SuperHuman Samurai Syber Squad: DX Servo Gallery
20 Attachment(s)
Let's Samurize, Guys!
Tokunation is proud to bring you a gallery featuring the hero of SuperHuman Samurai Syber Squad (SSSS), Servo! SSSS was an adaptation of Tsuburaya's Denkou Choujin Gridman and it ran for one season from 1994 to 1995, with a total of 53 episodes. SSSS followed the exploits of teenager Sam Collins and his friends/bandmates as they deal with problems in both the real and digital worlds. Sam is bonded with a computer program named Servo and as him fights megavirus monsters created by the evil Overload Overlord, Kilokhan. Playmates Toys handled the SSSS toy line and released a variety of characters at different sizes. The deluxe Servo figure stands at approximately 9 inches tall and has 19 points of articulation. All electronics from the original Japanese figure were removed for the American release. Servo comes with several accessories, including a removable Digital Communicator, Micro-Menacing Sabre, Megavirus Monster Deflector Shield, Synch-Sword, and a Synch Short Blade. Check out the 20 image gallery, samurized for your protection, after the jump! Want TokuNation.com updates on the go? "Like" us on Facebook and follow us @tokunation on Twitter!! |
Aw, man. I remember having this guy and Zenon.
I gotta get 'em back... |
Nice! Always loved Gridmans' design. Never realized the US release had been altered like that though.
|
wait the US version has no electronics? wow never wouldve guessed that
|
Wish I had new stickers to my old combining version with the dragon gun. It's tempting to get those new versions of the figures.
|
This gallery pisses me off solely because I used to have this and it was sold at a Yard Sale. I may go Home tomorrow and smack my momma. (not really, but damn)
|
Man, I only had the small Synchro set and a tiny 2-inch Servo figure. I really wanted the deluxe figures (Especially the dragon!). These guys are probably an arm and a leg on Ebay and Amazon I'm guessing.

I may have to go back and snag all 3 sets. I originally only had the smaller sets but this large one may be necessary.

I know this figure was repainted a lot as different powered up forms and different Samuraized characters from the show. Anyone know if Gridman had similar releases or if that was just US milking of the mold? |
Only US. Also I think the smaller combining stuff was US only as well (not the kabaya kits)? Cant find any info of a japanese release.
|
the articulation on that figure were awesome, you can do anything that was used in the show without taking off the hands which i hate about figuarts.

Interesting to know that these were originally designed by Takara in Japan. I never really thought Takara would make Tokusatsu toys but I have to say, for their time, they did a damn good job.
I thought SSS was corny but I LOVED the designs and regret passing on the toys. I also have a feeling that the Japanese version(Gridman) was a lot better and not as corny. |

So the smaller 'Samurized' Synchro & Phormo sets, is anyone interested in seeing a gallery of those or should I just skip to the Dx Zenon and Drago figures?
|
I still got my Servo. Needs some touch ups, stickers, and missing accessories. Still love the figure though.
