I managed to finish Star Wars: Death Troopers today and it is a nice little stand-alone SW novel that just happens to involve zombies.
|
I just started reading The Hellbound Heart today. It's a horror novella that ultimately formed the basis for the first Hellraiser movie and the its franchise overall.
|
I finally finished reading Star Wars: Outbound Flight today. Now, I'm trying to decide which original EU SW novel I should read next. The choices are Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, Kenobi, or Han Solo Trilogy: The Paradise Snare.
|
Finished reading Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader sometime ago and it is, at this point and time, my third favorite James Luceno-penned SW novel of the original EU behind Labyrinth of Evil and Darth Plagueis. I'm currently reading Star Wars: Kenobi now and it is pretty good so far.

Finished Star Wars: Kenobi just yesterday and I really loved it. It's now among my top favorite EU SW novels alongside The Thrawn Trilogy, Darth Plagueis, Revenge of the Sith film novelization, Labyrinth of Evil, Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor, Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader and a few others. I am planning to read the first book of the Han Solo Trilogy next called The Paradise Snare.

I finished reading Star Wars: Jedi Quest books 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. As of now, I'm taking a little break from this particular SW book series for now and start on Star Wars Epic Collection: The Original Marvel Years Volume 1 and once all of the current (so far) released volumes of Marvel's original run of SW comics are done, I'm heading back to the Jedi Quest series to finish them up and then re-read Star Wars: Legacy of the Jedi and Star Wars: Secrets of the Jedi and then start on the third and final book of the Coruscant Nights trilogy which in turn also reminds me to read the MedStar duology at some point as well as reading the young Boba Fett series, The Last of the Jedi series, and even The Last Jedi novel that serves as a followup to the events of the Coruscant Nights trilogy. Also, I'm considering to start reading The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice or even Dune by Frank Herbert sometime afterwards.

Curious what you'll think of those original Marvel comics. They are, like, not quite Star Wars. It was a very loose era of licensed comics, and some of the people working on those books were not super clear on what Star Wars was doing. The newer Marvel stuff is aces, though. Jason Aaron nails the voices of the characters (his Threepio is spot-on), and Kieron Gillen does a great job bringing a darker, grittier edge to the classic heroes. Hope you dig 'em! |

I'm finishing up on Star Wars: Coruscant Nights III: Patterns of Force. After that, I'm honestly taking a bit of a break from Star Wars novel reading for awhile and start reading Dune by Frank Herbert and possibly Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice as well.
