LOLING @ “Taima TV”
Absolutely a dead site |
at this point I'm like "just end this show already" mode like I know I said this last week but I've NEVER Seen a show more disiniterested in it's villain(Giff) than this show like it genuinely feels like the cast at this point is like "uhhhhh wasn't last episode supposed to be the final episode?")

Is George the new Lelouch from the anime hero turn villain turn redemption/sacrifice? Never a fan of his character. It’s like demons. There was way more potential to be unlock with the deadman trio instead we went through bad slowly escalating arcs again with the formula being final villain is also a rider. Kind of feel bad for overdemon guy getting all these hate because he doesn’t look the part more than he’s underdeveloped in the story. When julio transform, the fandom cheers, but he rarely contribute much after his storyline with his friend. He spend most of his time serving aguilera like her personal butler. Don’t know if we’re watching the same show. Binge the last twenty episodes after taking a break and it gotten worse. It seems the fans really overhype this series because of the anniversary and perhaps likable family leading characters.

Super boring episode.
George's motivation is really strange and forced.... |
This feels like the last Kamen Rider Gaim episode where they randomly introduced another evil Rider. Except we have 3 more episodes left :lol
And yeah, George is super awful and weird as the "final" boss. Really dumb choice. I'm gonna say one thing though - the Ikki memory loss thing being developed further is rather nice. Like, the scene where he forgets his parents is really good drama. That hit like a truck. If I had to guess the point they want to make is Ikki being ready to protect his family even when he will forget about them, when George cannot forget about the family he already lost even though he wants to. |
There's some good ideas and callbacks to earlier parts of the show here, but I honestly just don't even know what this show is or was trying to accomplish anymore.
|
I wish the memory loss was a more important plot point. It always came up sporadically, and never factored into the plot until now (The only time it mattered story wise was the soccer episode). Him forgetting his parents was a strong scene, but I wish it was more important to the series as a whole.
George is the new baddie, and he's likely under the control of his father's demon or something? I dunno. He's exclusively targeting the drivers his father made? Eh. |

