Sarah Brown, Kaitlin of V. R. Troopers, claims Shuki Levy assaulted her!
This news broke yesterday in the "Power Rangers General Questions" forum (refer there for earlier comments), but hasn't been circulating much beyond that. I intend no offense by making a separate thread on the issue.
Sarah Brown, who played Kaitlin on V. R. Troopers and Heather on Zeo ("There's No Business Like Snow Business", Part I-III), is now saying that Levy assaulted her and that Saban was complicit. She prefaces the charge with "#BoycottPowerRangers". Her Twitter page already has fans rushing to her support. I have seen very little on this matter, and to my knowledge, neither former Ranger actors nor Hasbro have released a statement, though this would be somewhat understandable if some have simply not been made aware of it! I am also disturbed that this happened during the week of NYCC 2019, but that cannot be helped. I truly hope the franchise can survive this as I will always have a place in my heart for Power Rangers, but this is unacceptable behavior on the part of Levy and Saban! https://twitter.com/sarahjoybrown |
There's no need to boycott, Hasbro could cut off ties with Saban in the show.

Also, with the fact that this is merely an accusation not a conviction, and that the statutes of limitations are a thing, it probably should amount in very little actually happening. |

We saw some of this when Medina was charged with murder: people had a hard time looking at Wild Force the same way again...if at all! In today's world, the mere accusation is enough to sway minds. If the story is accurate, then Sarah Brown needs our sympathy and understanding, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm in a mental funk over the idea that this story will convince people to "cancel" this franchise! The lack of franchise/owner/fandom responses doesn't help; the only way for us and the Rangerverse to continue the right way is to be honest if any misdeeds were committed! |

Besides, as the saying goes, innocent until proven guilty. If it actually happened, why didn't she go to the police or staff instead of just writing it on Twitter. Like you said, this stuff is going around a lot lately, so you need to be careful what's true and what's not. |

You have no idea how absolutely insignificant something like this is in the grand scheme of multimedia. |

That said, let's assume for the moment that she's being honest and say Levy, Saban, and Cheryl Saban are (hypothetically) in the wrong! What would happen to the respect Rangerverse fans have regarding the OG Saban Era? |

where a lot of woman are throwing around accusations on social media a lot, people are beginning to be more suspicious to see if it's true or not. There's a saying that goes "Separate the art from the artist". Even if the crew we're scummy, it's not going to stop people from enjoying the things people look back on. I really think you're making a mountain out of a molehill over this. |

No if we were talking about him as Decker from Samurai then this helps Decker a lot if you think of the sword he carries around is the one he did the murder with. |
I hate Saban to death, and it seems that his cohorts are just as scummy, but I have to use the 'innocent until proven guilty' point here. I don't want to get political but we can only hope the truth comes out; whether that means Levy is wrong, or Sarah Brown is wrong, that depends.

Ugh. Stop posting. |
so like 24 years later she says she was assaulted?

And don't forget he threatened to sue Chroma Squad and even Final Fantasy XV for Power Rangers elements, even though he doesn't own tokusatsu/henshin heroes and those two games are paying homage. He basically wants them to pay him so they can do homage. That is a new kind of greedy. And that's not including his political stuff. Yeah we have him to thank for Power Rangers existing and to an extent, the reason to why we love Toku, but I want him to stay away fron the franchise as far as possible. But if you ask me why I hate him when this thread is about Shuki Levy, well Sarah Brown basically blamed him for turning a blind eye. Now obviously, we don't know if it's true since this is just an accusation as of now. |
Anyone else find the exclamation mark in the thread title... a little weird?
In any case, this would be saddening if true; but as said, there's not really anything substantial to say until we hear a verdict. None of us know these people involved personally and we haven't seen any of the case content so there's just not much to say, as with most of these cases. Hope it's not true, but we'll see. |

absolutely. And sometimes they're just making up stories.
Hard to tell these days because you tend to see both. A lot of the big headlines rape/assault allegations turn out to be false, and then stuff that sounds too crazy to be true (Bill Cosby), actually turns out to be true. It's a crazy world. |

Omg. How do you arrive at such questions.

There's a video where Sarah Brown presented her proof of Levy's sexual assault, I plan to watch it later as I am in class at the time of this post.

In the World of Today, there is such a thing as "cancel culture" and a couple of days prior to this story breaking, I realized how far it could go, and it bothered me somewhat. Then I hear that someone is saying "#BoycottPowerRangers" because the OG Franchise Titans did bad things! VERY BAD THINGS!!! One thing I don't know is if Brown mentally incorporated the Disney Era or Hasbro's current ownership! I know Levy and Brown haven't been involved for years, but I also know that for some, it might not matter, and this franchise can't afford mass-defections. Saban kept this franchise going and, if Brown is correct, might have covered-up a crime to make kids happy and himself richer! Will the Rangerverse continue? Yes! But in what capacity? Will Saban and Levy make money off potential royalties, even if they don't deserve them? Hope not, especially if Brown is correct! |

Yes, Cancel culture is a thing, but Power Rangers isn't the type of show that will suffer from it. We had actors committing murder we had on-set homophobia We had an actor stealing from sick children None of those things derailed peoples perspective of this show, so what makes you think this will. |
'Cancel Culture' isn't really much of a thing outside of interpersonal circles to begin with, honestly; and I feel people make far too big of a deal out of it than they should and use it as a buzzword to group a lot of different separate things together. People have always had criticism of celebrities' actions and other people have always been put off from a property due to the actions of certain creatives involved -- none of this is new or special, and doesn't really require a special classification. It's just that with Social Media and the Internet in general, it's a process that happens quicker and is easier to see happen in real time.
And more to the point, I frankly haven't seen many people talking about this -- and the few people I have seen talking about it who believe Brown and are disgusted by Levy, they don't really directly associate it with Power Rangers and remain fans especially with newer creatives on the job. I think we've really got to stop crying "CANCEL CULTURE!!!" on everything like this and look at the reality of the situation with a bit more nuance and common sense. And, while we're at it, maybe stop the doomsday prophecies about a massive money-making machine that has survived far worse and continues to go on to this day. And frankly, even the 'worst case scenario' is people you don't know not watching a show and/or buying products anymore. Hardly a big deal. |
I am just watching all of this while eating a bag of popcorn.

Some people will say that franchise is a bad influence to their children.

As it stands right now, my earlier panic may have been unfounded. |
I don't know why there's no news in some websites about nerd culture from here in Brazil about this incident.

I thought that this would be big, but I have had to rethink this. I will wait and see what happens instead. |
I'm so disappointment with Shuki levy right now.

Hey Guys, I'm The Shades. I'm one of the Hosts from the Video of Sarah that was Shared Earlier. Wanted to add my Two Cents in on the Matter, while it's still being talked about.
I do agree, Cancel Culture is not a Thing any of us Subscribe to, and the last thing any of us want is for Power Rangers to be "Cancelled" over this. We even Told Sarah ourselves Boycotting Power Rangers was not something we could follow. That being said, Given the Accusations she's made against Levy, and the Evidence she Presented to back up said allegations, I Wholeheartedly believe this needs to be spread, so that he can be Tried for what he not only put her through, but based on what she said, others as well. Sarah's not the only victim here, and that's what scariest to me. If anyone at TokuNation proper sees this, feel free to contact me. I want to help spread this story as much as possible. I'm not worried about getting Views; if this is a flash in the pan moment for us, so be it. But I want to help Sarah get the Proper Justice she deserves. |
