Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Episode 24- "With Hope In Hand, Go Together!" Discussion
The CR Team must pull triple-shifts when a group of musicians are simultaneously infected with the Bugstar Virus. Poppy gets to fill in for the singers while they recover!
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
There is no thing called Filler in Kamen Rider Ex aid huh?
|
Well, most episodes that started out happy and cheerful....actually had quite a bit of plot to add to the story. Like:
>Christmas Episode >Burgermon Episode >This Episode |
The new president has the narrator's voice when in evil mode. Make of that what you will.
Looks like he may be Tokimeki Crisis's Bugster, based on...well, everything. Anyway, this episode was something. |
Looks like this series is not going to end well
i mean not happy ending lol |
Why is "parfume" guy from Fairy Tail in my Kamen Rider?
...not that I'm complaining. |
Most of victm of the week problem in this episode is quite boring in my opinion...
Ren is really interesting character. I am agree with barnstenchfartface, maybe Ren is Tokimeki Crisis Bugster. Graphite is back. I think he saved by Pallad by absorb Graphite to Gashacon Bugvisor in episode 10 (offscreen) Next episode, it seems Kamen Rider Chronicle will be become mass produced Gashat and citizen will become Rider Troops. The bad thing is many people live will be killed if Game Over..... Maybe the Kamen Rider Chronos is survivor who win Kamen Rider Chronicle survival game..... |
The Bugsters are very fun to watch this episode
Poor Motorz, first his allies ran away and left him behind, then Ex-aid reprogrammed his Motor Viper and tossed him around like a ragdoll. |
Hmm This episode feel somewhat filler ish but not really...
Hey hiro finisher despite a Lv5 is cool one, hiro really creative with power item lately... didn't expect new president gonna be contribute to chronicle |

Dear lord the ending to this episode felt extremely "Oh shit"
The first half of the episode feels like a happy jokey romp, and then we get a fricking music video ! Smiles and cheer ! And then things just go....Really....Really dark... It actually felt truly scary when the shift happens, if this is a sign of what is going to happen during this arc, then we are off to a truly horribly time, in a good way. |
Since Graphite is back, does anyone think he will be Chronos?
|
Kamen Rider Chronicle: A game that turns real-life into Kamen Rider Ryuki.
|
I'm really hoping they go the full route with this whole civilians turning into Kamen Riders.
Like... I want to see past guest characters return, past Bugster Patients be forced to fight and die, that would hit in the feels so much. Emu being unable to save them despite having done so in the past. Heck you could definitely get some mileage out of this with even Taiga and Nico, the big bad sniper says he has nothing to lose but little does he realize he actually does. |
Hmm....since Bakusou Bike Gashat and Giri Gri Chambara Gashat still in CR, I am really want new user for Lazer especially for extra help when everyone in danger because dangerous game (Kamen Rider Chronicle)...but yeah it seems we just need new Gamer Driver because Kujo's Gamer Driver already used by Emu....
Maybe Hiiro's father or Nico will become good candidate for new Lazer user.... |
i doubt they have any spare drivers unless that new Genm Corp President can produce them again since it was Kuroto who made them. Only Kuroto's is left and Parad is probably gonna use it after Emu overpowers him in a fight. Lazer's role is done.
and thus we enter the next round. How will Parad manipulate people to become Rider Players i wonder... Kuroto may return as Chronos to screw with Parad. xD |
I'm really hoping Hiiro and Taiga will get their acts together quickly once KRC hits the market. Guess even after surviving the zombie apocalypse together they still have that lingering resentment. Refreshing, but still annoying.
Though hoooly hell were those last few bits with Poppy freaky. Like, shivers down my spine the whole time freaky. And yet it somehow is making me want the Buggle Driver II even more... Curse you cleverly written toy commercial!!! |
I don't really see the point in doing a crossover if its just a 1 minute cameo. This is also the first episode which felt a little bit fillerish but the new GENM corp CEO looks like an interesting character and he is pretty clearly a bugster. The next episode look very interesting .
|
Tonal Whiplash; it'll definitely be my take away for Ex-Aid but, I love it! What could have been a completely pointless filler episode got turned on it's head by the end and, yeah, that whole post-brainwash Poppy sequence was creepy / sad. Boy, she's godawful at lip-synching, though.
|
BRAVO EX-AID YOU HAVE MANAGED TO CREEPED THIS CREEPER OUT WHEN NO OTHER RIDER SERIES HAS BEFORE!!! BRAVO!!!
Seriously thought I would hate the CEO at first but damn he is some how enjoyable. Also how the hell was I creeped out from the scene with CEO and Poppy in the game? I mean that scene should not have been that creepy. |