Again with a Rider final boss after not giving Akaishi and Giff one. And turns out George's path here is completely new, separate from both his early portrayal and post ep. 25 one.
It's already teased before ofc, but so turns out that George does end up as the final threat if the series, which was a speculation during his early portrayal due to his really shady nature. If it turned this way, I do think that it'd be better to keep George shady throughout the series, and probably had him be the character that aids both sides like DJ Sagara or Evolt for his own ends (if it's still ultimate Kamen Rider and still Juuga), without him being temporarily turning into a better person (still not getting an info about Chic here). Even if it'd be sort of 'predictable' that George would be a final boss (and had a big bad potential before), but at least George had a fitting portrayal of being shady if it leads into this direction. Albeit probably George wouldn't have good intentions if it's the case (he feels creepy here, but doesn't feel malicious as he aims for world peace in extreme way), but perhaps his vision would be better than a sudden conflict to wrap up the series (of which Giff wasn't taken down in the last episodes). Now George takes the anti-villainous path of accusing the demons as the root of the world's problems, thus trying to get rid all traces of Giff and demons. I do think that superpowers in real world can cause more trouble, and that he's basically removing any superpower/supernatural (other than himself as Juuga, purely human work) aspects in the world, but yeah, despite the dangers superpowers can create, eradicating anyone/anything with a trace of that supernatural aspect is extreme and bigoted in a world with superpowers. Though, there are still bits of George's older character here, where before George can frequently act like a manchild especially in his shady portrayal, such as pettily pouting against Vice's criticism to his Jackal design despite the impending danger. And his manchild traits are something that drags on the conflict here, like how he rejects solutions like Daiji handing him the other Rider's Drivers or burying the demon's works, he simply says it's pointless if he can't beat up the demons (e.g. Igarashis). It's similar to a child making unreasonable demands out of pettiness and a lack of restraint, with how he's sidetracked by the need to spite the demons and proving his creation, putting it ahead of the 'greater good'. Bon being the one who is brought back in this episode is either intentional or had many coincidences. For a handful of villains with noble intentions lately (Akaishi, Daiji w/o Kagerou, George), he's the first one in this series, but of course he's reformed now. And Bon was also previously a dark take of Kuuga, who wants to make people smile but takes the approach too far like entertaining his livestream viewers by unleashing the Lion Deadman to the public to attack figures he thinks deserving. After reformed, perhaps Bon would take similar path to Yusuke, with him being surrounded by kids here and later trying to entertain the kids by doing something funny, like Yusuke performing tricks at them. And now, there's George who becomes Juuga, another dark take of Kuuga (particularly Ultimate form). Juuga's name is also a portmanteau of "juu" (十, means 10) and "Kuuga", a reference to him using the power of 10 ViStamps, and Kuuga being the 10th installment of the Kamen Rider franchise. Even George's actor Noritaka Hamao was born on November 26, 1999, a couple of months shy of Kuuga's premiere too. Juu can also mean "beast" (獣) in Japanese, and Juuga has the power of 10 beasts. Another trivia is, "kuu" part of Kuuga's name is pronounced the same way as 9 in Japanese (九), Juuga replacing "kuu" with "juu" also had hidden meaning that he's meant to be a Rider that surpasses even Kuuga. Outside of the Kuuga references, Kuuga fought for everyone's smiles, Juuga only fights for his own, which also makes Juuga resemble Another Kuuga, its evil version (Juuga also lacks the red eyes Kuuga Ultimate had, which'd also resemble black-eyed, corrupted version of it). Juu can mean "filled" (充), making Juuga's name mean "filled-self" (充我) in contrast to Kuuga meaning "clear-self" (空我). Perhaps the more conflict was meant to wrap up Ikki and his memory problem, overall Igarashi happiness, by giving him stakes to henshin and protect his family, losing more of his memories, or letting his other family members get beaten up. Other methods had been tried, but even with Vice transforming alone, it didn't stop the memory loss, and George rejected Daiji's solution. Despite how the series was a mess at handling people's plots, I do was pleasantly surprised by Ikki forgetting even his parents, mistaking them as customers. Which'd be normally a really insolent move, but it's outwardly-influenced for Ikki, which is a turning point that Ikki's memory loss isn't meant to be taken lightly, despite that before the family vows to create a new happy memory with Ikki. For now, Ikki still doesn't forget Daiji and Sakura, but probably if he henshins next he can forget about them too, and likely lose his drive for fighting, as he'd forget the stakes Juuga gave to the Igarashis. It's the bare minimum of what they should do with the MC, not making his presence small like Revice juggling many arcs at once before, but then again, there can be another way Ikki's stakes can be established other than creating a new, sudden conflict (and another one of new, likely half-assed arc of someone), like someone else that is already established stirring up conflict, or doing this before Akaishi or Giff is defeated instead of focusing on multiple other arcs (use Daiji and Sakura in their weaker Rider form for this stake). There's also, only 4 episodes to properly establish the very MC's arc, being finally known what's the problem of Ikki forgetting his memories (forgetting his parents here). Revice being a wasted potential had double meaning, in the series after strong start, and the titular Revice IMO, in Ikki, as his potential for both family happiness here or solving Rider sensibility problem of turning people busybodies, something not addressed often. Looked. Did not like. For the sake of justice, I will note the pros:
- the scene where Ikki forgot his parents; - Juuga design; - The staging of the fights and the episode as a whole. The most annoying thing is that George can literally be replaced by anyone else: papa, Hiromi, Daiji (although then the poor fellow would definitely have won the title of the most hated character on the show) and the reaction would be the same: "What the hell?". The best choice, in my opinion, would be Olteca, for after being released from the bubble, he looked like a loser, but not defeated. Also the line "George the villain" seems to be cut out from somewhere in the middle of the show, greatly shortened and inserted into the ending. Yes, even his abilities speak of this, for when was the last time 10 genomes were mentioned? So I would venture to guess that in the original script, Juuga should have appeared somewhere around the time of Jack Revice. And by the way, I'm not at all sure that he is the final boss. Considering how actively Revice gives birth to riders on the eve of the final, three episodes will be enough for someone else to appear. I wouldn’t even be surprised if mom becomes Ryder a minute before the show ends (at the same time, a good reference to Agito will work). Do you remember how a year ago Saber was scolded for not very deep characters of the riders? Now we understand that it was not worth it, because you can do much worse. |
Also, what Revice definitely managed to prove is that if there are a lot of riders in the show, it's better to introduce them at the beginning, not at the end. Good thing Geats seems to have taken that into account.

There are two main things I disliked about this episode.
As this show is called Kamen Rider Revice, I was hoping to get some focus for our protagonists. Unfortunately, their focus now is entirely entangled in the memory loss contract, which I think is the most contrived plot device in the show. Vice mentioned that their contract can't be renegotiated, but like, why? Why are we just supposed to accept that? Kagerou's saying that Ikki knew the risks, but like, he was a kid who was about to die in a burning building. Pretty sure that's coerced consent. The whole contract is dumb and if that's the stake of the final arc, then I have pretty much no investment. George as the potential final villain.... I don't understand his motivation at all. Even if the movie clears that up, like, it's still something that should've been in the show. Sure, he's more enjoyable than Akaishi and Gif, but where those dudes were a threat to humanity, George is mostly a threat to the Igarashis. And he won't even explain why. The scope of that is way too small for what's supposed to be a final arc and I feel like this is something more appropriate for a dramatic V-Cinema epilogue. Quote:

I feel like this should have happened way earlier than now.
I think I'll consider that in my headcanon that the series ends at Episode 46 if they don't find a way to clear that "memory loss" issue. I hated it when it was first introduced, still hate it. It's painful to watch and I struggle to be invested in this. I love Juuga as a Rider though. As for George going batshit crazy, it has the merit to be entertaining. That movie some of you are talking about is supposed to place at which point? Between Episode 46 and 47? To be totally honest, I disliked that there were some interesting stuff for the series...outside of said series... |
