

Okay I haven't seen the movie yet but how much LGBT is in it from Trini because that could become a problem in China.

I REALLY hope this does well in China. At this point it's our only real hope of ever getting a sequel in the works... |
Was dubbed confirmed somewhere? It might be subbed.

Then I sold it to a friend for one buck because of the shitty quality..... It's just like a regular cheap KO in hand. |

This promotion company has posted a lot of nonsenses on social network for weeks, they clearly know nothing about the content. I dunno, they might think these posters appeal to Chinese people, but no one really buy that. Maybe even a 90s' poster would'v draw more nostalgic attentions. |
Apparentely the movie bombed in China so badly the planned sequel is now canceled. That's bullshit that they were relying on China for an American property. It was the top grossing movie opening weekend here in the US and that is what matters most.

There seems enough of a demand for a sequel amongst the fans that I think one might get made anyway.
Maybe not in the same form as the last one, I mean they could always do it as a straight to DVD release or Netflix exclusive. |

There's way, way more competition these days. Movies have to make it big, or they don't make it at all. The gormless scads of average movie goers don't appreciate much beyond the big, dumb and blunt. And funnily enough, being big dumb and blunt isn't cheap. It's what the industry is these days, and plenty of movies manage to survive and thrive. Maybe, *garsp*, the movie just wasn't all that great and didn't click with the audiences it wanted to? |
So....there's no sequel anymore? What a disappointment.

There's a reason why we still talk about movies like Double Indemnity, Touch of Evil, The Maltese Falcon, Bride of Frankenstein, Alien, Aliens, Jaws, A Clockwork Orange, The Thing, etc, these days. If they focused on writing a good movie first, and then worried about the effects second, people would go see it. |