Anyway, can't wait for subs on this one. Love that the bugsters have actually taken over as the villains themselves rather than being grunts though! |
This is one I had to watch twice, it was that good. The new CEO is so over the top, at first I thought "Oh crap, they're going for the over the top goofy representative is a total joke". But then he got creepy. Like wash your hands, burn your eyes with bleach, ew ew ew creepy. And that was the point I realized I was being trolled in a show by a guy that literally acts like a video game character.
That is some damn fine writing. We knew Poppy was going to have some part in all of this, after the confirmation earlier in the series that she is a bugster. But for her to be a character in Chronicle? That's a decent twist. Also, if she was planted there to work for the bugsters, does that make her a Poppy Seed? The use of powerups to enhance a Level 5 gashat just proves that Hiro is the real deal of being an intelligent surgeon. Also, without even having to give us a new suit, the writers managed to give all three doctors enough power to handle different level Bugsters. How about that crossover? You know, all two minutes of it. Which is about all I can stand of Lucky. Graphite's return, good. Graphite's return as a Chronicle character? Better. What I really hope is that this won't turn into an 'everyone returns from game over' type of thing. It would cheapen the whole storyline. That music video of Poppy's is an earworm. Seriously. Also waifu status achieved. |

So... my brother pointed something out to me in the next episode preview. You know the part where people are disappearing and it's playing the "Game Over" sound for Chronicle? If you look in the corner of the screen around there...
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/9kx9j9z71l3....44.2.png?dl=0 ...you can see a Gamer Driver and what looks like a pink Gashat. Now I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but... it's still kind of unnerving. |

I already have an idea for how the scenario is going to play out based on preview images. Emu's already probably seen one Game Over at this point. So he's reluctant to fight them and loses all of his stuff including his belt so the Ride Players begin taking his stuff.
In comes Para-DX because he has a hard on for Emu and probably won't let anyone else beat him. He utterly wrecks the Ride Players and they game over while they drop his stuff, giving us that scene from the preview. I'll laugh if I just predicted the episodes climax just like that. |

