TokuSHOUTsu to release Ryuki in November, Zero-One in January
A sudden update from SHOUT today has at last given us a solid date for both shows and an update on what's going on -- as things stand, they plan to release Ryuki in November and Zero-One in January. A further tweet clarified that there is to be a press release on Zero-One's physical release soon, but that we can expect pre-orders to go up in Fall.

As Mr. Burns puts it, "Excellent!"
I was even planning to watch Ryuki after I start and then finished up on Agito and I'm even more than halfway through its US counterpart, Dragon Knight, which I'm seriously enjoying. |
Glad we have an update and that they're taking time to make these releases good. Hopefully Zero-One sells well enough for us to get other shows on Blu-Ray.
|
"We also need to maintain the quality you've come to expect from us" What a way to assure fans, especially after the Gridman stuff
|
Glad to hear it! I hope the quality of the subs are good...

Critical as I've been of Team Rider-related stuff before, something I will give praise to is the subs themselves. Kuuga and Kamen Rider's SHOUT subs were of genuinely high quality that in many ways exceeded what we had before; so I imagine that Ryuki and 01 will follow through with that -- especially with how long we've been waiting. Another reply in that thread also seems to imply they went and re-did their Ryuki subs even though they said they were already done at announcement; so clearly they're putting a lot of thought and effort into these.
I do think the long waiting times could be stemmed by doing movies or other spin-off content in the meantime, or one-off projects like ZX or J; or even honestly licensing already-existing high-quality fansubs for certain recent shows. But at the very least the long waiting time seems to guarantee we get a good product at the end of it all |

I generally have really liked Shout's subtitles, even if they have occasional hiccups, so I'm happy to see them expanding what they offer. Definitely going to get the Zero-One Blu-Ray.

Finally. A date for when I can start Zero-One.
|
Shout Factory does have a record of QC issues with their discs, but they do fix things with a replacement disc (As seen with their Friday the 13th set).
|
When Zero-One's subs come out in January, they're coming with the REALxTIME movie as well! A special screening of the movie is also to take place next month at comic-con

It is pretty great yeah! I hope it bodes well for other series getting their summer or winter movies in future
|
I just hope that means that the movie will be included on the blu-ray set.
|
It would be great, but a 45-episode series plus a feature-length movie... that'd run up quite the pricetag and I wouldn't be surprised if they done the movie as a separate physical.

Are the 1st Rider series and V3 out by either Shout or Mill Creek? Then I can start at the beginning.
Thanks. I started at Zyu as well for that line. |
If you're asking about physical releases, then no; SHOUT has yet to release any DVDs or Blu-Rays for Kamen Rider (and Mill Creek isn't involved)
|
With which case I'll need to get the Malaysian sets again for the Rider line due to no Internet.
Hopefully this won't be the case with the Ultra line as I try to get official sets when possible. |
Just found out that Ryuki finally has a release date:

A listing for the Zero One Blu-Ray set from Shout has been found. Allegedly would include the movie as well.
https://b2b.dealsareus.ca/kamen-ride...-movie-blu-ray https://twitter.com/tokushoutsu/stat...28159092588544 Tokushoutsu twitter account also proclaims, "Eight discs!" which presumably refer to the Zero One set. |

Is this them hinting at a Kuuga physical??

I'd be pretty fine with Kuuga being DVD instead of Blu-Ray if its definition causes issues like that

Honestly, if it has to be any format for older shows I'd say go for SD-BD like Discotek has been doing. I know they're like the only ones who do it but it's a proven method that would probably help quality and disc size out a lot.

All 50 episodes of Ryuki are now up on shoutfactorytv.com and to prove I'm not bluffing:

Why would anyone think you're bluffing, they literally said on their SNS pages that Ryuki would be up in its entirety starting today.

Zero-One Bluray set up for pre-order. Not only does it have all the episodes and the movie it has the specials that aired during the COVID hiatus. |
They also include 35.5 - "how was MBJR created" - in the episode listings for 46 episodes
|
Dose anyone know if the Zero-One box set will be sold on Amazon?
