S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva-La Gallery
40 Attachment(s)
I, will stop you Tsukasa!
At long last after 5 years of waiting, the Kamen Rider W X Decade Movie Wars exclusive rider S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva-La has been released! And today she joins us as a featured gallery! Kiva-La is of course the Kamen Rider Decade series' female supporting character Natsumi who finally made her debut as a dynamic and powerful rider. Though the Movie Wars film showcases the only use of her powers Kiva-La was a force to be reckoned with. Strong enough to kill Decade and fight the final battles against the likes of the Crisis Fortress, Neo Life Form, Doras and more! Kiva-La has earned her place in rider history and hopefully a spot in your collection. Read on! Packaging Not much new to report right now for boxes. This one has the same semi-standard type of box that Kamen Rider Drive releases have featured for the last year. Just a normal slim style box decked out with Kiva-La images. Main Figure An odd one for sure, Kiva-La is a rider who only appeared in a team-up movie between Kamen Riders W & Decade, but is based in Kamen Rider Kiva's World. So she has a pretty unique place in rider lore. In much the same way her figuart is also quite unique. Kiva-La as I said is unique and a bit of a refresher. I should start by saying she's drop dead gorgeous. I always loved this design and it kind of nags at me each time Decade reappears in some team up but Kiva-La doesn't. The gorgeous pearl white they've gone with for her base shines beautifully under the right lighting. But the paint in general is top notch. This figure has a ton of paint applications that really just pop. The nice rich purples used offset that white fantastically. Though her belt is rather sloppily painted it's such a small scale piece I can understand. The details on the tiny Kiva-La bat really are quite decent at this scale. Now as good as Kiva-La does look, and it's VERY good, she functions rather poorly. First up her feet are almost vestigial. Because of their very narrow/short design they don't make a ton of surface contact with whatever she stands on. Being a rather lite weight figure with a high center of gravity on top of this means you'll run into trouble balancing her. Or at least I did. Surprisingly despite the various protrusions around the waist and torso the upper body moves just great. But the arms themselves are limited a bit by cumbersome shoulder pads that like to pop off their ball joints continually. The headsculpt however is beautiful. Just excellent. They really really nailed this one right down to those deep blood red compound eyes. We don't see female riders terribly often but they seem to improve with each release as far as physical proportions and articulation are concerned. Kiva-La is no different for the most part, though I have heard QC horror stories about her breaking rather easily. The only real issue I have to report is the black paint stripes that run down her thighs will flake rather easily when they impact the hips/waist. But as far as the figures design is concerned it's mostly top notch with some minor issues that can be easily rectified by a tamashii stage. In any case she looks fantastic with her series co-stars Decade, Diend, & Kuuga and even look great with other Kiva figuarts! Accessories Unsurprisingly Kamen Rider Kiva-La is a bit lite on accessories: 6 - additional hands. Mostly for posing, some nice open palm sculpts we don't see too much. Since this is a female rider it forces bandai to change up the sculpt a bit more than the generic hands we've seen the last couple years. 1 - Kiva-La Saber. A gorgeous to scale version of the real deal. It's a really interesting looking sculpt, it almost suggests it could belong to a kaijin rather than a hero. But it looks great and fits just a bout perfectly in her hands. Just a little bit loosely. That's not much for Kiva-La to come with but it's not as though she could have come with much else either. Aside from maybe a Decadriver with a hole through the middle of it :lol Or perhaps the pair of energy wings used for her Sonic Stab would have been nice. Final Thoughts Ultimately S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva-La will fit in with most any figuarts display you choose. As only the 5th Kamen Rider Kiva related figuart ever released, and one released many years apart from the other 4, she actually fits in rather well with them. Now of course those characters are actually from that world, where Kiva-La is really from Decades' mess of continuity. But she looks right at home with figuarts like Kiva Emperor or Rising Ixa. All in all this isn't too shabby of a release. Some minor gripes aside Kiva-La looks great and is totally worth having in your collection. |
Dark Kiva comes with a Jacoder? Did not know that, makes sense though, kinda.
Damn Kiva-la looks BEAUTIFUL. |
Everytime I see this figure it's a nice little reminder that I need to finish decade. XD
|
Very job on the photos as always. Kiva-La is a very nice looking figure and I do plan on getting her for Christmas. It would have been cool if you had a photo of Nadeshiko and Marika with Kiva-La and the other two female riders.