Even in a crossover episode, they just have to start setting up the new arc, and boy does it look like it is going to be crazy. The new president actually looks like he is going to be an enjoyable villain, and the whole dating sim brainwashing powers has a lot of potential to be used in really interesting ways, especially since the main cast probably won't figure out how evil he is for a while. I also just gotta love Emu's attempts to get Hiiro and Taiga to cooperate, the poor dear tries so hard! Also I love Hiiro's frequent tactical use of the powerups to make up for his lacking level. And yaaaay, Graphite is back! I am going to be freaking out about that next episode preview for a week now though...
|
Huh, so there goes my theory that Parad betrays Poppy and Graphite to shove them into KR Chronicle. Although I guess that does also explain why Motorz, Kaiden, and Gatton are back now after being absorbed by the Genm's Bugvisor.
Also, I'm really curious about Ren, he seems to be the Tokimeki Crisis bugster, but he already has a human form, which implies he's a "complete being" like Graphite. So is he possibly the bugster that killed detective Heiji (the guy from episode 21)'s son, or are there other victims of the Zero Day and even more bugsters hiding out as humans that we don't know about? |
So this was alright:
- Okay Emu, Motorz is getting away on his bike, this is the perfect to time to bust ou- *Emu runs after him on foot, untransformed* F***ING KIVA RODE A BIKE MORE THAN YOU! ARGHH!!! - The VotW stuff here seemed even more half-baked than usual for Ex-Aid. Points for having the whole "friends having a spat" thing to sort of vaguely parallel the Riders, so it wasn't exactly "pointless" per se, but Ex-Aid seems to really have trouble making the patients ever feel like more than just "there". - So since they didn't bother to contrive an excuse for Lucky's appearance the way Kyuranger did for Emu, I'm now going to forever joke about how Kyuranger is canon to the Ex-Aid universe. "Kamen Rider Chronicle? No time to deal with that guys, you need to do something about the evil alien shogunate that's conquered the planet! How come we never see them, anyway?" :p - Speaking of continuity, I did appreciate that Emu remembers Lucky from his Kyuranger guest spot (since Sentai airs first), though Excite! Subs didn't seem to get the memo. - I also like how Emu runs his mouth off about what great dependable pals he has before being reminded who he's talking about. Even with Genm gone the guy still can't catch a break. The worst part is he's not even really wrong. Hiiro and Taiga are pretty much all talk at this point, but man, can those guys ever talk. - Oh noes, Poppy's been turned to the dark side! Now Emu's circle of genuinely friendly friends has gone from one whole person to zero! Unless we want to count Hiiro's dad? I feel like he's barely been in the show lately though. - Also Parad is great. He acts like everything is always going according to his plan, and unlike Dan can actually back it up. The way he's acted the entire show makes it clear he genuinely has just been patiently waiting for this opportunity to come up. |
It is pretty funny how quickly Hiiro and Taiga were to remind him just who he's dealing with.
Emu: "I'm so happy to have friends like you guys <3" Taiga: "LOL what? Shut up and give me your gashats." Hiiro: "How are we even remotely friends, intern?" It's almost like the show itself was trying to remind us that this isn't Super Sentai. The heroes are a barely functional team that argue and bicker with each other 24/7 because Heisei Era Kamen Rider. |

Think about it; A start up band who had recently auditioned for Genm Corp., which is now secretly being run by a bugster, all mysteriously develop game disease at the same time. An accident happens, causing one of the members to be hospitalized, and brings them all to the one place where they're guaranteed to run into one of the Riders during a time when their stress would be the highest. Then, when the one band member is safely in the CR, the CEO shows up and "unintentionally" makes her symptoms flare up, leaving him and Poppy alone in the facility while everyone else is handling the bugsters. |
^ Ren even said at the end that "this is all just a ploy to brainwash Poppi into our ranks"

BOOM... That's how it go. |
This felt a little sillier than usual, but it was still a good episode. Poppy's song should have been really dumb and annoying, but the nature of why she was doing it made the whole scene actively unsettling - good work, Ex-Aid.
I really liked the bit where Emu was convinced that everyone was part of a happy team now, only to be immediately reminded that Taiga and Hiiro are both total assholes. :lol I generally quite liked this episode, but I'm deducting two points from my vote - one for each "YOSHA LUCKY!!!" |
Just saw this one, it was alright, definitely a set up for next episode, which I'll be watching right after this post. Ren was definitely the highlight of this one, hoo boy what a creep.
I feel like the whole crossover aspect could have been used better with the theme of this episode. The episode was all about being friends with your allies, isn't sentai a perfect way to learn that? I mean, Lucky kinda mentioned it, but I think that could have played in more, like if Emu got to watch the whole group of Kyurangers in action (I say all this having not watched any Kyuranger, though). I also think it would've been nice if Emu had mentioned Poppy/Asuna as one of his allies as well. Not only would it have played well into her brainwashing, but also into his growth as a doctor, which was another theme in this one as well- she is his nurse, after all. |
