I like that according to the content list the Taiyou and Wakusei face parts are indeed just face parts and not full new heads. Getting into parts-swapping on a smaller scale like that is probably a little more economical, so glad that Bandai is continuing on that trend. Shame they didn't start doing this stuff a year earlier, maybe they'd have found a way to give Poppy the red eyes or something. Or maybe Hazard Form with a couple swappable faces instead of only one full new head. There's so many possibilities once you start doing stuff like that, really.

Seeing OOO Figuarts renewal have removable body for form changes, this make me really want the other Figuarts like Ex-Aid, Build, Gaim and Ghost are have form change gimmick too....
Maybe Bandai will be make renewal version of Ex-Aid, Build, Gaim and Ghost in the future so that's figuarts will be have form change gimmick... |

- Ghost didn't get one because the toyline sold terribly. I believe Ghost to this day has only had 8 figures and it's the only show from recent memory that doesn't have a Figuarts of any of its main villains. - Ex-Aid had TONS of Riders and forms that probably took precedent over Muteki. The popularity of Dan Kuroto also probably pushed Emu's forms on the back burner. But we've seen recent Ex-Aid releases as of this year with still more on the way so I wouldn't worry about Ex-Aid just yet. In fact, I'd be willing to bet on Hyper Muteki making an appearance at the Tamashii Nations event next month. - Build is in the same predicament as Ex-Aid, just with less Riders and more forms. Build is still relatively fresh so the door isn't closed on the line yet. His penultimate form isn't even released yet so I'd give him more time. Really, I'd only put Ghost in the category of "Never gonna happen". Build and Ex-Aid were both popular seasons, so I can't imagine Bandai just calling it quits now. |

Something also interesting to note is that we also haven't had a movie-exclusive form since Drive, either. Though unlike the likes of Type: Special and Fusion States, the movie-exclusive stuff in Ghost and Ex-Aid were less climatic extra final forms and more just minor things even on par with early-season non-upgrade gimmick items. Hell, in their summer movies Mugen and Muteki were used to end the final battle.
Completely different story when it comes to Cross-Z Build and Ohma Form, though. |