Now this is a figure I need to own, and I don't say that about a lot of figures. I always loved the Kivala design and she's probably my favorite Female Rider in terms of design. It's just such a damn shame that she's only ever had one proper appearance.
|
Although I find the whole metal bra and ultimate cleavage look a bit over the top, I really like Kiva-la's design. Everything really seems to work, though some of it appears to understandably cause some trouble for the figure. But yeah, she's cool. I love her colors.
|
And still, no sign of the SHF Saga from many years ago...
Regardless, she is beautiful. |
Kiva-La!!! *swoons at the sight of the one of the most magnificent female Rider designs* I've always loved her design. I think it's looks so smooth.
|
Den-O is right about how beautiful this sculpt and how it should had included a Decadriver with a hole in the middle of it so we can always recreate the scene where Decade got stabbed in the gut.
To whomever wins this congratulations in advance! |
I always thought it was a shame she stayed exclusive to one movie. Maybe if Decade had a standard length series she would've shown up somewhere there, but there's really no excuse for not using this gorgeous suit in some kind of movie war or taisen.
|
Not the biggest fan of the Kiva-La design to be perfectly. But it does look like a pretty good Figuart.
|
I always liked Kiva-Las design. I think this figuart conveys what I liked about her perfectly.
|
She does look pretty damn cool. Plus, she put an end to Decade, so points all around there :)
Now let's see how long it takes for someone to say 'anything before Kiva' |
My only gripe concerning the figure itself is the odd disconnect between the torso and the hips. It's partially the belt's fault for obscuring the curve, but otherwise, it's fine.
I'm not the biggest fan of Kivala (Shocking, I know), but she does have my respect for stabbing Decade, something I've been wanting to do for ages, so good on ya, girl~ |
Wasn't exactly useful in Decade, but still a good design.
|
Alas, I'm one of the QC horror stories, and one of her sword hands had all the fingers snap off when I tried to get her to hold it. Actually, I've been meaning to superglue the fingers back; I should go ahead and do that.
She is a seriously great-looking figure. Those hips, though... who at Bandai do I have to bribe so we never see non-ball-jointed hips again? (Okay, yes, the line of her pants would've been ruined, but I could've lived with that.) I'll always wonder whether there'd been more planned for Kamen Rider Kiva-la. They introduced Kiva-la (the bat) to the cast very early on, and it's odd that she didn't get to pay off as a henshin device until thirty-something episodes and some movies later. |
Looks so cool wish I had it
|
I dunno about this one, the paint around the belt and hands seems kind of spotty compared to other recent figures. but it May be because the drive line uses less tiny bats and more tampographs and sharp lines.
|
This figure looks incredible and I've thought that since it was announced. Though I will agree on the fact that the hips probably could have been handled better as its a tad bit destracting but over all I love both the suit design and the character itself.
|
Kiva-la♡
|
Even with the structural issues, I give it credit for being a near perfect sculpt for the character.
It's not something I'd get, but I'm sure people who want a Kivala on display will have nothing but praise for it. |
I just finished watching through Decade, so this is super timely. Bandai must have been keeping track of my viewing schedule.
It's disappointing to hear about the downsides, but I can't argue that it's a fantastic looking figure. I have to agree that a battle damaged Decadriver would have been a fantastic inclusion. Quote:

Kiva(la) figuarts. Or is it kivara? I always thought Kivara sounded more evil. Neat figure nonetheless. Onore Decado!
|
Its a shame Kiva-la isn't used that often anymore. Kiva-la proved that Natsumi wasn't a useless damsel in distress and that she falls into the category of other Kamen Rider females that she can take care of herself. Besides, Kiva-la is one of the few female riders in the series.
|
Definitely a figure and design I can appreciate from an aesthetics point of view. Unfortunate that her execution is so flawed, considering the other two female Riders I have (Marika and Femme) are both so superbly done.
|
This is a really beautiful figure, and very much on my wishlist.
|
Kiva-la has always been my favourite female Rider, her design is just stunning
I own this SHF and its an absolutely gorgeous figure |
Absolutely gorgeous looking. The Bandai Silver, the pearlescent, it all looks so great. Shame about balancing and hindrance issues, though I suppose that's more to blame on being accurate to the source material's design.
|
It is a very nice looking figure, although I don't really buy SH figurarts from my understanding they been accessory lite for a bit now.
|
Considering how good-looking this figure is, it's a pity that there are some issues with its functionality. Also, I wonder why they haven't yet released a Figuarts of the basic Kiva form.

Kiva-la (insert your own "x got a Figuart before Kiva" joke here) looks amazing! Perfect even! Just a shame, like you said, that she didn't come with more accessories. An effect part, a tiny Kivala bat (even if it didn't make sense) just something a little extra would have sold her to me.
A nice addition to the female Riders force though! |
Gorgeous figure. Really want to get her for Xmas. Bummed about no mini kivala.
|
Awesome Figure! I Love anything Kamen Rider.
|
Is it just me or has the quality of these rider figuarts gone down? I haven't purchased a figuarts in a while (ever since they come in these smaller packaging). As much as I like the design of Kiva-la, the paint just seems a little sloppy compared to say Kiva Emperor.
Are there any mentions of a Kiva figuarts in the works yet? |
Rider Figuarts never cease to amaze me with the amount of detail that goes into each one. I'd be a much bigger fan of the series of the episodes were easier to track down...seems like I can only ever find the raw Japanese.
|
I have little interest in Kiva-La as a character, but this figure is gorgeous! I'll join the chorus asking when a base form Kiva will be released.
|
Her alongside Femme looks great, they compliment each other well.
Also really dig the new packaging for her too. |
Almost every female figure i have has heals or little feet making them prone to tumble. Bet she looks great next to kiva though.
