Kamen Rider Geats Episode 42- "Creation IV: Completion of the Goddess" Discussion
The power of Bujin Sword takes a toll on Keiwas' sanity.
|
So did we end up with a berserk form in Geats? It's a pity, I hoped that Keiwa would not be relieved of responsibility for his actions.
|
This episode seems to be pure setup, but I'm now worried regarding what can happen to the series after this. Maybe an episode I don't like so far.
The sword stab wasn't Tycoon Bujin's final attack, the beatdown continues for a while, though it only de-henshined Michinaga, and he's still alive because Keiwa purposely spares him so that he can live with the guilt of killing Sara. Guess now though Keiwa acknowledges that Michinaga has guilt, he'd want to make sure his targets suffer karma for that, including by his hands, but this also extends to those creating bad outcomes. Keiwa thinks those who created bad outcomes or consequences are also complicit, in the Goddess, any of them. I gotta acknowledge that, it's actually more common regarding those who can blame someone based on the outcomes they created, it's a widespread but mistaken belief to judge someone or an action as good/bad by the outcomes. Previously I stood up for him, that he may only blame Mitsume because of not knowing the full truth/context, but him still holding her accountable after Win explained things detailedly, yeah he really is blind, and his Bujin Sword cape being named "Delude Mantle". Of course I thought he gotta grow out of his accusing when shown a clear proof of Mitsume being victimized by Suel, given his empathy, but he is another a Rider that is made to go on a path of darkness (thus now getting his Aruto similarity, among Takahashi), and his judgmental nature to the Gods is the root of that path, he's doing the same thing the Vision Driver flashback shows in kidnapping Tsumuri and hoping for her to become statue. He has so much hatred to the Goddess, he lost sight that he also subjected and objectified an innocent, and feeling no guilt as in his eyes she deserves it for Goddess' actions. Other than Tsumuri, Keiwa seems to also try manipulating Neon when she visits him, by telling her that she can fulfill her promise to Sara if Keiwa can achieve his ideal world, likely expecting her to help Keiwa achieve it (joining Jit-too). Previously I thought Neon would be the one who would stick with the DGP for the longest, still thinking that her wish is unattainable and have to be won first before finally taking it down (while also trying to minimize the DGP casualties, civilians or Riders), but it was actually Keiwa, despite him being sick of the games in ep. 31, but is hellbent on fixing the DGP's mistakes that he ends up perpetuating it. Previously too Neon needs DGP like Keiwa, but here there's no tolerance from her to Keiwa's actions. Or maybe it's due to her not feeling really certain in her second wish, thus she lets go of it easier. I'd rather see their talk longer here tbh before Ace visits. More exposition of Daichi's work, said to both Michinaga and Keiwa, that he gains the memories of the people he consumed, including Sara, by eating the fruit coming from that tree. He's not letting his Jamato trip go waste and directly utilizes Jamato inheriting memories and personalities from human fertiliser to get their memories, while grading said people's lives like dismissing Sara and Keiwa's lives. I also think his cult thing seems a bit idiotic that people just came to him, with Daichi not making any effort to hide his true colors to them of him just infecting more people on spot to get their memories, but more people still come anyway, unless he successfully leave no witness. I wonder if the fame of either Ace or Neon can be used to counter this and let people know who's the real savior are. Premium Beroba and Kekera doesn't seem that powerful tbh, or at least that flashy in their debuts, including Buffa putting up some fight as Command Twin (yet goes down quicker than Zombie one), though it's more done to circumvent Buffa's Jamashin powers returning, that they'd bypass it due to not being Riders. Wonder if Buffa can still activate his Jamashin powers when Beroba and Kekera was going to become Riders again. When Michinaga lies on the ground, I hoped for Beroba (who's disappointed) to trample him, treating as if he doesn't exist, like Ora to Heure before. Here Michinaga claims that though he doesn't care about himself, which was true that he was reckless that led to his death and self-harming in Jamato Garden, other people are different matter. He still "cares" about