The most expensive sentai mecha
Which sentai mecha do you think is the most expensive and hardest to find? I am trying to track down a good, boxed condition Great Five but still no luck at all!!! How about the vehicles/carriers base from the 80s? Which one is the hardest to find?

It varies greatly. Usually the older you go, the more your wallet cries. It also depends on where you look and your spending limit.
For me personally, I stick to eBay and aim for the cheapest complete and domestic listing since importing scares me. Yes it's holding back what I can get but I don't think it'll be changing anytime soon, so it tends to be a tie between BakurenOh and Geki Wolf. Welcome to Tokunation!:D |
Yeah, I use eBay as I don't quite grasp this world of yen and EMS.

I got my Ninja Megazord/Falconzord for $74.92 on Ebay. So I say stick with Ebay.

Most expensive? Well, that's hard to say. For example, I could say Flash King, but someone could go "Nuh uh! It's cheap!" and link me to an incredibly cheap Flash King off Mandarake or something.
Fluctuating prices is the name of the game when it comes to the secondary market. Quote:

Ebay seems to have a more reasonable price especially on mecha in the godaikin form. But the post changeman mechas are really, really hard to come by. However, over the last few months I have missed out on great condition, boxed Live Robo twice on ebay!!! They both went for around 500 bucks, and both are from the us seller!!! I would be more than happy to pay 500 bucks for it oh man... |

The Jet Man mecha aren't the worst*, but before that... whoo boy. $300 would be cheap. I dream of getting Bio Robo (thankfully it got a Godaikin release that goes for a few hundred cheaper), Change Robo, and Flash King. But I've seen the latter 2 go for $500+ on Yahoo Auctions Japan. These days I casually look for options, and then just watch how much they go for.
You know you're in deep crap when you want a truly collectible item. On that isn't just unreasonably marked up on eBay, but that actually sells for several hundred on even the Japanese market. Transformers G1 Overlord & Star Saber are like that, too. *I still feel lucky with what I paid for my Jet Icarus & Jet Garuda. I paid out the butt for middle-man fees, but still got both for under $200 each because I was willing to buy ones with a couple of curling decals and no instructions. I even got the boxes for them! |