them in statistics way though of only thinking the many leading for him to treat many people as expendable for his goal. Kekera views vengeance filled beatdown Keiwa gives as how a true Kamen Rider behaves, when it's not an actual heroic trait. Marrella Jamato goes down easier than I expected via Tycoon Bujin Sword's hand, their fight was rather one-sided to Tycoon other than Daichi dodging some of his slashes. Tycoon seems to have easier time to him compared to Geats IX (who has higher stats). Keiwa doesn't need to trick Daichi to take him down this time. Before that though, obviously filled with rage or whatever, Keiwa as normal human wouldn't do shit against Marrella Jamato, still knocked down and bleeding. After all of this Daichi still expects people to team up with him by claiming Kekera manipulated them both, he already made too much enemies for that. Geats' reaction to this is just polar opposite to Buffa beating down Chirami (who he helped kill), but here Geats stops Tycoon, claiming it's not like his usual self. Ace seems to be concerned of only having Keiwa stayed as a boy scout, but he still has limits on what tragedies he can take, and his opening line when he visits him is also expecting him to be like usual self. Dunno if this approach would be addressed for him to try understand him better (letting go of "just forget"), after Ace got misplaced trust in Keiwa before when he took Tsumuri. Tsumuri's change seems to be addressed in-universe now, that Samas narrated that Tsumuri gains more humanity and compassion over time when she watched over Riders, thus it explains how she's more defiant and active in voicing her disagreement and opposing the Game Master for the danger it puts to the people, and becoming less distant to people such as Ace (despite still being called his sister), also her sympathy to Keiwa, with her wanting to be useful regarding this unknowingly awakening her powers. Her transformation into statue is canceled due to her willpower, making it partially incomplete, giving her Woman of the Beginning looks/hair. Unfortunately, her powers and sympathy for Keiwa gives him the shortcut needed to achieve what he wants now, in his current unhinged state. For such a huge scale of Keiwa wish's consequence, dunno how it wouldn't be rushed, and I also worry what they're pulling with Kousei as Gya-Go to have him suddenly wanting to protect Neon after all his treatment. |
As much as I think Keiwa's whole "Mitsume should have atoned for her sins" thing is pretty forced, especially now that she's dead, I like the direction his character has been heading in since Sarah's death. Presumably she'll be coming back, along with their parents, so I'll be interested to see if the brooding personality persists, and where Keiwa goes from here.
Everything about the Black General form is great so far; I love the look of it, along with all the special moves, especially the one where he traces the moon with his sword. Seeing him go up against Daichi with it was satisfying, and I kind of wish Ace let him finish Daichi off. Daichi always struck me as the kind of guy who only thinks he's smarter than he is, despite the show passing him off as a genius. He's actually pretty naive, and watching him try to trick Keiwa while Keiwa's only goal was to kill him was great (I feel like that's how Kekera must have felt in that scene). This episode was definitely setting up big things for the last bit of the show, and I'm really interested to see where it goes now that everyone will be getting resurrected. |
Whilst this episode definitely is mostly setup for the final arc of the show, it was still a good episode in my humble opinion. Geats has recently been a show that has had me feeling pretty lukewarm at the beginning of the episode, but completely enthralled by the end. If the show manages to stick the landing, Gotchard will have some pretty big shoes to fill.
As a side note, I rather enjoyed the insert songs for Bujin Sword and Tsumuri in this episode. |
I feel sad for what's happened to the trio. Ace needs to beat sense into Keiwa in what he's been doing and let go of his grudge towards his mom.
Even if he has to kill one of his best friends. If he can't save Tycoon, Na-Go probably can to get Keiwa to wake up and that Kekera took advantage on his pain just for his pleasure and entertainment. |

But I think Ace just needs a live Daichi to get the said cure for second stage infected. And he did not say this directly, so that it could later be called a deception. Because, frankly, most of his tricks are very drawn.
